Sheepdog With a Black Belt

Rate this book
As a student of the Martial Arts Paul Landreth-Smith found that he kept learning that he had holes in his 'game'. Starting with striking in Kickboxing and Tae Kwon-Do he moved on to Aikido, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and MMA before delving into the world of Krav Maga. Parallel to this were his experiences of real fights as a doorman and Police Officer where his skills were tested and often found to be lacking and how he tried to reconcile his training with real life. This book explores his experiences, the lessons he learnt and acts as a guide for those looking for what may suit them best to train in or how their existing system would fare in actual combat. Martial Arts is full of ego and controversy and so not all will agree with his point of view but this book gives a snapshot of someone trying to use his skills as a protector for society as well as the challenges faced by those who choose to do so.
