I expect full submission from you, sweetheart.

Those are the words of my master, James Maxwell, a dark billionaire elite who rules the underground business world.

My name is Mia Donovan, a twenty-two-year-old, small-town girl who has signed a contract with the billionaire in exchange for my brother’s freedom and protection.

My world has changed—both for better and worse.

James Maxwell is the man behind this. I’m fascinated, mesmerized by this dark charm that binds me to him, entrapping me in his dominating embrace. I’m captured, ensnared, and I have no desire to escape. I’ve fallen in love with him, which hurts because it is unrequited. To him, I’m merely a toy for his enjoyment. What’s worse, my life is at risk because I’m too close to the powerful man who has too many enemies.

And so our story continues…

Congratulations on the 3rd instalment of Chained to You: Trapped!

Mia, James and Mia's brother, Andy, go through a lot in this novella, and I liked how all the characters' stories have progressed. James and also Max have started to reveal their better side. And also Mia realises her love and trust on James.

James is the perfect alpha male. Hot, handsome and wants everything under his control. Mia is a shy, innocent, naive girl. Her being so dense is what I love about her. Although in this novella she has become quite understanding and mature. Also she has realised her feelings for James. Andy and Max express their love for each other and Mia finally comes to know that her brother is gay.

I love this story so much. I read the whole story in like one go. Alexia always keeps us cliffhanging at the end of the story, which is not fair. But I love this series so much that I am waiting for its next instalment. There are entries of new characters that we might see in the coming instalments. Although I missed James daughter, Aria.

I am just waiting for what will happen once the 5-year contract gets over. Will James let Mia go? Or will Mia be able to give up her feelings for James and move on?

For people who are into intense love stories where hot alpha billionaires sweep poor, innocent, and beautiful girls of their feet, I totally recommend them this book and series. You should totally go for it. Its amazing!!

*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

In this third volume, James and Mia's sexual passions have darkened slightly into the dominance and submissive domains. It would be utterly wrong if Mia didn't enjoy his dark ways.

There is a surprise point-of-view from Scott and William. I love the introduction of a new female friend for Mia. It is great to see friendship blossoming between the two. Mia's protectiveness and caring side really shines

What brings the rating down is the disappointment at the way the Mexicans were handled. The scenes are build up and then poof. Nothing. No danger, no tension, no life and death were felt. The face-off with the Mexicans is way too anti-climatic and over way too quickly for my liking. I expected more perilous, blood-curdling scenes and wanted more out of the fight scenes. The potential, the build up is there but those scenes did not deliver.

On a brighter note, I love the way the aftermath of the kidnapping is handled. Very believable.

James is still a mystery and I hope he opens up to Mia and/or the readers soon. And how old is he exactly?? So far, I am liking Scott more than James. Oops.

Another cliffhanger ending...

I'm a huge fan of Alexia Praks and her work. I'm loving the book though I wasn't particularly fond of the constant reminder of him being a 'handsome billionaire' or 'billionaire'. I felt like I came across it on every page. Overall I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series once I get my hands on it. Keep being awesome

I forgot i read this trilogy before. These books were written in 2nd person. It's like reading in audio. Too many chapters of Mia.
Which means this story is from her view point.

I gave all three books a 5 rating as I loved the story. However the 3rd person POV was very weird and some inconsistencies in the storyline. It didn’t detract from how much I loved the books though.

This part seemed boring to me in the plot wise and didn’t go forward. But chemistry and intimate scenes are pretty good & chemistry between Mia and James is very hot.

Review

'Trapped' is the third instalment in the 'Chained to You' novella series. I really looked forward to this novella and my expectations were high. Sadly, this novella just didn't do it for me and I am starting to gradually loose interest in the series.

One of the things that have brought down my rating of this novella was the amount of swearing. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like the amount of cursing that appeared in the writing increased with each new novella. Sometimes I felt like the amount of swearing was directly proportional with the character's inability to express certain emotions of to properly convey their ideas and/or thoughts. I didn't mind the swearing/cursing/profanities most of the time, but it certain brought down the quality of the novella when the characters would start swearing every sentence because they tried to express their "manliness" and "turmoil" over actually experiencing realistic emotions.

I understand that this was an advanced reviewer's copy, however the typos and misspellings definitely made themselves known. I disliked them mainly because the format that I received my ARC in was polished and looked final. There were also some minor grammatical errors and turns of phrasing that struck me as odd and in definite need of a look through.

I found that the way the villains and "bad guys" behaved in this series were completely unbelievable. I cannot express how laughable some of their attempts at being cruel and sadistic were. I felt absolutely NO danger from them. Just pity for their inadequacy as characters.

Yet another poor habit which one of the characters presented was Mia. She often refers to herself moaning/groaning/screaming in pleasure as her "sexual cry". Why? I have not idea, but I found this phrasing distasteful and annoying. As well her inability to refer properly to James's manhood by calling it "man root" and her own womanhood as "down there". Her helplessness and naïveté is starting to grow a little bland.

Congratulations to Alexia Praks on publishing the third instalment in the 'Chained to You' series.

Rating Plan
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn't like it, didn't find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn't bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!

Huh!?

This book has a lot of typos, wrong word selection. It feels like it was written by a child. I know Mia is innocent but, she is not a child and not stupid but, this series makes her look like it. Also is written with a British flare, even though all characters are American. I am not a fan of jumping around to the other characters either. Mia is in love with James but, is scared she will only be a "pet" or mistress to him. James is in love with Mia though he is denying it and pushing it away. Mia is devoted and James knows it. The sex is plentiful but, rather boring really. The foreplay is short and all above the waist. If your going to write dark, sexy novels at least make the sex worth reading about. I have been enjoying this series, this book irritated me but, the story is still worth reading.

No, no, no - Volume by volume they just keep getting worse! It's like we've substituted character strength for more touchy feely adjectives that contribute zero value to the overall story and the only purpose it could serve is to increase word count. What's worse is I love a good "sappy" so I feel I'm very patient on this BUT it needs to be believable and right now it's jumping straight into... I don't even know where? It's a pathetic storyline now and I'm so disappointed. I keep spending money on the next volume and I don't know why!!
Positives however is it has SO MUCH potential (concept, fundamentals are there) but the way it's written? Not my style. Maybe someone else though, obviously. It's received a few 5 stars.
Maybe it's me?

I know i keep saying this but it's true. I love this series.
Mia has fallen in love with James but she knows that for him she's just his mistress, she knows that James won't ever fall in love with her.

What James feels for Mia..is it love?

I am so happy for Andy.

Third series, gotta admit the love Matt has for Andy is just super adorable and possessive. Really love how Alexia has incorporated not only just make to female but male to male too. Mia is super caring as a big sister but sometimes she can be way too clueless and that gets annoying to some degree depending on the person. Overall it's a continuation for book 2 and so far not too much disappointment. It's a nice read if dream of billionaires and ordinary girls falling in love under not so normal circumstances. Great Work Alexia!

First of all i would like to say my deepest appreciation to Alexia Praks! Srsly! I love this series and i can't wait for the stories of the other characters. I love the character of Mia, sweet, thoughtful but strong. I love how caring she is to her brother. Very natural. And yeah here comes James Maxwell, uber sexy-alpha male. I'm a sucker for dark sexy, possessive, dominant but sweet hero. A very nice story with a very interesting twist and scenes.
