Found this helpful, even as a second time mom. I will say it has been hard to find some of the pdfs referenced in the audiobook as Callisto Media was bought out, so it would be nice if a revision was made.
This was last minute preparation before the babies arrive. I just wanted to read one more thing to feel a bit more ready (yes, I know this is a bit of wishful thinking on my part). The first few chapters seemed like review and were stages I was well past. The sleeping chapter was helpful to get some more ideas on how to handle things when they first arrive. I also liked some parts that discussed what to put in the bag for the hospital - there were some ideas I hadn't thought of so will implement them.
I did bookmark their blog just to make sure I had that available to me, though with every baby book, it is kind of picking and choosing what is right for your family.
As a third time mom, I felt this book gave good information; however, much of it applied to bringing any newborn home and wasn’t as specific to multiples as I’d have liked. It was a good read as a refresher, but it wasn’t the trove of information specific to twins that I was looking forward to reading.
While this book has a lot of overlapping information with preparing to have one kid, I still found it helpful as we gear up for twins. I thought the most helpful/amusing/entertaining parts were the different twin stories sprinkled throughout each section on how parents specifically applied an idea or endured a season.
Lots of practical information, but most of it was not 'twin-specific.' I also had trouble receiving child-rearing advice from someone who hired a night nurse and called it 'an investment in my parenting.'
I was already a fan of authors'/ twin moms Jenn & Meghan's "Two Came True Blog" given the helpful topics, resources and personal perspective offered. Their book didn't disappoint and I loved how they maintained their relatable / helpful voice coupled with a deep dive of topics I was most curious about (i.e. Feeding, Sleep Schedules) as well as supporting resources from other twin parents and credited sources to back their personal claims and tips. They also provided printouts for schedules and journaling opps / questions for parents to ask themselves in preparation (excellent for couples!) This is a great, useful and quick read for expecting parents of multiples.
