Katee Robert brings us a mixture of steamy and sweet in the latest in her Make Me series, as Trish and her older brother’s best-friend, Cameron prove the truth to the opposites attract theory.
Maybe it was time to throw caution to the wind.”
Whilst Trish and Cameron were entirely likeable, their story didn’t particularly hold much substance, and although there was one particular romantic moment, overall that aspect was lacking a bit for me in this one. Nevertheless, an easygoing, sexy read between two people deserving of their HEA.

This was a good story but it was missing some of the big romanctic moments for me. Cameron and Trish's relationship moves pretty quickly, and I was okay with the fast pace, but I missed the connection between them since there seemed to be an overabundance of scenes that didn't have much substance. Still an enjoyable read but left me wanting more.
Another good book with Aaron's sister and business partner (who is yummy even if he is a grump). Some angst and drama plus hot sex, but yet again not epilogue. They get together and done.
I seriously love Katee Robert's novels. They are sexy, emotional and always fantastic! Make Me Need was a delicious office read between boss and employee/bestfriend's little sister. Trish and Cameron were so captivating that I did not once lift my head from the page. I never wanted it to end.
When Cameron O' Clery is forced to deal with his best friend and business partner's younger sister, Trish, as their new employee, he never expected the level of attraction he would have for her. This novel was so addicting and Cameron's grouchy, surly personality hid the smoldering man inside. Gah!! I legit wanted to jump him myself!
While I loved the story I did feel that the beginning was a little rushed as I would have loved more build up before their first kiss/connection. It almost felt like we were dropped into their story at the twenty percent mark as it seemed to move very rapidly. But despite this, I loved their feelings and connections and especially being in Cameron's head as it was so nice seeing his feelings for Trish. I absolutely cannot wait for more from this author! 4 stars! ~Ratula
Make Me Need by Katee Robert is a face paced, entertaining and steamy read. I enjoyed the storyline and I enjoyed watching Trish and Cameron come together.
Overall Make Me Need is a good lazy Sunday afternoon read and I highly recommend it.

Make Me Need by Katee Robert is the latest steamy and enjoyable romance in her Make Me series, with some familiar characters popping up and a brand new couple getting their HEA.
Trish Livingston needs money, so a temporary job with her brother Aaron’s security firm while he’s on paternity leave is just the ticket. Of course she’ll have to work in close quarters with Aaron’s partner, surly Cameron O’Clery. Though he does his best to avoid her, one sizzling encounter is all it takes to reveal the truth – that Cameron is attracted to his best friend’s sister. Is it doomed from the start or will this couple find something long lasting?
I expected something else when i read the blurb. I love office romance but this one, for a short book was very long to happen and i didn't feel the attraction. I skipped most of it... I wish i didn't picked up this series lol I love this author works (the wicked villain series for example) but not this one.
She was desperate in so many ways. She couldn’t, not for another day, live with her parents. For both their sakes. It had been two years since she graduated and her ability to find a job was disheartening. She knew her mom was liking it too much having her home plus she had student loans to pay and a bank account with zero dollars.
She asks her brother, Aaron for a job, which worked well for them both since his girlfriend just gave birth to the first child. He helped her get into her apartment since their place would be crowded with the new baby. So, she was set. He did warn her about his cranky business partner, but she wasn’t worried.
Her brother wants her to redecorate the place to make more client-friendly. As well as be an asset with business meetings in order to keep ‘Mr. Happy’ in line. Well, on the first day he’s already pissed he calls her accident-prone because she was painting, and she may have fallen off the ladder and he caught her. He said she didn’t belong.
Camron is tall, dark, and handsome. He’s quiet for the most part, in a soothing way and cranky when he’s not. As time goes on the two do some major bonding in the form of major arguments, quips of one-up-man-ship, and cranky can joke if you listen carefully. As time goes on, they even talk. Until Trish kisses him.
Yup, she can’t explain it. Luckily after kissing her back. He takes steps back as her employer letting her know this is going to go nowhere.
