Twigs is an incredible collection of poetry that explores themes of nature, spirituality and motherhood.
With stunning, evocative description, Yvonne sets her imagination free, beautifully capturing the essence of deep reflection and the secret silence between words.
Morning moon, Meet Me and Mine, are poems that especially resonated with me.
I found the book in its entirety, to be a wonderful reconnecting experience with the earth and elements.
A very enjoyable read anytime of the year.

At the mention of losing herself in honeysuckle instead of tears in the very first poem, Yvonne swept me away—on fairy wings and across dandelion fields—to magical places known only to mothers, pagans, goddess worshipers, grieving hearts. Echoing with the songs of spiders and the silence of holy mountains, Yvonne’s debut poetry book sweetly glimpses the Irish countryside she lives in: weeping branches, ponies, moss, seasons in love with each other. I loved sharing in the daisy chains and conversations with the moon: reflective moments where Mother Earth seems to offer comfort for most melancholic moments. Mostly, I loved feeling the familiar tug of Twigs on my heart, carving out a little burrow into my soul: the perfect place for me to hibernate this winter. Congratulations on a lovely first collection, Yvonne! I look forward to the next one.

A beautiful journey through Irish nature. The love, joy and pain of motherhood ouses from the pages. I also felt a deep connection with Irish pagan goddesses. Twigs is my reintroduction to poetry since my leaving cert over 20 years ago. I enjoyed it and have been inspired to read more. Thank you Yvonne

Inspirational poetry for the mind and soul.
I found these reflective poems of nature, and of being in the world, profoundly moving. They resonated with me on a deep spiritual level. Yvonne Brewer has a way of instilling awe into the ordinary, with her lyrical poetry that shines light on the everyday things that give beauty and meaning to life.
