Some happily-ever-afters take more effort than others...
The strong alpha heroes in our anthology are determined to claim their mates—but their women are anything but submissive. They'll have to work twice as hard to get what they want. It'll be a power struggle as the alphas and their women learn that the volatile energy between them is the beginning of something wonderful.
These nine hand-picked stories are hot enough to curl your toes. Get ready to fall in love with an alpha.
It was great short story about bear shifters. I liked both Georgia and Caleb. She's strong willed and sassy. Caleb is alpha bear, who's ready to wait for his mate as long as he needs. Theirs courting so to speak, wasn't easy. It was because of Georgia. She was scared that mating will make her hard earned position in men dominating work null and void. She will just be pregnant and barefoot. And that was a dead sentence to her. But Caleb will show her that she don't need to change anything about herself. She's perfect for him, the way she is.
CROSSING BOUNDARIES BY ROSE WULF
This story have appropriate name, because Maddox is a wolf and Aniya is a cat. And these species aren't friendly with each other. So mating between them can cause problems. Add poachers, who causes danger to both, cats and wolfs, and Aniya and Maddox have full paws.
GUARDING WHAT'S HERS BY KAIT GAMBLE
Powerless halfling Cammi has to find her own brand of magic in a world full of powerful creatures to survive. But she never could had dreamt, that her next adventure will bring something, that will change her life forever. I liked this couple too. Cammy may be seen as someone at the bottom in magic world, but she was smart and resilient. And Aldric was an ass, irritating and overbearing. Well, at least it's what Cammi thought about him, after theirs first meeting. But I thought he was a perfect match for her.
THE LIBRARIAN AND HER DRAGON by DORIS O'CONNOR
This was a fun little story. It has a bit of MC plot in it. Though, I wish there was more of it. There is something biker mixing with shifter. There was a some plot twist, that I didn't see coming. It was good. Anne was sassy and stubborn little goose. And no, it's not a hint about the twist that h is a goose shifter. Lol. Also I liked how accepting she was learning about dragon sfiters. Loved Gideon and his dragon. He's responsible, wicked and really loving with his mate.
EAGLE'S SEDUCTION BY ELYZABET M'VALEY
This one was light story with no dramas. It was a bit strange, because most of the time shifters are wolf, wildcat, bear, dragon but not eagle and owl. Not bad strange mind you, just different. I liked Kit. How he tiresly fought for his mate. He was a bit pushy but in a good way. Kara was too stubborn for my liking. She was too much sticking to her plan. They change, or at least plans can be adjusted.
MAKE HER PURR BY SAM CRESCENT & STACEY ESPINO
I really enjoyed this one. I love when h is kickass. And Lilly was one. She was strong, loyal and able to stand up for herself. She was a perfect mate for Titus. And he was perfect mate for Lilly, because he was the first person in her life, who made her feel that she belongs. They gave each other what was missing in theirs life.
CLAIMING THE COYOTE BY ROBERTA WINCHESTER
This wasn't for me. I'm always annoyed when H pushes h away for stupid reasons. But it's worse when it's reverse. Tala logic of pushing Channing away was... Well, it was bullshit. I'm amazed that he didn't pointed the holes in her thinking sooner. Another thing what bothered me is, how Channing acted. It's too worse when H clings instead of h when, theirs partner rejects them. He was like a lost puppy instead of formidable coyote shifter. I guess I missed cavemen behaviour in Channing.
MY VERY SOUL BY TESLA STORM
This story reminded me of Jane Eyre. Just a modern version with paranormal twist. And it would have been a good story, but it felt rushed for me. Some parts wasn't fullfiled. I'm not sure how to explain more without giving away anything. Let's just say some actions by characters made no sense to me.
BRARLY CAUGHT BY SARAH MARSH
I always enjoy stories, that have h running from psychos ex. And while in this book it doesn't cause much of drama, it still was good. I liked this couple. I love when h makes H to work and just doesn't climb him like a tree. Dani made Emmett to sweat some while he tried to win her. Which was something new and refreshing to him. And btw, Emmett was great. I really liked his character.
