With this book, we try to bring a modern twist to the old style of fairy tales when stories had nice, and important morals to learn from. It has many great positive, and self-affirming messages. Beautifully illustrated, the book, as though written by Santa himself, brings up important fundamental morals for parents to start conversations with their child. In the book we provide easy tools and ideas to teach kids about setting goals, gratitude, always looking for the positive side of things, to have a happy, loving life through strong family bonds, etc. Additionally, the book is divided into 16 chapters, perfect for bedtime stories, and most episodes have one of our favorite bedtime prayers to enjoy together. This book is also beneficial in confronting sensitive subjects like illness and death, and we all know how curious kids can be about these types of topics. We have a sweet spot in our hearts for kids with cancer, and with our story, we would like to support them by writing this book in a way to make a legend for them, and in a way that our young ones can relate too. Our story is a heartwarming children’s chapter book that expands on two girls whose friendship forms when the two meet on a playground, and then blossoms as their single parents fall in love and get married. However, their faith is tested when the oldest girl is stricken with cancer, allowing the family to embark on adventures and make long-lasting memories before it is too late. The family will make you laugh and will make you cry, but most of all, they will make you feel good inside for all the small things we should enjoy in life. With this story, we also encourage kids to use their imagination and their thoughts in a way that can help them find answers to their problems. We have adventures, talking dogs, a magical Christmas Tree, a magic bell and of course a beautiful angel. In the end, as the mystery of where elves come from is revealed, we hope that they will also believe in the power of a little magic! This is probably the most important lesson for kids; to “believe.” If they believe in themselves, they will see that they can have and do anything they want. Our Our mission with this book is to give young children a positive base from which to have a meaningful life. We can determine our kid’s future by helping them evolve through the use of their imagination and creativity. From an early age, we can help children to be compassionate for others, have self-confidence, be enthusiastic, have the courage to act on their beliefs and to succeed in their lives in every way so that they may have a happy, joyful life. We also want to have this book as a dedication to children with cancer for their spirit and no quit attitudes. We want to make them known and unforgettable, and we want to give them a little hope until someone comes up with the cure to save them all! Perhaps, along the way, we will also create a legend for Santa’s Elves?
Santa Claus, the personification of the spirit of Christmas, usually represented as a jolly fat old man with a white beard and a red suit, brings gifts to good children on Christmas Eve.
This is a beautiful feel-good Christmas story about two wonderful girls Anna and Suzy who grew to develop a wonderful relationship. Even though they were some years apart in age, Anna being the elder one became a sister to Suzy after their parents got married. As the story progressed, they both went through many situations in which they learnt how to trust in each other, believe in their dreams and also be there for one another.
The book is such an emotional tale… you go from happy to excited to sad and hopeful. In the midst of it all, that’s exactly how life and reading this with the kids was a great teaching experience. The notes at the end of each chapter are a summary of the moral and life lesson in each chapter which is presented in an easy-to-understand way for kids to enjoy and even relate to.
The book addresses so many life experiences that can be terrifying for children and helps then understand the importance of family and friendship. The fraternal relationship between Anna and Suzy was also put to the test several times and used to pass along important lessons to Suzy.
The best part of this book for me is that it is both fun and highly educational. The author did an excellent job of both educating and entertaining readers. There’s very little I would change about the book as my kids really loved it. In fact, I’ve read it to them several times already. The book is a wonderful departure from the typical happy tale where children don’t really learn much. The balance between teaching and fun is a testament to the writing ability of the author.
I would gladly recommend this book to the family to add to their reading list because it goes way beyond the price. The illustrations are so beautiful and relatable. Santa notes are also fun to read and make excellent conversation starters with kids to help them understand difficult concepts.
A great read for everyone in the family, both kids and adults.
I had never found a book that was totally enlightened in my youth and wanted to attempt to bring my young son up knowing that books are still important. I enjoyed the ‘Where Elves Come From’ but more so as knowing my son enjoyed it as well. It’s a rare find to be able to read for children and also as an adult you both enjoy the story. What I liked the most about this book is that even though I was reading to both my son and me, it was intriguing and captured his imagination and for me it gave me a sense of gratitude, the story really brings to life some of the challenges we face but written so you can appreciate the realities and also touched on subjects in a way that explained them perfectly to a young child which I myself would not know where to start. The story will take you on a journey and without giving to much away opens up a new world, one you can engage with from your younger days and also as an adult embrace the meanings within the book to use in life when you need to open up and talk about topics with children.
An amazing book that deserves to be read to be appreciated.
This is a fabulous children’s book with incredible bed time stories. I could go on and on about the lovely selection of stories, interesting characters, and beautiful environments... and all that would be reason enough to read this book. But the truly exciting feature of Santa's work comes from all these wonderful qualities combined. As fantastical as all these tales are, for the duration of the bedtime story, they become real. Tangible, almost. My three year old and I love the stories in this book. She talks about them long after we've read them, acts them out, etc. They have really made an impression on her. One thing that I love about this book is the variety of length in the stories, so we can pick a story depending on how much time we have to read at bedtime. Each story paves the way for children to use their imagination and picture each adventure in a magical world. This is an awesome collection for kids. I recommend this book for anyone with children that are looking for a fun way to introduce the world of reading to children!
