The man claims to have ridden a steam powered excursion train on October thirty-first, when the dead walk abroad, resulting in a terrifying experience taking him back to the second world war and the Battle of Britain. Absolutely enjoyed this uncanny piece of horror fiction. An elderly man boards an excursion train to London. When he is ordered to step off the train at a small station things become truly bizarre. Why are all passengers so versed in the past? Are they actors or what is going on here? Classic ghost story told by the author in a masterly way. Liked the setting and the uncanny twist. The story starts very normal and very slowly turns into a spine tingling ride. Really recommended!
