Ashes & Embers #5

Loving Storm

Rate this book
(This is a sequel novella to Storm, book one - which must be read first!)

Evie
I met him in a snowstorm...
We spent forty-eight hours trapped in the back of his pickup truck.
We fought.
We touched.
We fell.
Hard.

Storm
She literally crashed into my life...
The last thing I wanted was a relationship. Especially with a quirky chick who drove me insane. But something about her got under my skin, and into my heart.
And I had to have her.
All of her.
Now.

Falling in love in the back of a truck, just the two of us, was easy.
Dealing with psycho fans, jealous exes, and demons from the past....not so easy.

Loving Storm is a fast-paced SWEET (not erotica, not a lot of drama) novella that gives an extended look into Storm and Evie's future. It is best read after reading Storm (and also Vandal, Lukas, and Talon, as those characters will have short cameos in this book).

I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts.

Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.

This was unexpectedly enjoyable

I didn't like the first book in the series (which is about the same couple) much so I didn't expect to like this one. Thankfully, I was proved wrong.

You probably know how much I love epilogues with a HEA and this was that but a little longer. I liked seeing them together and planning their wedding and everything. It was nice seeing the other couples too.

It was a really nice read and I'm definitely going to read Asher soon. 3 ⭐

Para los que no pueden vivir sin un epílogo, aquí tienen -más largo de lo habitual, eso sí- un bonito cierre para la historia de Evie y Storm (no se puede ser más romántico, sin ser ñoño, ni detallista que este tipo).

Loving Storm

“Someday, I’m going to tell our kids how I saved your life after you crashed your car off the side of the road because you couldn’t even listen to the GPS.” Storm Valentine to Evie hours after meeting her. Storm

My heart surges with shock and excitement. “Holy shit, baby, are you serious?”
“I am. I took eight tests this morning.”
Storm and Evie, Loving Storm

Loving Storm is the highly anticipated sequel to Carian Cole’s first bestselling novel, Storm. This book is the exquisite rest of the story of Storm and Evie’s relationship. It is fast, flawless, funny, and touching. It is laugh out loud, shed a few tears, clutch your heart, and melt your panties wonderful.

There are so many awesome things in this book that I read and savored it three times before I gave feedback. We get to see all of the major characters from the books (even if only briefly in a few cases), but it all jells together perfectly. It flows smoothly and perfectly. I fell even more in love with Asher. I grabbed on greedily for glimpses of Mikah, and I searched longingly for Gram….and I wasn’t disappointed.

I can’t stress enough that this is a fun, happy book. I don’t think that anyone will be disappointed, though there are heart tugging moments. Carian flows so perfectly in her writing with humor. I can’t wait to read a romcom by this very talented lady. She has the chops to write it all. She proves again how talented she is.
I don’t want to give too much away, because you will want to take it all in yourself, but I do have a few favorite quotes to share.
“He’s so grumpy,” Gram says once Mikah has left the house.” He needs a nice girl like you, Evie.”
“Mikah doesn’t like nice girls, Gram.” Storm says. “He likes dirty, bad girls.”

“Evelyn, when are you due?” Gram inquires, eyeing us from over the rims of her glasses…”

“In lieu of a gift, we ask all of our guests to donate to our favorite local pet rescue…”

Remember, as you read, that Carian is reader driven. She writes for her readers. This book is a testament to that. It is her love story for her readers. They wanted more Storm, and she gave and gave and gave. This book is phenomenal. I dare anybody not to be happy with Storm and Evie’s future after reading this gem. You will love Storm more, admire Evie’s growth, and fall so easily into their love story that it is like revisiting wonderfully good friends and having a great time!
And if it wouldn’t be too much trouble, once reviews start going up, read a few, and like them if you enjoyed the review. It all helps out.
Read this book. Enjoy it. Laugh with it. Cry a little. But please remember the heart with which it was written.

Evie and Storm

This story is about storm and Evie getting ready for there wedding . And the family they have. It was short and sweet. It's best to read book one before starting with this one. Enjoy

Loved this novella! It had been ages since I read "Storm" but since the first page it was like meeting old friends. I had completely forgotten about Evie's insecurities and Storm's past but this novella used their impending wedding to delve into their feelings and bring up some unpleasant things from their past.
It was not a sad read, though. It was pretty much one of those feel-good "what happens after HEA". And I always appreciate it. There was some external drama, but nothing unresolvable in a couple of pages. Overall, this book showed how loving, supportive, and smitten these two are with each other.

