It was an alright short read but I was hoping to get more out of it in terms of techniques related to CBT. It left me feeling that CBT is not very much different from any other self caring behaviors we engage in on a daily basis such as bath, exercise, relaxing, stretching, breathing etc etc... I'll keep reading until my curiosity is more satiated.
This book is really not about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy like the title suggests. It does have some good techniques for personal development, but it is not a book about overcoming anxiety and depression using CBT. I'm not even sure the facts are based on scientific research. References are not provided.
Short read, high yield, great overview of key CBT topics. “If you want to succeed in life, you need to have good habits. ‘you are what you do repeatedly, and thus excellence is not an act, but a habit.’”
