Completely unpredictable and totally awesome!

Just when you think there is no hope for our dynamic duo, something happens to give a little hope, but a minute later they are in another sticky situation. The story of Elias and Tatum trying to Escape the Lodge with their lives is intriguing and suspenseful to say the least.

The pair knows that the Crown and Dagger Society has members everywhere in all aspects of government and they pay off people in police, Federal agencies and other jobs so there almost nowhere to hide. The only thing they can really do is to take down the society if they want to be free.

“After everything I’ve done for you…”
“Yeah, sorry about that,” I said sarcastically. “But you made this monster. You made me think I was a killer my whole life so you could try and mold me into one, just like you.” I spread my arms wide. “So congratulations, you finally had your wish granted. I’m a killer. But we’re not the same. I don’t do it for fun. I do it when I have to. To protect the ones I love.”

Nice ending to the series. I liked it.

The perfect ending to the Dark Dynasty trilogy. Twisted Empire pretty much picks up a few days after where it left off. All I can really say is expect the unexpected. I was biting my nails for so many moments in this story. I was rooting so hard for Tatum and Elias. Yes, their beginning was screwed up, BUT that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve their happy ending. So I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll leave it there are SO MANY PAY OFFS in this book. Agh! So good.

There were some moments that kind of felt like a lull to me, but there were also sweet moments between the mains, and some intense moments with them and other characters. So even though I personally felt there was some slight drag... it all eventually paid off.

All in all this was a great read. My only true complaint is that now it’s over, and there’s nothing else to look forward to!

What if you knew your life had expiration date and you could pencil in the time of your death on a calendar by mere hours? Would your heart race…...would your life flash before your eyes.

Would you see yourself from the smallest fragment of memory and reconnect all the important defining details or how you came to be?

The countdown for Tatum’s life has begun and the Crown and Dagger clock is ticking. Ugh I love how Stella Hart wrapped up this juicy dark disturbing series.

This brilliant author kept me guessing with all the twists and turns…..and now it's over. The ride has come to its climatic stop…..five stars…...but damn what a ride. Five glorious stars baby…...all the way!

Twisted Empire: 4 stars
Full Dark Dynasty Series: 4 1/2 stars

This is the final installment in the Dark Dynasty series, and it definitely delivered the HEA that seemed so improbable at the start of Elias and Tatum's story. This is absolutely not a book that can be read independently; the first 2 books MUST be read before this (and I would also recommend the prequel to provide the full tale). If you have not read them, do not read on as this review will contain spoilers.

At the end of the previous book, we learn that Tatum has been cruelly deceived (once again) by the society as she thought she had finally found her ticket out of her imprisonment. Elias finally woke up and realized the twisted, evil mess that he had been sucked into, and he has become determined to bring them all down. But first thing is first: he must save the woman he has come to love deeply, and he has to convince her that he is telling her the truth about his feelings and his willingness to help. This final part of their story is filled mostly with what I had hoped for: more time with the two main characters as an actual couple. As they hatch a plan to escape and bring down the society, they put their lives on the line, but is it even possible to sink such a well-connected and powerful group, and if not, will they be able to survive as a couple on the run?

What I liked:
--- This final installment gave total closure to the story --- I didn't feel like I was left hanging at the end
--- Steamy goodness
--- As briefly mentioned earlier, it showed the 2 main characters as a couple much more than the previous books

What I didn't like as much:
--- Some things got a little more than wonky at times (ex, SLIGHT SPOILER where they ended up hiding out while hatching their plan --- pretty sure that would have been discovered if in fact it was a place for the ultra-rich in the NE, there was bound to be at least 1 other member of the society who bought in END SPOILER)
--- I get that it is a dark romance, but I am still not sure it was totally believable for me that Tatum was able to fall in love with Elias after all the sh!t he did to her and allowed done to her.

Overall, a satisfying ending to a very interesting (in a dark, disturbing way) story line!

Plot --- 4/5
Main Characters --- 4/5
Supporting Cast --- 4/5
Steam Level --- 3.5/5
Language --- some
Violence --- some
POV --- Dual

I received an advance copy of this book from BookSprout in exchange for my honest review.

