In this autobiography you get to see the chaos and eccentricity that reigned over Alexi’s mind, a chaos needed to reach greatness. Second to none when it came to playing the guitar, Alexi allows us to have a deeper insight into his life beyond the music, even if music was his life. It is inspiring how Alexi is so open about his mental struggles, about how he learned to deal with his demons, about how he transformed those demons that were destroying him into motivation and inspiration for his music. In terms of music knowledge and ability to perform, Alexi must be considered one of the greatest ever, a talent like his is unique, and his love for music pushed him to further work on being even better. While reading this book, it is easily perceived how Alexi was one of a kind, eccentric, sometimes difficult to deal with, but mostly a music lover that wanted to share his love for his music with all of us.
The last chapter of this book gains a whole new depth after you know that Alexi sadly passed away in December 2020. Reading how excited he was about his future with his new band, how happy he sounded about having found a new partner and having a stepdaughter, how he talks about how he is looking forward towards the future, it really makes you realize that no matter what you hope, death is merciless.
An amazing talent that was gone too soon. Rest in peace Alexi!
