Amazing book about how we limit ourselves and others based upon our experience of our own and others' capabilities. We encourage people to get stuck in roles because we do not allow any of their other possibilities to present themselves. You have always acted this way, so you cannot act any other way because then I would have to change the way I respond to you. Jourard encourages us to be open to all the possibilities of people so that they can exceed their own concept of their capabilities.