I really wanted to love this book. I honestly did but this inconsistency started to annoy me so much, I had to roll my eyes.

Both main characters in previos books, especially in second book did things what people in their position definitely will not do.

For example, Tatum had a betraying body syndrome, which is well whatever, I can survive it and I overlooked it. But this series kind of got me hooked. I started to get very invested. I hoped originally that BBS will not occur, especially his distace of her and she knowing it before she was taken so it made me deflate a bit. That's small, it kept going worse. Then h decided to not fight at all, like literally not at all. I was thinking okay, I forgave her for that because she was kept in seclusion and it kind of made sense. I mean could be, not everyone fights, right? But I personally prefer that, at least some type of fight prior to her breaking point. So Tatum broke, which I loved but then like Jesus from the clouds he appeared and she was cured of suicide and brokenness. I mean, then I got really annoyed. After that both were doing so many stupid naive mistakes. Again, I thought, alright they sre young and stupid.

And now, we arrive to the third book. Suddenly also Elias saw God and got epiphany of being super smart. He finally opened his eyes and saw the real world and somehow, after 24 years of living in a world where paranoia is or should be his middle name, he discovered paranoia. Also Tatum discovered paranoia. That soured my mood considerably.

Bummer but still, loved those conspiracy theories and I mean hello still this series is kind of similar to Epstein story. Maybe it is inspired there, don't know.

Still I liked this series and it was on times intense as hell.

I received a copy of this book from Bookprout to review.

Twisted Empire is the third and final book in the Dark Dynasty Trilogy. Twisted Empire picks up right were Vicious Kings left off too. Make sure that you read the first two books as none of these are standalone. They are amazing!! I have loved every dark and twisted turn that I went through with the character's in this book. Your going to be rooting so hard while biting your nails and sitting on the edge of your seat for Tatum and Elias. Will these two get the happily ever after they deserve. Well you have to just read to find out I promise it is so worth it all.

First off, this trilogy is contains some seriously dark moments, please take the warnings as they are and make the best decision for you. I would like to think that I view everything with an eyes wide open approach and try my best to save any judgments until I truly understand everything. I firmly believe that there is someone for everyone, no matter who that person is. Yes, this also includes the deep, dark creepy people of the world. This trilogy makes me think about that statement. Let's be honest the world is not sunshine and rainbows and this is the author's fantastic storytelling and creativity taking root. This book left me with many thoughts and feelings throughout it. Ultimately, I just absolutely loved reading and getting an ending. I am not a fan of cliffhangers but this trilogy had me captivated from the beginning. The story was well written, contained a lot of dark, hard topics but when the words are fantastically written, it makes it easier to read and get into the story and characters and understand why they make the decisions and behave how they do. I will definitely be adding this author to my watch list for future work.

Final book of 3. Need to read the first two books to understand and enjoy this one.

MFC: Tatum
MMC: Elias

Escaped!!! Tatum and Elias drugged Mellie (good!!!) and switched her place with Tatum. With help from Ben, before he was murdered by the Society, the hide out at the Ark, a post apocalyptic compound for the rich.

Turns out, Tatum wasn't pregnant, like Tobias told them in the last book. She had a large cyst, that ruptures while in hiding. Elias calls the doctor that helped him with his DNA test to come to the Ark. The three of them devise a plan to take down the society.

The plan: arrive at the Lodge in the bloodied clothes, with Tatum heavily sedated to mirror death. Elias will pretend to be using drugs again and keep his father occupied while Tatum sneaks into the office, and transfers incriminating information from a hard drive to her friend Greer (journalism/conspiracy theory friend). It all works out and Greer publishes the article and the evidence. Within a short period the police and FBI raid the Lodge and over the next 18 months there are many arrests, including Tatum's parents.

Tatum and her friend and former captive, Pry, write a book about their experience.

Tatum and Elias marry and get pregnant.

Great series. Highly recommend.

Four "really liked it" stars

A satisfying end to a breakneck-paced series! From start to finish, I was unable to put these books down. No lulls- just suspense, steam, secrets, angst, lies, and more that kept me flying through the pages.