I loved each and every story in this collection. The main stand outs were Doris O'Connor, Sarah Marsh and Sam Crescent and Stacey Espino's stories. Each of these authors wrote a unique story and they kept me turning the pages. The other stories were great and I discovered a few new authors to hunt up. This is a great collection of stories that feature lots of heat, intrigue and connections between the characters. If you like shifters and paranormal stories, be sure to pick this up!!!! Very highly recommend it.
Caleb, Loralynne Summers Sweet Lord! This is steamy and sexy and I loved it! Georgia is working in a man's world, denying her bear. Caleb rolls into her life and Bam! boy does it get interesting :)
Crossing Boundaries, Rose Wulf Two stories into this anthology and it's going to be a rough ride if they continue to be this awesome! Maddox is looking after his pack and looking to expand. Aniya is a cougar on the prowl when they first meet...History in the making!
Guarding What's Hers, Kait Gamble Cammi is part elf and has had a rough life. Aldric is bound to protect his treasures while Cammi is trying to steal & make her life better...These two are in for a surprise!
The Librarian & Her Dragon, Doris O'Connor The tale of Annie, librarian and feminist. Gideon rides into town to return a very overdue book..and the town is never the same again, and neither is Annie.
Eagle's Seduction, Elizabeth Valey Wouldn't say no to Kit dropping in to visit. To say Kit's meeting of Kara was startling would be an understatement. His pursuit of her was stellar. Kara didn't stand a chance but it took a bit for Kit to get her to understand he wouldn't change her.
Make Her Purr, Sam Crescent & Stacey Espino Lilly is the best tracker and she's looking for her clan's elder. Titus is the alpha of a rival pack. Love and acceptance can change a person's whole life!
Claiming the Coyote, Roberta Winchester Tala tries to protect everyone to the detriment of her own life. Channing won't give up on her. When she comes back into town, he's determined to make her his. Close call when the bad guys come to town.
My Very Soul, Tesla Storm Jessa takes a job as a tutor for a man with secrets. As the tension mounts, Jessa has questions that she's unable to ask Elliott. Tragedy brings things to a head.
Bearly Caught, Sarah Marsh I love Sarah's works!! Dani hits the tiny town to take care of her aunt's house - possibly sell and get back to the city. Little does she know, Emmett has other plans and life seems to agree!
This was a great anthology. Lovely mix of reading by authors known and new!
I loved this book from start to end all the different stories with all so many delicious alphas.... right now I’m not going to review every single story there was in the book I will maybe later on come back and do so.
so with that being said I did love how not one was the same you got to meet so many different shifters so many different mystical creatures I would say.... but I think the best part was none of them had it easy it wasn’t Wham! Bam thank you ma’am Kinda read in all their Waze they had to work for it the females love them none of them were that old please help me I am a damsel in distress they were all sassy head on their shoulders just perfect with a little bit of attitude... Evening for Sam as an example the last story bye Sarah marsh Dani she came from a bad abusive controlling relationship and watch her not wanting to fall back into that to be strong but to also still light and very yummy bear shifter Alpha slipped into the cracks and help her even on the early stages and I don’t even think she realized it then. These are my favourite kind of reads because I get to see the difference between each authors rating and characters how their personalities and everything comes out and how it’s also different and I just love reading that style and I find when I do it this way I love all the stories because it’s like a fresh new story in the book and I just like that....
Well I don’t know how much this is going to help for that review as I did not go into detail with every story but again I did love every story I loved meeting the wolves the cougars the fae the Eagles the dragons etc. I loved reading about them all meeting them all and I just think everyone needs to read an experience each story for themselves
Caleb by Loralynne Summers: 2.5⭐ * Bear Shifters *HEA *No o/w or cheating *H wanted h from the moment he saw her *h was reluctant, not a full bear shifter, did not feel the mate connection right away. *There was a tragic accident (not MCs) *Steam: meh 2/5. No great detail.
Crossing Boundaries by Rose Wulf:
Guarding What's Hers by Kait Gamble: 2.5⭐ * h-Half fae/human & H-dragon *HEA *No o/w or cheating *H caught h breaking into his vault and took her to his lair, fall in love from there. Discover they are true mates. *Steam: 2.5, detailed but pretty mild.