I totally enjoyed this couple. They took off each other’s masks and got down to the nuts and bolts of who they are. Sometimes they got gold and sometimes coal. Their outcome unsure but they were hopeful until they weren’t.
Make Me Need was another short, sweet, and sexy read! These books are a lot of fun and Make Me Need was another fantastic addition. This time we get the story of Trish and Cameron. Trish is a hardworking young woman who has undertaken a position at her brother's firm as she is in desperate need of some money. The only issue is that she has to work with Cameron, her brother's best friend and business partner. Cameron is a renowned awkward grump and Trish is thrown off by him, especially because he isn't a man of many words, but he can definitely destroy you with his eyes. This was very much of an opposites-attract romance and it was entertaining to watch Trish and Cameron dance around each other. The chemistry between them was sizzling and it culminated in some seriously hot sexy-times. Though Cameron remains his surly, grumpy self throughout most of the book, we get to see his more vulnerable side emerge around Trish. She had a way of bringing his emotions to the surface. I liked their pairing a lot as I thought they balanced each other well. I don't read a lot of short stories, but Katee Robert does them well, so if she decides to release more books in this series, I will certainly be reading them.
This is my second Katee Robert book, and while she can definitely write some steamy scenes, the characters in this one fell flat for me. Trish's youngness comes through from the start and somehow seems to get worse the more I read. Now, I remember being 24 and thinking I knew everything, which I obviously did not, so maybe that's why it was hard to read. And even though Cameron tried to be supportive and encouraged her to be honest with herself and grow, she pretty much dug her heels in more. That's what made the HEA so unbelievable. They both literally spend the whole entire book telling each other it's not going to work out and then everything falls into place at the end. I might have bought this as a "happily for now" book, but when you start bringing up having babies about knowing each other 7 days it's a bit much.
What happens when your boss is: Unfiltered handsome Grumpy Sexy
You ignore two out of the four and have some wicked dirty dreams of your boss. Because that makes working together that much tolerable.
Whoa!! I loved this book. Actually, I've loved this whole series from the very start. In Make Me Need, the tense chemistry between Trish and Cameron made those scenes so much hotter. I love how Trish is light to Cameron's dark personality. I love how determine and strong she is despite her internal doubts.
When it comes to writing some hot, sexy scenes Katee Robert has that down to a science. This series about sexy workplaces has been a fun ride. You need this book in your list to read.
This is a brother’s best friend/sister forbidden romance book. Trish is working at her brother’s company while he is on paternity leave. Cam is his business partner who becomes attracted to Trish even though he knows that he shouldn’t be. The chemistry between the two characters was there but that was it. It seems like the rest of the story was forced between the characters. It was an ok story. I wish that I would have read the other 3 books in this series. This book was a standalone and could be read without reading the others. I have read her other books and I will continue to read them but this one just didn’t hit the mark with me.
I received an ARC of this book on Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Make Me Need is a sexy workplace romance with her older brother's best friend. Yes, you read that right. Jot, naughty fun with her older brother's best friend. Sigh...
Cameron is the "robot" friend. The seemingly unfeeling, blunt @ssholish guy who is so hot he melts your brain! That's what this poor mortal girl is up against. I mean really, how could she possibly fight her hormones against all Cameron is. I wont even tell you about his "skills" outside the office. Hello, handsome!
Make Me Need is the perfect pick me up for a midweek, weekend, or slow day! Sexy, fun, and sweet, Make Me Need has all the bases covered.
“Every single word was that blend of sweet and sharp, until it was a wonder he didn't bleed out on the floor at her feet.”
“He wanted her to look at him the way she looked at London. To feel about him the way she felt about fucking Ferris wheels. He wanted to be her magic.”
I received an ARC of this story and it just wasn't holding my interest. If you enjoy best friend's little sister plus workplace forced proximity, this one may work for you, I just decided to move on.
Oh gosh, these two are crazy hot together. Trish pushes all of Cameron's buttons and he manages to pull all the right strings. And somehow they are exactly what the other needs. But old habits die hard and they can't help getting in the way of their own happiness. Breaking the rules is what these two need to do. They might just be my favourite couple of the series.