The story of Tatum and Elias was dark, but thankfully not as dark as it could have been. There was abuse of various kinds but really only one incident of physical abuse sticks out to me, and to be fair Tatum's thoughts afterward make it clear she enjoyed even that to a degree. Physical harm/abuse from the MMC to the MFC is typically a no-go for me, but this series handled that scene without making me DNF. Beyond that the pain he caused her primarily took place during "steamy times." Elias also got her verbal consent (questionable as it was) prior to sleeping with her, making it more of a dub-con than a non-con. The mental abuse was prevalent, but that isn't as much of a no-go for me.

There's not much else to say- the experiences these two have are dark. The material in these books is dark. There are deaths. There is torture. This series is certainly not for the fluffy romance crowd. But it is definitely for me!

This was a highly anticipated, explosives finale to this series. I really enjoyed the conclusion to Elias and Tatum's story. It had a fantastic, enthralling storyline that was addictive, I couldn't put it down. I have been obsessed with this series and been continually mulling over scenarios in my head from the previous book to guess where the storyline would go, and most (not all) of where the book went was unexpected.
There was plenty to action and twists in the storyline to keep you enthralled. The writing was incredibly skilful, with suspense, characters that come alive, high emotions and a dark twisted plot.
I didn't find this book elicited the same level of emotional turmoil in me as the two previous books, however this made it easier for me to read. The way the last book ended, I expected a great deal of emotional fallout with the characters or some dramatic way of Elias discovering the truth regarding Ben's death. But although there was a some amount of drama and emotion between them, the truths just suddenly accepted by each character. 4 1/2 Stars

Very satisfying end to a tense, sexy, dark series. It had me on edge and my stomach in knots almost the whole time, and it wraps up all the loose ends with a surprisingly romantic, feel-good finale.

So many of these Crown and Dagger members are horrible, horrible people who need to be removed from the gene pool. Permanently. Or castrated. Either way is fine. I’m not picky. Prison also works, especially since it would allow them to continue their interest in Master/slave relationships (minus the choice...just like Tatum).

(Obviously, prison rape is wrong, but this is fiction. And, if any fictional characters deserve a little nonconsensual, one-sided, power exchange, it’s these rich, entitled, sadistic pervs.)

Based on the beginning of the series, I never would have imagined Elias could be so sweet and funny and…normal, especially after being raised by an absolute monster like his father. Thank goodness for nannies, right?

In the final part of Dark Dynasty, the Twisted Empire by Stella Hart, Tatum finally breathes the fresh air of freedom with the help of Elias. The one who was her captor is turned into her savior. After Elias knowing about his father in Vicious King(Dark Dynasty Book 2), he pledges to save his love Tatum. How they both escape from the Crown and Dagger Lodge and How they expose about the secret society to the world is the remaining story. I was eagerly waiting for this book for the past one month after finishing Vicious King and this book came fulling my waiting. This book really worth the wait, and hence I'm leaving a voluntarily review as soon as I received the ARC. The story was a fast paced story with page turner but in the middle the story takes a slow pace that deviates the story and becomes like a speed breaker, other than that this was a wonderful book. So, I'm giving a 4.5 star.

In this Twisted Empire you never know whom you can trust...

I don't even know where to start to give the review that will give this book justice. This book and whole series is just brilliant! It is dark, twisted, full of passion, emotions, action and whatever else you are looking for in the dark romance story. It has dark evil creatures who are ruling the world from the comfort of Crown and Dagger empire. But there are also rays of hope that maybe, some day, all this cruelty will be stopped.
I was waiting impatiently for the conclusion of the series and I'm not disappointed. Not sure how I wanted this to end but what author has presented made me read this book late into the night. I was not able to fall asleep till I finished reading. I don't want to give anything away so just grab a book and start reading. I'm very confident that you won't be disappointed.

I am voluntarily giving my honest review of this arc. Of all the series I've read, this one was beyond anything I could have predicted or imagined. This final book, "Twisted Empire," was in a few short words the worst case scenerio and best book I've read. Tatum and Elias are HOT, HOT, HOT together. The path they've been forced for follow all the way through has been heated and sexual, emotional and draining. The plot that has wound through the series come to a head in this final installment leaving the reader gasping for breath one minute with heart pounding and crying the next, only to have Stella Hart write the next sentence bringing her last statement to a new conclusion. What an absolutely stellar book. If there were a way to give this more than five stars, I would. But since I can't, congratulations on your five star review. You've more than earned it.

