I seriously can’t get enough of this series, every time I pick one of these books up I just get wrapped up into the stories. I have always loved that Mary Kelly Reed manages to write such stories that end up captivating you, so far I haven’t come across one that didn’t catch my eye, but she has achieved perfection with this story. You could feel what Lexi was feeling and going through and it was so easy to relate to her. The story was easy to follow and the characters were all loveable, I can never find anything to fault with Mary’s work, you seriously need to read this series if you’ve not already… I can’t wait for the next book.

Lexi has been best friends with Nick for as long as she can remember, yet after learning something about her past she can’t help but look at him differently and is doing everything she can to avoid him, but whilst she’s managing to perfect not seeing him, her luck isn’t exactly on her side… After bumping into him with his new girlfriend she can’t help but feel like it’s high school all over again. So after confiding in a few close friends she sets out to do what she can to teach him a lesson… However, Nick is pretty smart, so will she be able to get one over on him or will he catch onto her game and decide to get even?

This is my second read from this author. I actually have a boxset with My Day #4, 5, and 6. So far, the writing is similar. For most of the book, I felt as though I was reading about teenagers (at least with Lexi).

Lexi and Nick have been best friends for a very long time, but they've only been best friends. Lexi is beside herself to find out that Nick was the reason she was dumped when she was 16. Her mother, who Lexi sees as self-absorbed, spilled this info. She decides she's going to get revenge when Nick walks in with her old foe, who seems to be trying to sink her talons into Nick.

The story is told in Lexi's pov. Her emotions and logic are all over the place. She truly is an adolescent, emotionally. I was frustrated for Nick. The writing was good, but I felt some conversations were stilted and felt a little unbelievable. I liked the premise of this story because I think m/f besties who toil with feelings for each other fear jeopardizing their friendship if they pursue more. I also liked that this is a clean read. I didn't like how Lexi handled everything. I liked this story better than Arianna's story in book 4. This story ends on a happy note.

I received a free copy from BookSprout in exchange for my honest opinion. 2.5-3 stars

A well written sweet love story includes some secrets, lying and deceit, misunderstandings, and revenge all while being a fun and flirty read. The characters were well developed and interesting making you feel involved in their lives. Lexi finds out that Nick betrayed her trust when they were teenagers, and it really hurt her because they have been best friends for most of their lives. She can’t help but look at him differently great story to see if they can get past it and changing their lives. I voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC.

3.5-Stars for Unexpected Note
This is a short, fun, sweet novella length read. Enjoyed the main characters and their background of their connection. Even though I enjoyed the book, I only rated it 3.5-stars because I honestly don't think i would pay $2.99 given how short it was but perhaps other readers may feel differently. I absolutely enjoyed the authors writing style so I would recommend Unexpected Note, if you don't mind the $2.99 for about 130 pages.
I did receive an advanced copy from the author via BookSprout, and am voluntarily leaving my opinion with my voluntary review.

"An unexpected note in already perfect melody" - funny and entertaining!

This one kept me glued to the pages so much that every interruption just annoyed me greatly. It was one read packed with angst. I was so curious what will happen next that I was all the time on my toes. Was so curious if in all this tangled mess that Lexi found herself her and Nick will find their way to confess their feelings to each other. It was very entertaining read, has its funny moments and what is more important great ending.

Unexpected Note is another great book from this wonderful author. Lexi and Nick have been friends for a long time but things are about to change. I thought Lexi was extremely annoying and pretty stupid if she thought playing games with people's emotions would actually work ... but the great ending made up for all the times I wanted to throttle her! This is a well written Rom com that makes you feel involved in the characters story. I definitely recommend it.

Mary Kelly Reed writes light hearted, flirty romances that always brighten my day. It is always easy to be drawn into Ms. Reed's stories. Her characters sound like some of my friends. These books work well as stand alones, but the series has a unique premise of getting even for real or imagined hurts from your past. This book is perfect when you need an escape!

Another book full of warm-hearted laughter, dreams, smiles and simple beauty. Ms. Reeds books give you such a feel good factor that they should be used for therapy.

With an amazing cast of heart touching characters, a sweet plot, this book gives another sweet story full of laughter, fun and smiles.

She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt but that is until she learns about him dating another. She is going to get revenge but she also has a secret to hide. What will happen? Will it end in disaster? See if she will

Unexpected Note

I still don't find this series funny, however I still find it entertaining. Some of the behaviour is rather childish and there is no indication of the ages of the characters.

I’m afraid I didn’t really enjoy this book. The writing, to begin with, is stilted, and Lexi isn’t a likeable character, she is blunt and abrupt. She doesn’t seem like a nice person, playing with peoples emotions just because something happened ten years ago! She’s not even willing to give the guilty party his side of the story just goes straight for the attack.
The premise for the story wasn’t too bad; it was just poorly executed. The characters kept having the same arguments, constantly begging Lexi to tell them what was wrong and her remaining mute! There were a lot of characters involved or mentioned, and we weren’t really invested in their lives, so it was hard to keep straight who was who!
The book does get slightly better once the author hits her stride, but it only goes from a one-star to a two.

Would have liked a deeper interaction between the two main characters. I like a better happily ever after. Other wise it was ok. It was fun in some ways. I reviewed a copy for booksprout.
