A shy waitress and an ancient shapeshifting assassin with a bounty on his head…
A match made in heaven?
The big secret is out. My next door neighbor, my best friend, my coworkers…they’re all shifters. And my boss? I don’t know what he is, but he’s not human like me.

I was never supposed to find out about their hidden society either. It was supposed to be a simple favor. Instead of helping out the hot, mysterious bouncer at my bar, I narrowly escaped death at the hands of a psycho shifter and inadvertently rescued Ilan’s nephew.

And my obsession with Ilan all these years? It wasn’t just me with a forbidden silly crush on a guy completely out of my league. The gods have marked me as Ilan’s mate. The problem is, he doesn’t think a curvy and boring human can handle the darkness of his world. He’d rather protect me.

Well, Ilan got his wish. With a murdering shifter hunting me, I need all the protection I can get.

The things a girl has to do to get a guy’s attention these days…

Nothing better than a perfect shifter book , if it also contains romance and redemption you know your reading one hell of a book .
This is one hell of a book !
Excellent characters , story , plot, and stunning hero and heroine .
Nancy has written a blinder , to me ,her best yet .
I can’t tell you how much I loved this , totally hooked is a tame response and I really wish I could think of something more descriptive.
Ilan and Sara are extraordinary, they are perfect partners and made for each other , their story will grip you .
I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review

You guys!!!!!! I just can’t get enough of these shifters! This author continues to captivate us with a world full of single and multiple shifters, who will do anything to protect those they love.

Sara has worked at the local bar/club for many years. She’s also been obsessed with a certain man who works there as a bouncer, who hasn’t even noticed her. In fact, she’s pretty sure he’s ignored her AND her attempts to be noticed. But everything changes one night when she goes to his house to retrieve a package. Two men are dead and there’s a baby in danger. And a wolf....um man...just saved her life. What?!

Ilan can’t believe this woman. He’s purposely evaded her for years in order to protect her and yet here she is at his house being attacked by another shifter. What just happened? And what’s with the baby that looks just like him? Looks like all those years trying to protect Sara were for not. Because now that she knows what he is, and what she means to him, her life may be in even more danger.

There is a lot of stuff that happens in this book. But it’s sooooo well done, that it’s easy to keep up. In fact, we not only get to fall for Sara and Ilan, we get to meet new packs and revisit old friends. The chemistry and love story between Sara and Ilan is perfect. I even shed a few tears in regards to the family and its members (not spoiling that one).

I can’t wait for the next book. Pleeeeeeeease hurry!!!!!

3.5/5.0

There are so many little things that annoy me in this book and series, but the overall story and the addictive characters that are so poignantly written keep pulling me back.

Claimed by the Assassin is the second book in the Shifter Affairs series, and part of Ms. Corrigan’s Shifter World. Sara has worked with Ilan for the past six years, lusted after him, and feels safe when he’s around. Trying to be a good friend, she stops by his house to help pick up a package, but her life completely changes with the help of an infant. Now thrust into the shifter world, Sara’s life is quickly changing as Ilan fights to keep his heart and future safe. But will she be strong enough and can he trust her enough for a full mating?

Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed this book. It captured my attention right from the very first chapter and I was driven to see what would happen next in their lives and with their romance! Sara, while sweet and innocent, has such amazing inner strength and I love her positivity and how she trusts in her own instincts! It was really lovely to read her scenes, more often than not, because she’s one of those characters that quite a warrior in her own right, just more quiet and subtle about it. Ilan was interesting to me because he held such darkness within himself, ached for the light that Sara brought him, but had some true connections with others that one might not expect from a character with his past. I liked his drive, I liked the logic of his mind, but didn’t always like that he pushed Sara and the baby away, assuming they were safe with others. I loved their developing bond, I enjoyed their connection and passion and the complete trust that Sara has for Ilan. This book is complex, though. There’s a lot going on in the sidelines of this story, not just the romance, and you have to pay attention to some of the smaller details to fully understand everything. There’s a lot of side characters, a lot of enemies, friendships, bonds, and I definitely felt like I was reading on the edge of my seat because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was an engaging and enjoyable read!

Ilan and Sara

They've known each other for 6 years, have worked at the same bar the entire time. Sara is very attracted to him, he new the first time he looked in her eyes that she was his true mate. They come together to save his infant nephew and soul bond after he is killed, taken to his is grandmother and she gives him life, the Kane spirit and all the powers of a first born Royal shifter. His older brother Gabriel, the alpha has died and is bound by witchcraft to a single shifter, Owen, and has decided to break ties with the goddess. She has given Ilan the power to turn Sara into a Royal when they soul bond so they can have children and rebuild the pack with their own children and his brother, Brock's twin sons Soren who they already have and Kieran who is given to them at the end of the story. Uri, a Royal cat shifter and a Shifter Affairs agent finds that his true mate, Lula, who he has been avoiding has joined as an agent also. This leads into the next book.

Brilliant Royal Shifter Story!!

A wonderfully intricate story of Royals (three animals), single-shifters, soul mates and working for your family and pack. The relationship here was “ignored” for years, but once recognized will burn up the pages… a highly entertaining read!!!

