7/10:Good solid read, something to get your teeth into.
“Should I be expecting a call from the admiral as to your court martial?”
I like Mao. A much-needed counterpoint to Bayne's impulsiveness. That's not to say I don't like Bayne. But Bayne is still confused about who he is and it's nice to read the scenes with Mao because there is absolutely no confusion there as far as the XO is concerned.
I'm enjoying this series; it's not a Top-Reads series but is enjoyable.
Captain Bayne (The Deep Black, Book 2) Short on science, this is a character/story controlled military space adventure. Learn more about what knocks Captain Bayne off the rails and what he does about it. Quite a swashbuckeling story, put it on your TBR list. I received a copy for free on promotion and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
Another solid episode following Captain Bayne as he trys to confirm who ordered the destruction of the rangers who did not join the United Systems Navy. Plenty of action with a great twist that I did not see coming
This author knows how to write sci-fi. Always very descriptive with a story that keeps your attention. This is another great series in that genre. Very interesting characters that I look forward to going along with on their adventures.