Deliciae Dolor

The Pleasure of Pain. The motto and battle cry of the Crown and Dagger society. What a perfect plan Elias concocted to spirit Tatum away. But the plan only went so far, given the limited time Elias had to develop it. On the run from the long arm of the society is a very dangerous predicament to be in. So Elias and Tatum are desperately attempting to figure out how to unmask the secret group and it's members before they could be located and destroyed. The story alone is not enough. Hard proof is needed in support or it will not be believed.

This final volume of this trilogy is the perfect ending to a dark and intriguing story. I didn't doubt an ending could be created. But I was very much impressed with how perfectly developed and written it would turn out to be.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars! The entire series has been absolutely amazing and this final book in the series was perfect! As soon as the ARC appeared, I immediately got it and began reading, I had waited for what seemed like months for it to be released! I was not disappointed; this book is fantastic. I loved everything about the book other than the fact that it had to end! The plot – awesome. The main characters, so adorably likeable and deserved their HEA, especially Tatum who went through hell and back on numerous occasions! I would encourage everyone who enjoys dark romances to read this series, you really do need to read these in order otherwise you won’t fully understand what is happening in this final book.

Wow, what a fantastic, intense conclusion to this dark romance trilogy. Absolutely fantastic series with phenomenal characters.

This is Book Three in the Dark Dynasty series. Please be sure to read Wild Elite (the prequel), Heartless Prince (Book One) and Vicious King (Book Two), before reading this book.

This was one heck of a ride and it was worth every minute of it! This is the final book in this series and just in case you are unaware, they do need to be read in order. Starting from the prequel and then progress forward. What can I say? Elias and Tatum's story has been dark, dramatic and dangerous. It has been filled with sizzling attraction, steamy chemistry and scorching scenes. There have been so many secrets, stunning revelations and shocking twists along the way. Now, as the series closes in on the finish line, everything intensifies. There are no easy answers or easy way out for this couple as they continue to fight for their HEA. Absolutely incredible! I'm voluntarily posting a forthright review.

Tatum Marris is terrified when she finds out the truth about the hunt and her hopes of Elias King rescuing her are dashed when Tobias King tells her she got played. Elias has his work cut out for him when he tries to convince Tatum to let him help her escape. Elias feels it's his responsibility to take down Crown and Dagger and Tatum wants to help but has no idea how to take down an uber-rich, uber-powerful organization made up of hundreds of men with ties to law enforcement and politicians. That is ... until she has a dream that might hold the key to taking down Crown and Dagger. Will Tatum and Elias succeed and get their HEA?

Twisted Empire is an action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story that will have you turning the pages non-stop

Unpredictable, hard sometimes, but very good
I found this conclusion of the trilogy excellent. From the first chapters the author dragged me in a direction to ask a completely unexpected twist very quickly. There is always so much action, and now that both heroes trust each other, the risks associated with the secret society are even more important.
It is complicated to say more because each event is a surprise that changes everything.
In short, it's always as well written, thrilling, with some steamy parts and some hard to read scenes.(not so much as the other books)

What a fantastic end to a series that knocked my socks off. This book/series truly shows how money and greed can lead men towards corruption.

I was hooked from the first book until the last. The storyline truly was unlike anything else that I've written. The characters were sublime and the amount of secrets that were in this story, and later unraveled, was mind boggling. It reminded me of the movie, Oceans Eleven, where the movie showed how the entire heist took place.

I am definitely going to be following this author from now on. I can't recommend this series enough if you like dark, mind twisty, titilating, and deviant.

Ok this book is by far the best in the series. I do think that because each book is so short that it would’ve been better off as either a longer standalone or a 2-part series. A lot more drama happened in this book but because it was so short some things were sort of rushed over for a singular book in my opinion. Although slightly predictable, the storyline was clever and written well. I truly flew through these books in days even though this trope isn’t my preference so that’s saying something. I probably wouldn’t read these books again in the future but I can’t say it was time wasted. Overall, it was fairly well written and quick to read