A great way to introduce cancer and death to children and focus on important people in our life. I don’t usually write reviews, but this book truly touched my heart. It is a remarkable family-oriented book with a beautiful, yet unpredictable story. Although the main subject of the book is very serious and discusses cancer and death, somehow, because it is written by “Santa”, the book surprised us with it’s very cute and uplifting story full of hope. Over 16 short chapters, the family will capture your hearts as they take you with them on through interesting adventures and share with you some wonderful messages, gorgeous illustrations, positive morals, and even a few bedtime prayers that you can enjoy with the kids. The story teaches us that it is important always to be grateful for all we have, and that we are never too old to believe in a little magic. I “really, really” enjoyed this book and recommended it to everybody.
This is a wonderful Christmas fairy tale. And it’s just in time for the holiday season. Two girls Anna and Suzy start off as friends, at a meeting in the park they meet, and their parents fall in love. Soon they become a family. What follows is a journey of never-ending surprises. This is a nice read for kids. Something you can read during this Christmas season every night to your children. Its format is slightly different as each chapter has a moral at the end which can be used to teach kids something valuable. As we gear up for the Christmas season and Advent, I think this book would be a wonderful gift for kids and school libraries. If you’re looking to a story book that also drives home a message or as a teaching tool for homeschooling, I think this would be perfect.
Where Elves Come From is a beautiful book, and I did not expect it to be such a powerful story. The book has 16 chapters, and we were planning to read one chapter every night, but we ended it up reading the whole story at once. Now we are starting it over again, one chapter per weekend, and we are discussing Santa’s questions together as a family. Then the kids take the time to write their answers to Santa’s questions, which he has at the end of each chapter. The book teaches something of value, and that children can apply to their daily living immediately. I also have to say that after reading this book, I will look at Santa ’s elves differently😊. Very nice book and I recommend it for all ages.
I really enjoy all things Christmas so when I read the description of this book I knew it was going to be good. I loved that this book was written by the one and only St. Nick himself. I think all too often we forget Christmas is for magic and mystery, so having the author title be Santa was a really cute touch.
This book is so much more than just your average Christmas book. This book teaches some very important morals that will be good to have your child learn. It also creates much-needed conversations around some sticky subjects for your kids.
I loved reading all the values in this book. It contains very important messages through fairytales. It teaches about love, compassion, and so much more, in bite-size pieces that kids can take in.
I love Christmas stories; it popped in to my head to read it as a family so I read it, then came here as I always do to see what others are thinking. Here's my thought, this book is awesome. I have read this book many times, and think it's really interesting. This is a book that will boost morals for both young and old readers and it will touch your heart deep down. It's a tradition in me to read/watch A Christmas Story on Christmas or Christmas break. I have considered this piece to be a Christmas classic for adults and kids. It is hilarious, has wonderful message, and it's loveable and relatable. Generally, I would consider this book perfectly appropriate for us... Highly Recommended
I think this book is going to be a new Christmas classic. I bought this book for my niece; she loves storybooks. Before I gave it to her, I had some alone time, and I decided to read a few chapters from the book. I could not put it down! It is a very relatable and enjoyable story, and of course, now I want to know the end.
I now look forward to reading it with my niece. I highly recommend this book to everybody!
An unforgettable story. It touched our hearts deeply. It made us cry, and it made us laugh. Where Elves Come From has wonderful messages for children, and it also has very cute nighttime prayers. Santa leaves the readers with short messages at the end of each chapter that make for great teachable inspirational and moral lessons that also make for great family discussions. Highly recommended for everybody.
A book for everyone- kids, teens, and adults. one of the best fairy tale books that have come across this year. The ending was great too. The best Christmas story for christmas season....Highly recommended.
This is a great book for young children. Parents and grandparents will enjoy reading this chapter book to them and they will enjoy reading it by themselves. Perfect to read at Christmastime!
A beautifully illustrated book. The authors tackle a very difficult subject in a sensitive and sweet way. Aimed towards Christian families, this is the story of a little girl who is suffering from cancer told from Santa’s point of view. An emotional journey indeed. Well done for tackling this subject. Just one thing though, as a dolphin lover, I don’t like the chapter about swimming with dolphins! Dolphins should be wild and free!
This is one of those novels that you never expect what you’re about to get but what you get is awe-inspiring. The life lessons from Santa at the end of each chapter are good conversation pieces for adults and children alike. Whereas my own children are currently too young to understand and appreciate this book, I can’t wait until they are older and we can enjoy this novel together. A simply beautiful story.
There is not one negative thing i would say about this book the story was beautiful. I could not hold back the tears from sliding down my face. Santas commentary after every chapter keeps the children engaged. I hope the authors continue to write long after this series is over.
What a fantastic story! It brought smiles, laughs, and tears-the good kind. Thank you for a delightful read and for bringing back many wonderful memories.
