After months of push and pull, Law and Coy are the line between love and hate.

Since the day David brought Coy home, black and blue and in need of protection, Law has felt more than he should. Coy always takes him through every emotion. Law doesn’t want to want Coy. Coy is as dramatic as he is beautiful. He’s also the angriest person Law has ever met. Law is too old to deal with a sexy, young mess. He can’t stop.

It seemed the second Coy found himself working for Law, nothing he did was good enough. No matter how hard he tries, Law finds him lacking. That doesn’t explain why Law looks at him like no one ever has or why Coy burns for Law’s touch. Most of all, Law makes him feel safe. Not only is that something Coy has never experienced, it’s something he needs, because Coy is a magnet for the damaged.

As crazy as Coy might make Law, Coy is his. No one touches Coy. Looks at Coy. Steals Coy from him. Unless he doesn’t step up his game that is.

When Charity Parkerson states that "This book has all the triggers." You listen.
I was expecting so much more. I'd figured out what was going on but read on to be sure. So much push and denial needed to have a strong reason. It's just that it wasn't enjoyable to read, more like annoying and confusing. And messy. We go through so long of Law treating Coy like sh*t only to find out as a memory afterthought they'd shared a bed (for sleep) most of that time. Like, what?🤔⁉️Messy. And the OTT love gesture had my eyes rolling. Not the best book.

On my

Okay!!! It amazes me quite frequently the reasons people decide too have children - then the level of cruelty they can inflict on these innocent children. This story highlighted significant abuse on a child and adult. But it was done well. These two men who felt broken and undeserving of love found it in each other!!!

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey’s books)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Ever sing David had brought Coy home looking black and blue and in dire need of protection Law had felt far more than he feels he should (but he can't help it). Coy is dramatic as much as he is beautiful and so very angry. Law feels he is too old for the way Coy is, but he can't stop. Coy feels from the moment he started working for Law nothing he does is good enough and he is always lacking however, Law looks at him like no man ever has before and makes him feel so safe. So Coy burns for Law's touch. As crazy as Coy might make Law, Coy is his. No one touches Coy. Looks at Coy. Steals Coy from him. Unless he doesn’t step up his game, that is.

I loved this story with the push and pull constantly between Coy and Law. I actually felt desperately sad for Coy for much of this book as all Law did was criticise him although it then became clear that he was actually trying to distance himself from Coy. I loved the passion that they shared even if it was manifesting itself in criticism. The ending to the story showed just how special Coy was and that when he loved someone he really did do that deeply and totally. Easy to read, feel and understand you will feel quite teary at times especially when Coy describes what happened with his psycho ex. This is an MM story with mature content. There is mention of historic domestic abuse and rape.

Such A Beautiful Read

When Coy takes a job on David’s ranch he meets Lawson who is David’s property manager and right hand man. After getting off to a rough start , their love starts to bloom.

I wasn’t prepared for the twist and turns this book took. I expected it to be alpha males and super sexy, and it was to a point... but man, this was such an emotional read. I rarely ever cry when reading but Ms. Parkerson had me balling like a baby, and that I didn’t expect. I don’t want to give to much away, so I’ll just say that this honestly one of the best books I’ve read in a really long time. I laugh, I cried , and I was devastated when it ended. I absolutely loved this book.

A wonderful read

This does have triggers for some people and a clown 😕. Lol I hate clowns. But he isn't a scary one. So the book is worth the read. Law works on the farm with David Baker. Coy is a farm hand that gets under Law's skin. Law irritates me at times but I love him anyways. Coy has grown so much since arriving and I like that he has a voice now. You meet some other sexy characters in the mix. Meeting Coy's mom, omg I act just like her. She is one of the best characters.

Biasanya ga suka baca buku seperti ini di mana, MC di buku ini adalah mantan pacar dari MC di buku sebelumnya. Tapi yang ini lebih bisa dinikmati karena Coy's life is so tragic.

Coy is a survivor, young man with such a brave heart. Eventhough he's only in his twenties, he's already through the worst in his life. Thankfully he has great friends who helped him through his darkest moment and rebuild his life and there's Law. Someone who can love Coy the way he is with his flaws and his traumatic past.