It was also really nice to see the whole gang :)

Oh wow, I really did like this one. I had mixed feelings about their first book but I thoroughly enjoyed this continuation of Storm & Evie's story.

Now I'm moving onto the last book of this series.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by LWoods PR and the author. Thank you for the reviewing opportunity!**

God Save Me.

The first thing I did after Loving Storm landed on my Kindle was:

1. Freak out because it is Carian Cole people!

2. Swoon because that cover is just effing hot!

3. Reread Storm and fell in love with them all over again.

4. Immediately dove into Loving Storm right after and probably bawled my eyes out at that beautiful ending.

5. Last but not least, engage in a Carian Cole readathon.

I can't stress enough how beautifully written this novella was! As this is a continuation from the first book of the series, I would strongly recommend to pick up the book first before diving into this one.

One thing I loved most about Carian Cole is how effortlessly she delivers a romantic story filled with passion and love. Storm and Evie continue to prove readers that beautiful mistakes can lead to beautiful endings and true love does not burn out in the long run but only grew stronger in the end. I fell in love with Storm in the first book and even more after reading Loving Storm, the fact that we have a few chapters written in his POV was icing on the cake! Those are my absolute favorites!

Loving Storm was the perfect epilogue for Storm and Evie's story, which is sure to leave an imprint in Cole's readers' hearts.

Review will also be posted on my blog closer to the release date:

This is a follow up novella to book #1 about Storm and Evie. They were definitely my favorite set of characters from the whole series!! But, I just did not swoon very hard for this book, and I'm sad about that!

I know it was written to come after the other guys' stories but I would have loved this so much more had I just read it right after reading Storm. The story is just the continuation of their dating and the wedding. So it definitely lost the magic of the couple because I had forgotten all the details and connections that made me fall for them!

5 Swoon worthy stars!

I was given this ARC Book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh man do I love Storm! He is still my favorite of all of Carian Cole's characters. I've been so excited about this book since I heard it was coming out and now that it's here I'm just as excited that I got to read it.
This is a novella sequel to the first book Storm, and it's basically a continuation of the first book. I really enjoyed it a lot! I fell in love with Storm in the first book and could not get enough of him and Evies story. In this book we get Storms POV and it really shows how much he loves Evie. This book is all about their love for each other and it is beautiful.
There are a lot of sweet moments in the this book and it was nice to revisit all the other characters. It also sets up for other stories that Carian can write which I love. It makes you want those stories now! I really loved the ending with the glimpse into the future with their kids. I love it it shows that even after all this time they are still madly in love with one another.
For a short story this one was done really well my favorite thing about this book was Storm's POV. I think having that in this one really made this book that much better. He is such a sweet guy with a lot of love to give, and I love that about him. I couldn't ask for a better conclusion to their story than the one Carian gave. I adored this book completely and Carian did a fantastic job with this one like always!

I'm definitely in my happy book place right now. Would certainly recommend this read. This entire series :)

I can't wait for Asher's story. Come on Carian!!!! Hurry it up Girl!!

Happy Reading ;)

Book 5 in the ashes & embers series

We catch up with Storm & Evie with this novella set 6 months after their book, on the road to their wedding.

As always..with Carian Coles writing, this novella shows the depth and love that storm and Evie have for one another...whilst teasing us with sneaky Peekies of the charachters from the other books in the series and it does not disappoint!!

Beautifully written with huge dollops of 'THE FEELS'...a pleasure from start to finish.

ARC kindly provided by author.

I just, love, love, love Carian Cole's Ashes & Embers series!
I've been hooked on it ever since she published her first book... so, I'll call myself a devoted fan.
Loving Storm is a novella and a sequel to Carian's first novel - Storm.
It is not a standalone and you have to read Storm prior to this... and if you haven't read it already, you just have to. Read the whole series, it is amazing!
We get to experience Storm and Evie all over again, and let me tell you, they rock!
Writing is great as always so it took me only a few hours to finish it.
It was funny, panty melting, just a tad angsty and overall perfect.
I highly recommend it!