The Story in 4 Sentences or Less: Trish Livingston needs money fast so her brother offers her a job that she can't refuse. The problem is that she has to put up with grumpy Cameron O'Clery who just happens to be very easy on the eyes. Cameron isn't a people person but he has to try and work with her because she's his best friend's sister. Working that close together is bound to create some serious sparks between two people who couldn't be more opposite or more attracted to each other.
Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? Awkward grump meets determined firecracker in Katee Robert’s Make Me Need.
Trish and Cameron couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. She has an outgoing, friendly personality, and he’s competing for the Grump of the Century award. I liked both characters enough for the story to be fun for me but because of its fast pace and short length, I did feel like I didn’t get enough time to get to know them.
The one thing that did catch my attention is that Make Me Need is an interracial romance but I didn’t know that until a reference to skin color is made later in the story. It would have been nice to have been upfront about that in the beginning and then delve a little into that character’s background a bit more because between the two of them, I liked that character more. There was potential for some fleshing out and making that character really stand out.
Overall, Make Me Need is that kind of read that’s perfect for those lingering evenings when all the chores are done and you need something to go with that glass of wine. Something sexy AF, uncomplicated, and quick.
I was very eager to get to this installment from the ending of Make Me Yours. While this is a hot quick read, something was missing for me to fully enjoy it like I did with the other three in the "Make Me" series. It could be the story plot, or the main characters not connecting enough for me. Overall, I will still continue to read Katee's work.

.Trish didn’t do sad. Life was too short to focus on the negative. Trish was drowning in student debt , living with her parents, and the only job she could get was with her older brother Aaron at his cybersecurity company-Tandem Security. He was supposed to introduce her to his partner Cameron and walk her through her responsibilities. But his fiance becka had their baby a week early. Aaron was on maternity leave to bond with his baby. That is what Aaron did- take care of everyone around him. Trish declined his coming in because that was what she did- smoothed waves and gave people what they really wanted. So she went to meet cameron without Aaron. Than a man said,”What do you want?” The looks of this man made her mouth water. Until she realized this was Cameron-Aaron’s partner. She held out her hand than realized cameron wasn’t going to shake it. She knew Aaron said the place needed a bit of a facelift but she now saw that was an understatement. Cameron told her the information for her was in the top drawer of the desk. Do what you want Cameron added. The only thing in the top drawer was a Tandem credit card and a paper account, names and passwords. This would have been easier if she had some guidance. Aaron had hired her to redesign the office. Since she had to start somewhere . the waiting room was where she started. Even bargain shopping, it would take a chunk of change. Trish went out of Cameron’s office to When trish went to Cameron’s office to ask for a budget he told her to spend what she needed to, he would let her know if she got out of line. Aaron wanted her to deal with first time clients preliminary meeting with clients to get a baseline for what service Aaron wanted Trish to go out of her way. Working as a glorified secretary at Aaron’s company At Aaron’s company might not be part of her bright plans for the future, but that didn’t change anything, she would give 100 percent. It was what she did- who she was. She’d be the best damn glorified secretary Aaron and Cameron ever had. Cameron liked his work, liked being occupied by it. All he had was an empty apartment waiting for him. Trish was on a ladder painting long after she should have went home when she fell from the top of the ladder. Cameron caught her, he let himself enjoy the fact of her being in his arms for several seconds before he set her back on her feet. Cameron wanted Trish and that complicated things. Cameron had not bothered to date in longer than he cared to think about. Getting to know someone takes so much work. Usually the woman stormed off before the second date. As he said something wrong, or he didn’t talk enough, or he talked too much about work. Easy enough to pick someone up to take care of his sexual needs but even that had become tiresome lately. Trish was one of the few people