A human is immersed into shifter existence suddenly; “If you want to live, Sara, you won’t tell anyone what you witnessed tonight.” Their mate bond makes it much easier for her accept. Does a killer deserve an angel: “Sara can fix us though. The truth is tempting. Peace is tempting. Knowing I’d never again have to fight to keep my wolves in check is tempting. Such is the lure of a true mate. If given a chance to soul-bond, Sara could bridge us, me and my wolves, making me the ultimate warrior.”

This is such an unusual and compelling paranormal world. It’s safe to say I’m hooked on these shifters now. Ilan and Sara took me on an emotional roller-coaster ride filled with ups, downs, twists, and turns. Being fairly new to this world myself, I really appreciated learning about it through Sara’s eyes; especially the history of the ancients and the shifter origins. Ilan had already piqued my curiosity in the previous book and I adored this chance to get to know the man behind the assassin’s reputation. There is so much more to him than I had guessed. It feels like the author is building us up to something very major and I’m excited to see what comes next.

Ilan is an angel of death, has been for centuries but does he deserve a true mate? He knows he has one but has been avoiding her for years until one night. Sara does a "friend" of Ilan's a favor and inadvertently ends up saving his nephew's life. That night changed everything Sara knew.

I was glued to this book as I have been with the others in the series. Ilan and Sara have such chemistry and are both strong characters. Something is coming and they have to be strong to survive the present and future. Uri and Ilan together are a great team and they share a lot of witty banter in this book. I have two more books to read in this series and I am devouring them.

So much going on in this book! Ilan is an assassin and when he claims Sara its just the start. Lots of action as Sara and his nephew are in danger. So many shifters and each were great characters. Who is trying to kill his nephew and Ilan himself and why? Where is his brother and alpha? Who can they trust? I'm not spoiling. Non stop action and great chemistry with some sexy time. Lots of surprises and I loved it!! This assassin was a great character and had more feelings than I would of guessed.

Just the title alone on this one would get your blood going. Then too this will be not what you expect because it will begin one way then turn another way that will also weave around your heart. Sara and Ilan will capture you in this one telling a story that will show in this world how things can change in a minute but the intensity grabs you. Most know the rules in the shifter world with this going along that a bit but the characters will have their own to follow. Some of the surprises in this also will catch you and pull you to the edge but in all this one is wowzer.

Excellent follow up (book 2) to the new Shifter Affairs series in her Shifter World books. While each book can be read as a stand-alone, reading the series’ in order adds so much more to the understanding and enjoyment of the underlying story that runs through all of the Shifter books. Claimed by the Assassin is suspenseful, action-packed and emotional. I think it’s my favorite of the entire Shifter series so far. Ilan and Sara’s story is satisfying in itself but I cant wait to read the next in the series to find out what happens next in the Royal Shifters saga.

Thrilling

Another fantastic and thrilling instalment in the very clever shifters series. I love how each book focuses on a different couple but also includes so many other characters and updates on their lives too! This series just keeps getting better and I’m looking forward to Uri’s story next.

Couldn't put it down!

This is a very addictive series! I have been reading one after another and don't know how I'm going to wait for the next one! One thing, I would love a list of each characters name, pack, and which book they first appeared in. Having trouble keeping them all straight!

Love these books

So this series is a spin off of another series so there are characters that are from the other books in this so I highly recommend reading Shifter World: Royal-Kagan series as well. This book is great and it was so hard to have to do anything but read. I couldn’t put it down even reading it during my lunch break at work. Can’t wait to read the next one. ~Tina

I am really enjoying this spin off series, I loved all the Royal Shifters books and this series doesn't disappoint. Characters are well developed and the world building is great, add in some steamy love scenes and what's not to love.
Although not absolutely necessary I would recommend reading all the books prior to these shifter affairs books, trust me it's worth the ride.

I LOVED IT

Sam and Ilan are a cosmic balancing of the saying opposites attract. She is the good girl who is loyal and follows the rules with a heart as fierce and devoted as any momma bear. He is everything naked amd raw an assassin can be. Every page had me feeling like I was right there with them.

It's so crazy reading this. I'm glad I found another book in this series. Can't believe Brock died. I suspected Nolan from the beginning. He was always talking in riddles and being evasive. I'm glad Ilan finally claimed Sara and they got both his nephews to raise.

I enjoyed this book much better than the previous one, which I hated. If it weren't for having the first four in a set, indeed, I wouldn't have even tried this one but I'm glad I did. The characters were compelling and the story was exciting as well as thoughtful. although I'm still not 100% sold on this shifter world.

Love this series

Corrigan has created a complex shifter society, and this book introduced Ilan an ancient Royal who meet his mate when he was sent to assassinate her best friend. Needless to say he doesn’t kill her, even though he’s the angel of death among his people.

When two souls meet nothing they can do to stay apart even if one does not want to act on it.
At the end love conquers all.

A lot of world building and references to past and future books. A lot of possessiveness, growling, posturing and internal monologues.
I found it slightly boring and would only recommend buying books in this series if you're really into late night trashy tv series

Ilan ‘s story

Love ❤️ his story . When he meets Sara he’s a changed man . But because he’s angel of death he doesn’t want to hurt her . Ric, Ilan. Uri, and Kade are the rest of the books !

😍

I really enjoyed this book. The story and characters are vivid and charismatic. Having said that the hero Ilan is my lest favorite. He just rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning and never redeemed himself. He got better but I just don't feel him.
