The Bethlehem Tree

Rate this book
Visiting churches and festivals, Saint Nicholas enjoyed telling stories. One of his favorite stories, written down by the fourth of his Woodsmen, was about the very first tree of Christmas. A tree which grew in Bethlehem in the years right after the birth of Jesus. Nicholas continues his story describing the significance of the shape of the evergreen, the tree so many of us enjoy decorating for Christmas.

Author Gale Buck found this story in the journals of Jameson Thorpe, the fourth of Santa’s Woodsmen. Just like Nicholas, Gale has shared this story at many Christmas festivals. Christy Buck adopted this story as the second in her growing series of illustrated stories from the North Pole.

As a storyteller I have tried to find a new story each Christmas. My bride, Christy, has set out to illustrate her favorite of these stories. The Bethlehem Tree is our second book in this growing series. I developed the story, she did the illustration. Of course I love it!
