It only takes a few hours for Yick Lee and Carter Lyle to realize that they’ve picked the wrong day to start working for Lorne Wayne. For the last two years Lorne has feuded with Alistair Marriott over the ownership of the Silver Gulch mine. But now the mine’s giant protection man, Abe Mountain, is hell-bent on ripping apart that feud by blasting into oblivion anyone who stands in his way. Lee and Carter face a desperate battle to uncover the buried truths about the mine. But can they succeed? And can Abe’s guns be silenced? Only then can the Silver Gulch feud come to an end.
“Silver Gulch Feud” reminded me of those pocket-sized comics for men I remember from my teens. Lots of action, very little dialogue, and not even slightly believable. At the heart of it stands Abe Mountain, a giant of a man. Everyone thought he died in a mine collapse that killed almost 30 men, but he's back and on the rampage. His message is clear – join me or die! His plan is to kill the two mine owners he blames for his near-death experience. Standing between Abe and absolute mayhem are the hapless Yick Lee and his friend Carter Lyle. It's dreadful stuff but mercifully short. 1 Star.
