These books are the best way to quickly pick up enough of a language to make you feel comfortable traveling there. Plus, they come with tear-out menus that you can carry around with you to avoid mystery meat!

This book is not terrible as an introduction to Italian. It's a good start on vocabulary building. And the CD-ROM is a good learning aid.

There is a typographical error on page 77. The word for Irish (plural masculine) should be "irlandesi," not "irlandsi."

these foreign language books at first remind you of days in kindergarten...but it's a great way to learn...and I'm filled with great memories of a Friday night Italian I and II class that I took with a great friend...a Rumanian teacher that makes me smile and a room full of strangers with one thing in common...Italy
