This short graphic novel is the first of a new Marvel series aimed at older children or young teens. Sixteen-year-old Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, is chosen for an internship at 'The Daily Bugle', with the best intern winning the chance to interview Iron Man. However, Peter has to work in a team with fellow teens Miles and Gwen. When mutated animals start menacing the city, Peter has to take on his Spider-Man personae to defeat them. Unable to succeed on his own, he finds Gwen and Miles jumping in to help. There's more to these kids than meets the eye. Could they have the same super powers as him?

This is an origin story of how the new Spidey team comes together. The script and art are really good, and there are some bumps in the road regarding teamwork. As this book is Part 1, not everything is tied up at the end. However, it does come to a reasonably satisfying ending so you don't feel cheated without having the next part. The 14-year-old girl I read it with really enjoyed it. It's good to have a story aimed at that young teen age group, as some of the YA graphic novels in the superhero genre can be a lot darker and are often meant for older teens. Now to find Part 2.

I loved reading about Peter Parker, Gwen Stacey, and Miles Morales teaming up to take out bad guys! The story was written in three parts from the perspective of each Spidey and it added a lot of depth to the story. Having all three Spider people be the same age and in the same place in life made me like Spiderman a lot more. Their banter was funny and their awkward young ways were adorable.

I really liked the story and how its building up. So much fun with the great illustration.

Olha, eu estava bastante empolgado com a linha de quadrinhos DC Kids e DC Teens, quando vi que a Marvel estava colocando no mercado uma linha que poderia seguir os mesmos moldes, vibrei feliz. Mas na verdade não me empolguei muito com esse encadernadinho do Homem-Aranha, que também reúne os aranhas Miles Morales e Gwen Stacy. Acontece que esse quadrinho não é pensado como uma graphic novel como as da DC, mas edições separadas, que são publicadas mensalmente lá fora. Isso perde um pouco do ritmo e da qualidade em comparação com as publicações da DC Comics, que são pensadas como um todo e mais voltadas para um público específico. Neste encadernado temos duas histórias. A primeira é "Um Novo Começo", em que os três aranhas se conhecem e lutam contra uma horda de animais monstruosos. Na segunda J. Jonah Jameson coloca a família Kraven (Sergei, Aliosha e Anna) contra os três aranhas, Peter, Miles e Gwen. Infelizmente esse encadernado ficou aquém da minha expectativa, ainda vou dar mais uma chance para a linha Marvel Action com Vingadores, aí verei se continuo ou não a comprar...

Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy are all teens enrolled in an internship at the Daily Bugle sponsored by Tony Stark. The best internees will get to talk to Tony in person, and all three of these young super heroes really need someone to talk to. As they work on a group project, they find unexpected camaraderie as secrets slowly get revealed, and the 3 Spideys figure out how to work together.

This is a short middle grade/YA adventure with the teen versions of these superheroes. They are fun to see in action together and helping each other awkwardly learn the ropes of being a super hero. I like that this is aimed at a little bit of a younger audience than a lot of Marvel's comics so it is more accessible to middle graders. Recommended for superhero fans.

Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. A little superhero violence but no one is seriously hurt.

This was fun. It's Dawson's stated goal to bring new readers in without isolating pre-existing fans of the work and I feel that she surpassed that. Three of my favourite Spider-characters are in this new universe and already I want to see how they learn about one another (as we're not getting origin stories again, thank-you very much ;) and accomplish their editorial goals. Even the set-up was well narrated, though I could have done with a bit less banter. Though I think younger readers would love that part, so...

A decent start to this series that I could definitely see myself being really into were I in the target age range. However, as I am not, I found it to be just not really for me so I doubt I'll be continuing with it, but I would highly recommend it to anyone who has kids who are good readers and like spider-man but aren't quite old enough for the main title yet... Though that is a lot of qualifiers that don't usually show up together.

This was a cute start to a new Spider-Comic. In it Peter, Miles, and Gwen are all Spider-People of the same age group and from the same Earth. It was mostly concerned with introducing everyone and having them meet each other, but I feel that once it is through the beginning period it could be a ton of fun.

Για τους μικρούς μας φίλους είναι μια πολύ καλή επιλογή για να τους εισάγει στον κόσμο των comic και ειδικά του Spider-Man. Αλλά και για τους πιο μεγάλους στην ηλικία, αν τους αρέσει η άφθονη δράση, τα πολύχρωμα σκίτσα και το αγνό παιδικό χιούμορ είναι επίσης μια καλή επιλογή!

It was a nice comic to read, it was illustrated very well. I just don’t like reading things in dutch when it is not it’s original language. I would still buy the next book, because the storyline is great!

it´s pretty good. some of the dialogue is a little cringey, though. it wasn´t ever really explained how Spider-Man didn´t notice he sent a message on a group chat on accident. pretty entertaining though

Woah... that was different.
This comic is rly "new beginning" - it tells different version of Spider-man that we used to know. Firstly I was like typical book-girl "wait it was not like this!", but when you just chill out and take it separetly from the original Spider-man you will have fun 😊

Absolutely loved this book! The artwork was incredible and the story was fun.
