Absolutely loved it! This was so sweet. I loved this couple and their great chemistry. I love the Second Chance Ranch and all of its characters. This is a sweet, clean romance.
I absolutely love Liz Isaacson, I love her writings and the series she always seems to create beginning with a single novel. In "Her Last Billionaire Boyfriend" we find the continuation of two middle aged adults- different from the typical storyline- who's tales actually began in the first novel "Her Last First Kiss." Having been burned by family members who should have protected them the most, these individuals swore to have nothing to do with another relationship or love. However, they both wind up at "Last Chance Ranch," where anything is possible with faith the size of a mustered seed. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel with all of it's wonderful characters, and I granted it the deserved five stars for continuing and finishing the stories began in the previous novel. I recommend this novel as a quick and easy read, and just like with any of Ms. Isaacson's other novels- you will not be disappointed.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review. How does that saying go?....If you love someone let them go if they come back it was meant to be. I guess you could say that is the what Carson had to do with Adele. He loved her enough to let her go chase her dream of being a chef. The question is will she come back? Adele is divorced and her ex left her with a ton of bills that she didn't know he put in her name. She has no idea where he is and he never contested the divorce so she is stuck paying them. She is working hard to get the goat yoga up and running at the ranch and also doing food video blogs that she is not letting anyone know about. She has sworn off men, especially rich men. Carson is a cowboy who used to own his own ranch in Montana but had to sell because of his brother and dad. Now his is a billionaire but he wants to just work on a farm. He gets a job at Last Chance Ranch and he feels like he is home. Carson and Adele finally start getting along and give in to the attraction they are feeling for each other. She finally tells him about the her ex and her dreams of being a chef and the food blog. When she gets an offer to go to NYC to help set up a restaurant for two week and a job offer after that she takes it and asks Carson to go with her. They go for the two weeks but Carson is miserable and can't wait to get back to the ranch. When it is time for her to move he lets her go follow her dreams. But he has to leave the ranch because he can't stay there without her there. Will Adele be happy in NYC being a chef like she wanted? Will Carson find a new place to be happy and call home? Will he be able to get over Adele and move on? What will happen when they both have to go back to the ranch for Scarlett and Hudson's wedding?
This is book 2 in the Last Chance Ranch series. The 2 main characters in this story - Adele and Carson - were introduced in the first book. Adele was Scarlett's best friend and Carson was a hired hand on the ranch. Adele and Carson's story follows the same timeline as Scarlett's and Hudson's so you see the events through their eyes and experiences. They are both in their 40's and it's nice to see a mature couple even if they have the same type problems as others no matter the age. Adele's ex-husband ran up huge credit card debt and had it in her name. She's slowly trying to pay it off but doesn't want anyone to know about it. Carson had to sell his Montana ranch because of debts from his brother's gambling. Adele really wants to go to culinary school but obviously can't afford it. She puts her skills to use by making online cooking videos that she secretly films in her cabin kitchen. She doesn't even let Scarlett know about it. She keeps everyone from going into her cabin. She also has come up with a way to make money for her and the ranch with goat yoga. Carson helps her with the goats and they become closer but not close enough to tell their secrets. Adele's videos catch the eye of a chef in New York City that is opening a new restaurant and wants Adele to help him with it. Adele asks Carson to go to NYC with her in hopes that they can live there together. Carson doesn't like NYC or the ranch without Adele. They end up breaking up. Will they both realize that they belong together? I liked this book and can't wait for the next one. I received an advance copy and am leaving my honest review.
Last Chance Ranch is a fascinating place to visit...even if you have to do that through the pages of a book. One quote from this book: “If you came to Last Chance Ranch, you became family.” That is what it feels each time you visit.
These stories don't necessarily need to be read in order but I'm so glad I did. Several of the scenes in this book happen concurrently with those in book 1, but just from a different perspective. I like knowing more of the back story. Like with any really good story, you don't want it to end. I love a well-written series...getting a chance to get to know the people who inhabit the story. My sweet spot reading is to pick up a God-honoring series and get lost in living in the shadows as I watch their lives unfold.
We learn more about Carson & Adele: what made them into the people they are & the choices they make as they move forward into what their lives will become. Will they lay their pasts to rest as they extend forgiveness to those who have blithely hurt them? Have they finally found where they belong at Last Chance Ranch? Or will their opportunities lead them on after a chance to heal?
Love the book & LOVE the series...can't wait to see where the next adventure takes us.
I received an ARC copy of this book & am so honored to be able to encourage you that choosing this book will be a decision you won't regret.