I LOVED IT... and I hated it.

This relationship was so wholesome, but I couldn't bare the fact that Law handled the situation like a 12 year old with a crush. It was like he didn't know how to manage his feelings so he bullied the hell out of Coy. It was funny and sad.

Also, I though the reason of him not sharing his feelings was more... dangerous? I mean, the real reasaon it's totally understandable and I don't blame him for being insecure. But I though he murdered someone hahaha.

Anyhow, I loved this couple! Even if it's obvious they have a lot of issues (together and separated).

Really sweet

Both Law and Coy are due for some happiness. They find that happiness together once they let their guard down and get over the fear. Law was broken as a child and saved. Coy was loved as a child but broken by a destructive relationship as an adult. Both men share pain and heartbreak and now they have found love.

I love this series!

I am in awe of this entire series! This is the first series I have read straight through with no breaks. That’s just how truly amazing the authors work is! I felt a deep connection with Coy. I have to say, I think this book is my favorite! I can’t wait for book 11!

Another winner from the "sugar" series. This one is about a dark chocolate cowboy who has a big secret he doesn't share and one of his ranch hands, a younger guy who needs someone safe in his life as he's been knocked around by just about every lover he's ever had. Parkerson continues to find new ground in m/m romances through characters who are realistic and uber sexy!

Heads up- one of the main characters is emotionally abusive towards the other over a period of nine months before the relationship begins, and the reader is expected to just kinda forget that it ever happened, or look over it because he was upset that they couldn't be together because [insert stupid reason here].

Law was just too unlikable for me. He was emotionally abusive towards Coy and was too busy having his own pity party. He even admits several times to knowing how cruel he was and yet still continued. It was just something I couldn't get past.

So, Law made a huge issue out of something that wasn't really such an issue and used it as the reason to stay away. Crazy man.

I adored Coy's character. I wanted to just give him a big hug and hold him and keep him safe.

Check your triggers.
I was worried about this one after reading chapter one. Luckily nothing happens in the moment but as stories of the past.
But the way these two found a way around their past traumas will melt your heart

Sugar Enemy is book ten in the Sugar Daddies series

I really liked Law and Coy. I’m glad we got their story and their HEA. Like the others in the series they roll into the next one and it’s a very ongoing timeline kinda read

Looking forward to the next read in the series

It's boring because of feeling unworthy and self pity of the main character( Law) was dominating the whole book.

“He didn’t know how to stop setting his soul on fire to warm other people…”

Battered and broken, Coy is taken in like a stray cat, but then again, that’s what he’s grown use to in his life. Doing his best to make it up to David for giving him shelter, he works hard on the ranch/vineyard and does his best to be invisible. But as much as he attempts not to draw attention to himself, he’s garnered that of his boss, Law. As each day passes, Coy feels cursed to forever finding himself falling for a man bent on hurting him in one way or another.

Law keeps telling himself he is too old to deal with Coy’s drama and bullshit. But when he really takes time to see under the tough bravado Coy portrays, he sees a broken soul that cries out to his own.

Coy and Law each have a past that mirrors each other, and together they may just find that enemies do indeed turn into the best of lovers…and no matter how damaged, love will find a way to heal all wounds…even those that can’t be seen.

I do believe that Charity Parkerson pulled out this reader’s heart in the 10th installment to her Sugar Daddies series. Broken and imperfect heroes are my drug of choice, and dear reader, she gives me double my pain, double my pleasure in Sugar Enemy! If you are a m/m romance fan, this is a must read series! Wish I could give this more than 5 Stars!! Highly recommend!!

*Reader’s Note: I do not consider these as standalone stories, and recommend they be read in order.*

I wish I had seen Law being good to Coy at least a little... all he did was humiliate, diminish and belittle Coy... even knowing all the hurt Coy went thru...
I felt for Law struggles... but nothing on his treatment of Coy warmed me to him... no amount of internal pain justifies being a bully... he was a bully to Coy...
it was still a great book - I love Coy...
