Queen’s Trial begins, and the competition turns deadly fast. There’s danger behind every turn, and it’s not just the competition that wants Cassia dead.
To make matters worse, Tristan, the Winter Prince, has a plan of his own. He takes Cassia to the Winter Court where she’ll have to compete without the Princes she’s come to depend on. Will things stay ice-cold in the Winter Court or will she succumb to the steamy bad boy Prince with his own agenda?
Things aren’t always what they seem, though. Cassia might have the magic to become Queen, and the love of her Princes. But with that target on her back, will she survive to get the chance?
I really enjoyed learning more about the mysterious Tristian. I’ve been curious about him from the beginning and was glad to get a little more insight into him. I do wish there was more though. A lot happened in this book it was full of action, suspense and of course romance.
I'm lowering the star rating because Cassia going "It's so unfair that Tristan gets 3 weeks to ask me human questions like I agreed to! He's ruining my life! Waaaahhhhh!! And no one will get me out of this! How mean! How unfair! Waaaahhhh!!!!!!! My life is ruined! Tristan is mean! Waaahhh!" grated on me too much. Like, after all this, and she still wants to act like a brat.
Like that's incredibly fucking childish, incredibly fucking annoying, and incredibly unwarranted because most faerie deals end up a lot worse than being in a castle with a guy you're clearly going to fuck because RH for three weeks. Please, chill out. Besides, she didn't even end up doing that. She like, attended one party, was kidnapped, then was returned to the three princes and then at the end is like "oh, yeah, I have a mating bond with Tristan too so I'm completely cleared up about my bitchy feelings and like him now" so clearly they'll have sex in book #4.
Sure, you might say 'well the queen trials' but really, I don't see why Tristan would purposefully sabotage her becoming queen because it's clearly in line with his best interests. I don't know, Cassia is probably thinking with her vagina too much.
Overall, the ideas aren't bad, but they're sorely underdeveloped and I feel very little from the series but irritation. I'm only finishing book #4 because it's like 200 pages and I like completing series if I can.
It was my wedding day. What was meant to be the most special day of my life was nothing more than a bargaining chip. My father was marrying me off to another man for position and power within the kingdom. He chased wealth, and I was nothing more than a tool to get it. Something within me was uneasy, I could feel it churning in my stomach. This wedding… felt off. I was proven right when during the exchanging of vows, my wedding was attacked by a strange and horrifying creature. My betrothed abandoned me to face it alone. At least, until two men came rushing to my rescue. They were the most beautiful beings I have ever seen. Too bad I was going to die, attacked by the creature, and left with mortally fatal wounds.
But I’m not mortal. I learned that I am in fact immortal, a fae. I was hidden here in the human realm to be raised as a human until my 21st birthday, at which point all magic within me would vanish forever. I flee into the world of Fae and come across the same men who rescued me before, I feel connected to them in a way I can’t explain. I shouldn’t exist and they are here to help me figure out who I am and why I have so much magic within.
Things have not been easy since I entered this realm, and it’s about to get a whole lot worse as I am forced to participate in a series of magical trials to become Queen. If I do not… I will be murdered. Why can’t I just live out my life in peace with the four princes who I feel drawn to?
Review:
Book 3 is where some of my frustrations with the Siri start to come out a little bit more. Once again, you have the author, picking up right where the last book left off and we are thrust right back into the action. The pacing is still really well done throughout this series and this is where the Queen’s trial competition begins. Some of the big twists have been revealed even though they aren’t really twists. If you pay attention at all in book one and two, it’s very predictable you should already know what’s coming. No shame to anyone who reads just a read or who doesn’t have that drive to figure out what’s going on if you didn’t catch it before hand, I am not attacking you here. I’m just referencing the fact that to me, it felt extremely obvious.
In my past two reviews for book one and two, I did comment that the development that occurs for these characters was really well done and yet in this one I kind of want to retract that statement. At this point in time Cassia is entering into magical and physical trials to become queen. We are told that if she does not become queen, she will most likely die because of her power , and whoever is queen will view her as a threat. This makes total sense, and yet we are still told that they cannot train her in her magic. You know the thing that she needs to participate in the trials with.
You have some more twists in this book that felt like plot just for plots sake. I’m not trying to spoil or anything for anyone, but at one point in this book some thing happens to Cassia and it is resolved literally a chapter later. Somebody that felt like a big bad, a big threat is neutralized very quickly, and plays a very small part in the story overall. It felt rushed and it left me feeling with a sense of dissatisfaction. I wanted to see a threat that was a prominent threat, and actually have a little bit of time to be played out. This actually seems to be a theme in the last two books, where a bad guy is introduced and very quickly snuffed out. It didn’t leave me feeling like the steaks were actually high, because it was over so quickly the tension and the “oh no what’s going to happen” feeling right whenever I start feeling it, the issue was resolved.