I received an ARC of Her Last Billionaire Boyfriend and am leaving a review of my honest opinion.
This is the second book in the Last Chance Ranch romance series and the events in this book parallel the events in the first book Her Last First Kiss. It’s always interesting to see the same situations from a slightly different point of view, including more/different information. A bit of déjà vu is fun and, while I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, this book is even better.
Mature characters struggling with mature issues.
Adele Woodruff was hurt badly by her ex-husband and is trying to pay off his massive debts while dealing with her own confidence issues. Carson Chatworth has more money than he knows what to do with but has his own confidence issues.
Adele has discovered her hidden talent – cooking and videotaping what she cooks. Her video channel brings her to the attention of a renown New York check who offers her the chance of a lifetime – in New York City. Can her relationship with Carson survive?
Adele love and ex has left her with bills that he put on her name, so now bill collectors are after her. Working on her friend’s ranch has benefits, a pair of jeans that now look good on her, after losing weight. She was doing food videos, featuring budget meals, popularly was growing. In the parking lot she meets Carson, for him it made him feel alive, for her anger another rich cowboy. Carson, been on the road for two months, looking forward to no traffic, and hopeful a job at Last Chance. Having to sell the ranch, he felt he was starting over, but seeing Adele, things looked brighter. A good story. of two people wanting happiness, the past hurts were weighing them done. In working together they finally have a chance to see the real person, and love. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
It is interesting to read the second book in the series when it overlaps with the time frame of the first book so the reader sees the same scene from a different POV. When I read the first one I thought there was more animosity going on between Adele and Carson than there actually was as seen in reading this second book. Adele was keeping the relationship from Scarlett so we were less aware of what was going on.
Both Adele and Carson had life issues to come to terms with before they could have a real relationship. I didn't really understand why Adele was so secretive about her future plans. I would have been frustrated with her being less than forth coming about everything.
This is a quick, clean read.
Sex: no Language: no Violence: no Christian themes
I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Adele and Carson meet after drastic changes to their normal lives. They are strongly attracted to each other right away. She is swimming in debt, he is a billionaire. How, oh how can this problem be resolved? (Eye roll here). And away we go. She makes online cooking videos. But, for some reason, this has to be kept secret from everybody. No one can ever enter her cabin, for fear they may see the lights and cameras, and...I have no idea. Then, we go down tributaries forever and a weekend, getting to know everybody on the ranch, everybody in everybody’s past, and on and on it goes. By the 50% point, I would hope to be so invested in the story, I can’t possibly walk away. But it got so scattered, and frankly, so boring, I deleted it, and will move on.
A Billion Reasons to Love Adele and Carson are both trying to find their way after debilitating issues in their lives. Carson is trying to find a place that feels like home. Adele is just trying to find her way through life after following her friend to Last Chance Ranch. Adele is pursuing many options to find a way to pay back a back breaking debt her ex-husband left her. When they meet it seems they won't get along, but it turns out Adele is just burned by her previous relationship. Fortunately, Carson feels the sparks she tries to ignore. The Second Chance Ranch is just the place for two lost individuals to find their was to each other, God and grace. Lovingly written, touching and redeeming this is a wonderful book of romance, love and making your own family.
I’d started to fall for Adele and Carson when we met them in the first book. And so, I was very glad to get this opportunity to get to know the pair better, to see their moments together that happened between he scenes of the first book. Once again, I’m loving the more mature hero and heroine that come to us with more experience, and sometimes more baggage that they need to deal with. For both Adele and Carson, it felt like this was very much a story about learning that the dream we think we want just maybe isn’t the dream we need. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Wow! I was hooked from the start & didn't want to stop reading “Last Chance Cowboy” & read this all today :D... A fresh new storyline with relatable recurring characters, like the H/h, Carson & Adele, and witty dialogue as they each work through their own ‘demons’ holding them back from finding love & happiness which made me want to scream out loud at times :o lol ... I never write spoilers or recap blurbs, but I do know when I've read a fantastic must read! ... I was fortunate to find this available during my Amazon Kindle Unlimited, “trial membership” so yes I can honestly recommend this book to fans of fiction and now I can’t wait to read the next one I’ve already downloaded :D
This story was a little different from the other Liz Isaacson books. It began with two people with different dreams. She was need to go to culinary school and he just wanted sooth the pain of having to sell his own ranch. Her dream began to take shape when she was called to New York to help start a new restaurant. He wasn't comfortable in the city, so he returned to the ranch, and then moved on from there. When they both were called to be a part of the ranch owner's wedding, they admitted their unhappiness and declared their love. This complicated tale of loss and love was engrossing. I loved the ending.