in the world who put up with his bs without expecting him to change but also was a genuine friend. He may want to change. He may want trish but she was the one woman he couldn’t touch. Cameron told him to paint the edges he would do the higher up painting. Trish decided to use the extra pair of hands. After they were done Cameron asked what she planned on doing for the front office. trish ‘s main degree was sales with a minor in design. Her dream was to eventually work in corporate fashion, but she knew how to use that skill set to set the tone of a room. Cameron than said “ tell me your plans.” “Please.” When her shoulders brushed her shoulders sent shivers through her body. That she couldn’t quiet control.Than she told him her ideas. She told him that is what she had been hired to do- create the best client - facing aspect of this business as possible. She added that he and Aaron have a company that’s one of the best, and as silly as it might seem presentations matter. Than Cameron told her “One condition, no more painting alone.” Cameron turned to face her, his chest nearly touching her with every inhale. This choked off what she had been about to say. She was caught between wanting him to kiss her and wanting him to back up and let some air back in the room. Cameron walked trish even though she only lived three blocks from the office and felt safe. When she got to her apartment trish swayed to Cameron and went up on her tiptoes and kissed him. The contact shook her right to her bones. Cameron and trish had to go to London to try to sign a big client that would take the company to the next level and they became lovers soon after arriving in London. I enjoyed this book. It was a quick hot read. I really like the pace and plot. I do think Cameron and Trish should have taken more time to know each other. The ending kind of didn’t sit right with me. It was only over the period of a month. I think it should have taken over a longer time. I liked that it showed growth in Cameron. I liked that Cameron was protective of Trish. Trish and Cameron did have hot chemistry. I did like that Trish and Cameron did tried to fight their chemistry. Cameron more than trish as he didn’t do people. It was hard for me to see Cameron dealing with clients as he was so grouchy. I liked that Becka and Trish became close. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--MAKE ME NEED is the fourth instalment in Katee Robert’s contemporary, adult MAKE ME erotic, romance Harlequin DARE series. This is tech specialist and co-owner of Tandem Security Cameron O’Clery, and PA Trish Livingston’s story line. MAKE ME NEED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Trish is the sister of Aaron Livingston (Make Me Yours #3).
Told from dual third person perspectives (Trish and Cameron) MAKE ME NEED follows the building relationship between tech specialist and co-owner of New York’s Tandem Security, Cameron O’Clery, and PA Trish Livingston. Desperate for a job and money, recent college graduate Trish Livingston accepts her brother’s offer to work at Tandem Security, a high tech cyber security firm co-owned by her brother Aaron and his friend Cameron O’Clery. From the outset, Trish’s position within the company, to redesign the offices and reception area, is met with derision by Cameron O’Clery, a man used to working alone. With Aaron on paternity leave, Cameron finds himself working side by side with Trish Livingston, the woman with whom he will fall in love. A working trip to London finds Trish and Cameron pushing the boundaries of work-place romance. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Trish and Cameron, and the potential fall-out as Trish is offered a position in California, a position she readily accepts knowing her time with Tandem Security is coming is only temporary.
The relationship between Trish and Cameron is a best friend’s little sister/work place romance. Trish and Cameron’s attraction to one another is immediate but Cameron tries to keep his distance from the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are reintroduced to Cameron’s partner and Trish’s brother Aaron Livingston but otherwise the secondary characters are limited to Trish’s anxiety ridden mother (via phone) and a client in London England.
MAKE ME NEED is a fast paced, sexy story. The premise is engaging and spicy; the romance is provocative; the characters are energetic and spirited. MAKE ME NEED is a delightful addition to Robert’s MAKE ME series.
Since its inception, I've found that it's hit or miss with Harlequin Dare romances, and while Make Me Need is the fourth book in the author's "Make Me" series, it's the second one I've read, and having given the first novel a 5-star rating, sadly, I'm hard pressed to give this one a 3-star rating.