***5 ‘Perfect Figure Eight’ Stars***

I’ve stated this in other reviews, or at least in my head, but Carian Cole’s words are like crack and I can’t ever seem to get enough and Loving Storm was all that and more. I loved getting to see them take the next step in their relationship and get the HEA they so richly deserved. It was fun, sweet, swoon worthy and filled with all the Valentine family goodness I’ve come to love about this series, as well as the spin off Devils Wolves, but more than that I loved seeing how settled and comfortable Storm and Evie are not only in their relationship, but their lives in general. As this is more of a slice of life/catching up with the couple kind of story there there isn’t any angst, there are a couple of issues that come up that cause a little drama, but nothing catastrophic and both were handled well.

If you are new to the author and the series, you really should start from the beginning of the Ashes and Embers series and read Storm, Vandal, Lukas and Talon since Loving Storm does take place after all four and, if you really want to make sure you’re all caught up, read Torn (Devil’s Wolves #1) as well because it’ll make the story that much more fun for you. But if you want to dive in without even reading Storm, you won’t necessarily be lost, but I can guarantee you’ll be looking to one click all of the other books to get to know this tight knit family better!

Loving Storm was a great followup to Storm. It read like an extended epilogue (though the novella also includes an actual epilogue). Any problems that came up within the book were quickly squashed. Really this is just a lovely look at Storm & Evie's life together. You definitely need to read Storm before diving into this one. I don't think you will enjoy this one if you haven't, but if you have read Storm and you loved these characters then you should definitely give this one a go.

I received an advance reader copy of this book that I have chosen to review.

Sigh... it has been a while since I read Storm, and this novella reminded me of how much I love his book and the Ashes and Embers series.

This was the perfect addition to their story, the trials and tribulations of their relationship, and a wonderful glimpse of their love.

It was great to catch little snippets of the guys and gals of the other books in the series too, and I hope to get a little more of all of them in the future.

Can't wait for more.

*sigh*
I'm in love with this fairytale love story.

If you left the book Storm wanting more, here is the "more" that you've been waiting for. As hot and sexy and madly in love as ever, Storm and Evie are my absolute favorites in the Ashes & Embers series.

This quick read takes you through their engagement and magical wedding with a few little surprises and an epilogue that gives you a peek into the future. We also get to spend a few moments with the rest of the Valentine family with a little Kenzi thrown into the mix to remind us that her love story with Tor still lives on.

Dare I dream? Has the door been left wide open in this novella for a few new stories? (Micah....Amy, maybe Micah & Amy?) Or maybe a revisit with some of our favorite Valentines? Keep them coming. I love this sexy Rock Star series!

4 ‘happily ever after’ stars

This is a gorgeously romantic novella! A follow on from Storm, and an epilogue of sorts to Storm and Evie’s love story, this book shows us what comes after the HEA, and it’s beautiful, sweet, sexy, and functional as we get to see them get their happy ending.

Definitely not a standalone, be aware that this book has spoilers for the earlier books in the series, so read it in order if you’re able to.

It picks up as Storm and Evie are preparing for their wedding, and we get to see that and beyond as they deal with past demons, and the gossip and pressures of the rockstar life, and I love how committed they both are to each other and to building a life together, no matter what stands in their way.

Being your true self with someone is a massive cliff dive of vulnerability.

They are so in-sync with each other, completely smitten, and it’s an absolute swoon-fest.

“I’m not done falling in love with you, either. And you know what? I’m never going to stop.”

With a wedding, babies, time with the Ashes & Embers crew, and an epilogue set 17 years into the future, we get to see everything for these two and I loved it!

A must-read for fans! 4 stars.

Loving Storm, by Carian Cole is the fifth installment in the Ashes & Embers series. It goes back into the lives of Storm and his one and only, Evie! That being said, this is a novella.

I have been contemplating on what to say about Loving Storm, with giving it the justice it deserves. Carian Cole's writing style gives me goosebumps, you feel the characters emotions as if they were your own. EVERY SINGLE TIME! This is Carian in her true fashion, and she never disappoints. You fall in love with the characters all over again, and it makes my heart pitter patter even more ready for the next book!

What to expect?
A winter wonderland wedding....
A swoon-worthy alpha male, that would do anything for his woman....
And a beautiful love story that will leave a big ole grin on your face.

Carian Cole has done it again. This might have been a short novella but each page had so much emotion. From picking a date, to finally saying I do, to eventually the birth of their first child, no one who reads this can walk away without truly understanding how much these two characters are in love. They might have met by chance in a blizzard but they are forever soulmates. The characters get deeper and deeper as the tale unfolds. This was pure romance at its best. As with all of Carian Cole's books, this one is a definite must read.