Not so much a sequel to Her Last First Kiss, but rather the same timeline told from the point of view of Adele and Carson. Two more people disappointed in the way their life has turned out, in Carsons case money does not buy you happiness, fall in love at the Last Chance Ranch. A story of overcoming prejudice and realising ones self worth, both characters are sweet, funny individuals. A feel good story with more food!! Do not read when hungry, the urge for a sweet treat may come upon you!!!! Another sweet read.
Another good installment of the Last Chance Ranch. There is a little Christian theme, but it does not overpower the story. This story featured Adele and Carson, who did not have a good start or middle, but finally discovered what each one needed. Carson tried very hard to be what he thought Adele wanted, and Adele discovered she didn't want what she thought she wanted either. Confusing right? The story made it come together perfectly. I got this book from the author for an honest review
I received an ARC of Her Last Billionaire boyfriend and am willingly leaving a review.
Carson and Adele’s first meeting didn’t go too well. Everything about him reminds Adele of what she doesn’t want in a guy. Read Her Last Billionaire boyfriend as they go through ups and downs in their friendship and relationship. Had some emotional times in their journey as Adele pursues her desire to cook in the Big Apple. Loved this story.
Second chance ranch is a ranch for those who have nowhere else to go. A place to have a family. Adele is a struggling divorced woman and Carson while rich is dejected about having to sell his ranch. Both have had people put them in a financial bind. They have a rough beginning but slowly come to care for each other. But when Adele gets the offer of her life it will put a chasm between them.
Adele moved with Scarlett when she took over her grandparents ranch. Her ex husband left in so much debt, he ran all kinds of things in her name so moving to Last Chance helped her. Carson applied for a job at Last Chance after her sold his family ranch because his brother and father where ruining it. He scares because he's rich now, but they work together, and they fix each other.
This was such a good book with a great story. I loved all the cooking, it makes me want to go cook. But most of all I loved that it was a story about finding yourself and figuring out what you want in life. I liked how Carson learned to trust God again and that things happen in your life for a reason and it may not be what you planned or had expected. Very fast read and very enjoyable
I loved the well rounded characters in this whole series. They were well written and had characters that you could connect with. The story line was believable and had you relating to all the characters. Each book left you wanting more. It was refreshing to read a love 💘 story without all the sexual escapades of the main characters. Liked how she kept the older ones invoked with subsequent books. Great read.
This book takes place at the same time as the previous one so there are plenty of crossover scenes - we just see them from a different perspective. We are in the middle of the series for Shiloh Ridge releasing, so it was way cool to get a glimpse of them in this book. I enjoyed this back and forth, ups and downs, billionaire romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another satisfying relationship is allowed to bloom at Last Chance Ranch! Perhaps that’s all we all need is a chance and a strong dose of courage to make changes in our lives. These characters aren’t syrupy sweet or religious zealots; they are spiritual and searching for a life that fits just right for them. They are believable and struggling. That is the magic in novels by Liz Isaacson. Once again, thank you, dear lady.
Carson and Adele meet in a grocery store parking lot where she almost hits his truck. They have a shouting match with her doing most of the shouting and him trying to find out her name. Only to be shocked when he shows up for his interview the next day at Last Chance Ranch and she is one of the people sitting at the table ready to do the interview. Now he knows her name and where she lives.
Even though there was a lot of the same thing from the first book in this series, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to book 3 in this series. I realize that book 1 was Scarlett and Hudson but since Scarlett and Adele were college roommates, their lives really are entwined and therefore need the view from both of the women.
Adele and Carson come to Last Chance Ranch after hard challenges in their lives. As they help to get Last Chance Ranch up and running again, they begin a relationship, but will they be able to grow together or apart? Another good book! I have enjoyed all of Liz Isaacson's books. I look forward to reading more.
Another sweet, inspirational romance in the Last Chance Ranch series. Carson and Adele are attracted to each other, even though they had a rocky first meeting. Adele has a plan for what she wants to do with her life and when she gets what she wants she realizes it is meaningless without Carson. I really like this series where the characters are a little older and are starting over.
Adele and Carson are immediately attracted to one another, but she automatically hates any man with money. Adele is working her way out of the terrible situation her ex left her in, but this caused her to not trust anyone and even hides things from her best friend. Her stubbornness and refusal to change could cause her to lose everything. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This is what I call a “companion” book. As the second book in this series (using most of the same characters), the viewpoint shifts to Carson and Adele. It’s a lovely book that relates more detail in their meeting and how their relationship develops. I really enjoyed it! (I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author. This review is my own opinion.)