Make Me Need is a brother's best friend romance, but it's not particularly romantic. Trish Livingston hasn't been able to find a job since she got her degree in sales and marketing, is tired of living at home with her controlling parents and needs to get out and be on her own. Her brother, Aaron, whose pregnant fiance has just given birth to their first child, has taken paternity leave from the company he and his best friend, Cameron O'Clery co-own, Tandem Security. Their office desperately needs a receptionist and a redecorating makeover, and Aaron offers Trish a more than generous salary to take on the job, and even rents her a pricey apartment within walking distance. It's an offer she can't refuse, but she'll have to work with Aaron's partner, the hunky, tall, dark, handsome and totally uncommunicative, Cameron, who she's both attracted to and frustrated by on sight. Cameron, whose last name is O'Clery, led me to assume that he was of Irish heritage, but when Trish first encounters him, we learn that he's African-American. I don't have an issue with interracial relationships, but I haven't the first clue why the author chose this option for her hero, since race has absolutely nothing to do with the story--Cameron could have been purple for all the difference it made.
Trish is pretty, smiling, perky, hard-working and spontaneous, and while Cameron is rather cold, distant and grumpy, she and Cameron strike sparks off each other from the moment they meet. Cameron knows it's wrong to get involved with his employee, just as Trish knows better than to get involved with her boss, but that doesn't stop them, and on a week-long business trip to London, the two can barely stay out out of bed long enough to conduct the business they are in London to conduct.
While the sex scenes are somewhat steamy, the abbreviated backstory of these two characters simply wasn't enough for me to bond with or especially care for either character, and, as is typical with novels in Dare line, from the very beginning to the expected HEA ending, I found this short novel to be rather uneventful, lacing a plot, far too insta-love for my tastes, extremely abrupt and rather unfulfilling. It is, however, well-written, and not a bad read, but nowhere near as engaging as Ms. Robert's first novel in this series. However, if you're looking for a quick, short, sexy read, you may enjoy this novel more than I did.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
I am a huge fan of the best friend's brother and the grumpy/abrupt male troupe. I read the blurb and was totally excited to read this book. This is another short read or 'quickie' as I call 'em.
Trish Livingston has had a hard time getting her life plan to go right and after failure upon failure. She gets offered a job in her brother's company which is especially needed since he's out on paternity leave. Trish is left working with the other co-owner of the company a gruff, tell-it-like-it-is hunk of a man Cameron O’Clery. Cam is notorious for saying the wrong thing and not realizing he's insulted someone until it's too late. Trish takes one look at Cam and can't help but fall into the sparks of chemistry between them.
I didn't quite 'feel' it between the two. I kind of felt a lot of the interactions were just missing something from the conversations to the bedroom times to the development of feels. It was good, but I just felt there was a little something I wasn't getting/connecting with the characters. Maybe I missed something in the beginning but it wasn't until a quarter to halfway through the book that Cam makes a reference to being a black man. I honestly couldn't give two figs about race/ethnicity but I could have loved some comments on his skin tone or something. It kind of messed with my internal picture of the characters and how they looked during certain parts etc. And to be honest, I would have loved at least 1 mention of the contrast of skin colors, his caramel/warm/brown/mahogany/dark velvet skin tone (come on people, give me something!!). You can mention something once or twice without beating an idea into the ground. I was also frustrated about the quickness of feels, the seeming necessity for a plan but the lack of willingness to discuss things, and the climax of the story. It all felt a little contrived.
All in all, I did enjoy the book. As there was little issue with the best friend afterward, I would say that the book falls firmly into the grumpy male troupe. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

I didn't realize going in that this was the fourth book in a series by new to me author Katee Robert, but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. This is also my first read from the Harlequin Dare line, which based on this read is spicier than the traditional Harlequin titles I'm used to. For me this book was just okay. It was a very quick read and the entire story only spanned a couple of weeks so the relationship went from zero to sixty in no time. I feel like the love story was both really simple, but also more complicated than it needed to be all at the same time. Trish is a struggling recent college grad who can't find a job in her field. To get her out of her parent's house, her brother offers her a job at his cyber security firm while he is out on paternity leave. Enter Cameron, brother's gruff best friend and business partner. There is instalust the moment they set eyes on each other, but the whole employee/boss, best friend's little sister situation makes them decide to keep their hands off. That lasts for about five minutes. I'm all for good sex scenes in books, and these were pretty good, but I didn't feel as though there was enough development of the characters, their feelings, or their relationship. In fact, both Trish and Cameron wonder through out the book if their relationship was being held together by all the hot sex. I don't think there was enough getting to know you, and the issues that they did discuss were always about Trish and quite honestly she started to come off as whiny. I felt like Cameron was still unknown to me by the end of the book, and to Trish for that matter. That's why I had an issue with the massive declaration at the end. No spoilers but drastic life changes were made for a relationship that had lasted less than a month. I think it could have ended with an acceptable happy for now, but instead it was a HEA that just wasn't believable for me..