The Librarian and Her Dragon by Doris O'Connor: 3⭐ * h -human(secret dragon) H-dragon *HEA *No cheating or o/w *h is a librarian and H comes to return a book. h is resistant because she thinks he's some bad biker. *Steam: detailed, some dirty talk, but short. 3/5.
Eagle's Seduction by Elyzabeth M. VaLey: 2⭐ *bird shifters *HEA *So stupid, the h pushes the H away the entire time and her reasons are so stupid. She doesn't want to give up her dream but won't let the H even finish a sentence on how he's not asking her to. Just ridiculous. Steam: meh, at points it's hot but mostly rushed. 2.5/5.

So this is an anthology and if you aren't very familiar with that style of book, it basically is a collection of stories by a variety of authors.
This happens to be multiple stories that all involve romance/smut with shifters. Some were about two different types of shifters and their romance and others were about humans with shifters. There was one with fae and dragons, etc.
So there were some stories that I really enjoyed and some that I honestly had to convince myself not to skip. I really did enjoy Crossing Boundaries which was about a wolf and cougar. The smut was good and for a story that is only like four chapters long, I thought that author did a good job with pacing.
Other ones, like The Librarian and Her Dragon felt cringy and off paced. I know these stories are going to be insta love and I think its for readers who like that or don't want to read something lengthy which I fully support. I just think the writing by some of these authors felt eh to me.
Still, this was something I'd read late at night if I wanted something quick. There were some good gems within this and a good option for someone who wants to pick something up and drop it to pick it up later again.
This paranormal anthology has a good mix of stories ranging from various types shifters to MC's to elves and dragons. There's magic, danger, adventure, suspense, angst as well as heat and each story is by a different author or group of authors. Anthologies like this are great because you can read stories by authors you are familiar with and follow but also try out new authors in one go! Great deal for what's included!

I received an advanced review copy through Netgalley and Evernight and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I'm not usually good at reading anthologies, but this one found a way to keep me engaged through the whole thing.
Each story has a unique flavor of shifter/alpha/mate scenario that kept it feeling fresh but connected through the book. I'm pretty sure there is something for everyone in here at some point. There's dragons, wolves, reluctant, enthusiastic, extra smutty, light smut, and everything in between. While I didn't finish this book with any authors particularly standing out, I did enjoy reading each one for different reasons. I'd recommend this for some bite-sized stories you can enjoy on a break.
A collection of paranormal stories that kept me engaged throughout. As always there are the standout and for me they are Bearly Caught by Sarah Marsh, The Librarian and Her Dragon by Doris O'Connor and Make Her Purr by Stacey Espino & Sam Crescent. In saying however that I enjoyed each of these stories and would recommend you grab your copy and start reading as this box set has something for everyone.
Spoiler Alert This was pathetic, the first story started out ok but then her Brother dies and whilst she struggles on the actual scene next thing it is like it is completely forgotten. I tried to read the second story and couldn’t even finish it, I gave up then. Thankfully I didn’t pay money for this.

Well I read all of the books in this box. This last book was off the chain. It was great that her bear accepted her mate. Love how she got Andy back for his miss handling her. Love how they was in tune to each other. I gave this book a 5. I would recommend this book to everyone.
This is a bear shifter mating story. The heroine refused to give in to being a mate for a stupid reason and changed her mind very quickly for whatever reason. Not a very emotionally complicated story. Meh read.
Life happened and I almost forgot about this book, but now that I have finished it I have to say, this is a lot of book for the money. It is full of sexy alpha man stories and a good bang (pun intended) for the buck.
Denying the alpha is a compilation of shifter short stories where the alphas find their mates! Perfect for anyone looking for some quick reads and guarantee HEA's. With shifters of every kind throughout the whole book nothing is missing! I enjoyed everybook in this collection. They were quick reads so there chracters has instalove and a quick ending with no break up in between (besides some light questioning of the relationship).
A big thank you to NetGalley and Evernight Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is an anthology. It has 9 different, unrelated short stories. All are paranormal romances, and I enjoyed them all. I had a blast laughing at these stories. Overall a great read. 4 stars
Georgia trying to establish herself in a male dominated field - the family business - meets Caleb - and the sparks fly!! Fun dialogue, great characters & some hot scenes!! There have to be more stories about the other characters in this short story, and I know they will be great also!!