I loved it... I would say it was a nice conclusion to Storm and Evie's story but it wasn't... It was a wonderful glimpse in their lives after the end of their book.... I'm not saying goodbye because I'll see them again in the future books of the series and I can't wait for that... I had a great time with this novella and at the end I only wanted a few more pages, a little more into their common life because I simply didn't want this novella to end....

***ARC received for review***

I have a confession to make....This is the first time I actually picked up a Carian Cole novel to read. I know...I'm shaking my head along with you all. I cannot believe this is the first time I've read a novel by this author. What is wrong with me! Better late than never, right?

I requested an ARC of Loving Storm by Carian Cole simply due to the blurb. It was a hook line and sinker type thing. Then I received an email telling me If I haven't yet read Storm (Ashes and Embers #1) to do it before reading Loving Storm. I am so glad I listened to the email and read Storm before getting invested in this novel because let's be honest, I would have been confused AF! So I highly recommend you all read Storm first. Actually read the whole series first because I noticed in this novel there are teeny spoilers everywhere.

NOW....If you haven't read Storm yet and plan on doing so after reading the upper half of my review...stop reading here. Loving Storm is a continuation of Storm meaning there will be some small spoilers.

Loving Storm takes place six months after the proposal. I was beyond thrilled after reading Storm and diving straight into Loving Storm.

Evelyn and Storm are ready to ride off into the sunset but first there is a wedding to be planned. Planning a wedding can be tough when Evelyn is still battling with her anxiety and fears of rejection. I loved the fact that even though Storm is intense with the world he is different with Evelyn. With Evelyn he is right beside her being the patient man that he is and helping her through her inner thoughts. Storm is still as swoony as ever, if not more.

OMG! I am stopping here because the rest would bring some major spoilers. Let's just end this portion of my review saying....STORM is the perfect...EVERYTHING!

After finishing Loving Storm I felt a sense of closure on this couples story. My heart is now settled knowing these two finally found their happily ever after within each other!

I cannot wait to continue on with the Ashes and Embers series. These characters are wicked and wild. I find them all intriguing. There is a little mystery behind each and everyone of them. I can't wait!

Reviewed on Behalf of Book Addict live,
I LOVED THIS NOVELLA , THIS GOES ON MY KEEPER  READING SHELF JOINING
♥ STORM ♥
I have been looking forward to Loving Storm as soon as it was announced. The first book Storm has been one of my favourites since it was released. So before reading this I listened to the Audiobook to refresh my memory. This almost carries on from the first one, and it was wonderful edition to the series. Evie is very highly strung and it was cute to see how Storm could calm with his presence.
THIS COUPLE IS SO CUTE
I loved it, it was the after that intense time when you first get together. This was learning about each other and tackling the logistics of making a relationship work. I loved the wider family and their get togethers and Storm’s Gran was lovely. I’m not going to wax lyrical about this book. If you enjoyed Storm, you are going to love this. If you haven’t read Storm why not? Some of Ashes and Ember have been some of my all-time favourites, and I hope we are going to get the Audio edition so I can listen to it as well. This was the icing on the top of a chocolate cake for me as it really finishes Storm and Evie’s story

Since I read the first book, Storm, the very first time, I’ve been head-over-heels, thinking this-is-my-absolute-favorite-book-boyfriend. I love his naughtiness and he’s big warm heart and he has pulled me back even more times than I can count.

Reading this sequel only made me fall even harder.

As any of Carian Cole’s books, this one was well written, emotional, sweet and well constructed.
I couldn’t honestly have wished for a better sequel.

Thank you for once again making me swoon and sigh. You absolutely did every single character justice <3

I can’t wait to read what you get up-to next xx

Storm, wow he is so much more than a sexy broody man. Carian can make you swoon hard for these bad boys of music! I loved seeing more of Storm & Evie's hea. This was a short quick read with so a nice glimpse into their future. This only problem I had was it was just too short & I wanted more about everyone!! The Ashes & Embers crew are full of hot sexy swoony men who find wonderful other halves. I highly recommend this book, but only after reading books 1-4 of this series, especially book 1.

Storm doesn't care who he tells his plans for his woman to, "Storm winks at me from across the kitchen. “We’re going to christen every room when you guys leave.” Storm can admit when he's wrong, “Baby, I’m sorry I yelled at you. This really caught me off guard.” I loved this book, I loved seeing the gang again and I loved seeing Storm and his woman.