Trish goes to work for her brother's company as an interior designer/secretary. She is in desperate need of money and knows she needs this job. While her brother is on paternity leave, she is left to deal with his business partner, Cameron on her own. His people skills need a lot of work and both of them put up walls, although hers are hidden by a sunny disposition. It was interesting to see each of them discover what the other one is really like. Cameron is protective over Trish and she does take it the wrong way quite a bit. Her thoughts were kind of juvenile at times and she seemed to want Cameron to fix everything for her. She claims to realize in her head that she is expecting too much, yet does nothing to correct it. Had a hard time connecting with her on that. Felt she needed to own her choices and consequences and she failed spectacularly. Running from problems seemed to be a thing for her and I felt Cameron showed great restraint in not losing his mind over it. Felt Cameron showed great growth and selflessness. Respected him and what he was willing to do for her. Thought this was a good addition to this series. I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my review.
This is the first book I've read by Katee Roberts and from the description, I was intrigued. However I failed to pick up on some of the things that were alluded to in the description.
The book itself is a sweet romance with a little bit of heat thrown in. Trish is working for her brother's company (although I had trouble figuring what she was supposed to do - maybe Girl Friday?) and finds herself increasingly attracted to Cameron, her brother's business partner.
She is all smiles, sunshine and happiness, who tries really hard to please everyone. He is serious, struggles to understand some of the weird things people do and prefers to be alone most of the time.
While I liked Trish and Cameron's story, there wasn't a lot of depth to it. At times I found it intensely frustrating to listen to Trish bend over backwards to placate her mother, who sounded like she was bordering on some kind of breakdown.
However, if you want an easy read about two people who deserve their happy ending, you'll like this one.
It's always so rewarding when the grumpy male lead is taken down by the sweet and sensitive female who doesn't bow down to his irritable ways. That's kind of the way Make Me Need went. Cameron was 100% grumpy and resistant to Trish's attempts to soften him up. Regardless of his attempts to not succumb to her wiles, he is completely attracted to her and his ability to resist her is hanging by a thread.
We got to know Aaron and Becka in the last book and I really enjoyed their story.. In this one, Aaron is business partners with Cameron but is taking paternity leave with Becka after the birth of their child. He hires his sister, Trish, to help Cameron out in the office during his absence. I like the connection between the books. Unfortunately, I had a more difficult time investing in the relationship between Cameron and Trish. I liked Cameron's grumpy exterior but never really understood why he was that way. Also, once he gave in and slept with Trish, it seems like a lot of his cranky mannerisms just went away.
Overall, it was a good albeit quick read. The fact that these books are fast reads is one of the appeals in my opinion.
Trish takes a temp job in the 2-man high tech company her brother owns with his partner, Cameron. They fall in love, of course, in the best-friend's sister romance. It takes place over a few weeks & the romance ramps up real fast.
The hero is well drawn. A complex man more comfortable with software than people. I found the heroine's motivations murky & she is kind of snarky. We get that she has suffered some sort of career setback that is making her question her path in life & she is quite down on herself. For most of the story she appears to be running from her helicopter mother rather than TO something. There are some inconsistencies with her that I won't detail because that would be spoiling -- but things like saying (or doing) something irrational that provokes Cameron, then giving him a bad time about getting mad because he got provoked. Cameron has the patience of a saint.
Overall not bad, but I liked the hero a whole lot better than the heroine.