Again the romance plays out in this book a little bit more, you do have development between Cassia and her four men. There’s really no issues on my part regarding the romance of the story. It’s kind of everywhere else in the book that I have problems.
Whoa !! Now that was a book !!! Alright I’ll keep spoilers to a minimum but come on I need to give something here !!! Two words — must read !!! I said this with the first two books but this was stay up all night to read even though you’ll regret it tomorrow read !! Cassia really starts learning about herself in this book has accepted her “parents” were well not worth her time and a fae life isn’t too bad still trying to figure out the magic and well everything but she will get it ..her way .. she meets her mom who I hope to get to know more in the next book and oh man her princes !!! Ethan the sweet loving one Dane the sexy sex god cormac the quiet but secretly super yummy and of course Tristan the hot sneaky badboy like.. well you know .. you really get to know their relationships and them a bit more in this which was great I love feeling like I know them !! I mean damn I wish I had them as mates .... life would be good !!! But as I was saying this series and this book was amazing the trials she is going through that could kill her and the people she meets the “animals” she befriends (can’t wait to see how that goes) she is a queen and I’m dying to know what’s next since Dyan chick left us with a nice cliffhanger that I need to know what going to happen next but her writing is amazing the details are perfect and help make you feel what they are feeling and seeing ... she is an incredible author who just wrote another incredible book!!! YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!!

Cassia is competing in the Queen's Trials, but not everyone is happy about it. As each task gets her one step closer to becoming the queen, the number of people who want her dead also increases. A mad king, a vengeful fae, and some council members are working to eliminate her. The only way Cassia can survive is through her magic and her beloved princes.
I loved this book, especially because the previous one ended on a cliffhanger and I wanted to see what happened next. There were so many twists and turns that made it difficult to put the book down even for a minute. My favourite parts were the tasks for the trials. It was an action packed sequel. Since most of the story occurred in the Winter Court, there was more of Cassia and Tristan, with some development in their relationship. While I enjoyed reading that, I missed the other princes. There were some interesting revelations and I'm eager to see how the consequences of those play out. Cassia finds an animal companion and I hope to see more of her in the next book. With the elimination of all the current villains, I'm wondering who will be the next one. Since the next book will be the final one, I'm very excited and also sad to see how things wrap up.
We pick up in this book at Cassia beginning the Queen’s Trial and learning what Tristan had in mind for his favor he is calling in. Cassia is targeted even more as she is now officially in the competition and the trial is turning deadly very quickly. As Cassia ends up spending some time at the Winter Court with Tristan, will she learn more about the secrets he has been keeping from her? And will she come to terms with the attraction she feels for the last prince? I enjoyed this third book and the relationship development with Tristan. The Queen's Trials tasked seemed a little rushed, but then again something I have always appreciated about Dyan's books is the lack of boring down time! Cassia was also a bit on the whiny side at the beginning, but sucked it up and did better as the book went on! Can't wait for #4!
Dyan has a great writing style that always wraps me up in the story. I was so happy to read this continuation of Cassia’s story. It was nice to watch her and Tristan get closer, even though his hot and cold attitude frustrates me to no end. I was also not disappointed with the love scene between Cassia and Cormac. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever. The queen’s trials were horrible but it was amazing to see Cassia persevere and learn more about herself along the way. Can’t wait for the next book to see more of Cassia, her men and her new animal sidekick.
Hell to the yes!!! Finally, Finally we get the full set of sexy Fae princes! I freaking LOVE Tristan, I have from his first appearance! This is such an amazing series, there are so many complexities, the characters are fantastic, the constant action, court politics and the sexy steaminess. Dyan Chick gives us all this and more with this series and it just keeps getting better and better with each additional book.
Cassia gets help from the Queen (her mother) but does not immediately understand it. Spending time in the Winter Court with Tristan while competing in the Trials, Cassia is reunited with her Nurse. Believing she has failed the first Trial Cassia is spirited away from Tristan's palace to meet his father where she finds he has also imprisoned a member of the Trials Council who arranges her second Trial to end with her return to the Winter Court.
We finally get the answer weighing in our minds on how the Winter prince fits in this! Finally! Me like!!! We discover more secrets that add more flavor to the plot. One more queens trial to go. The physical portion to complete by surviving AND making her "boys" play nice together. Another form of survival. I really liked cassia's newly acquired pet too. More interesting is the fact of where it came from. That has to mean something....
Cassia knows she's the queen of Fairies daughter. She must complete the queen trials ,in order to take her mom's place. This will not be as easy as it seems. Candidates are being murdered. Will Casia be next? Cassia doesn't get her happy ending . She is more confused but determined to see this to the end. I can't wait to see where her story takes us next.
So Queen's Trial finally begins and Cassia gets bounced all over the place. Finally, she solidifies her bonds with the other princes as well. She even gets a well-deserved reunion and makes some new friends and at least one ally. I'm hoping that the mess with Tiana is finally concluded as well. Looking forward to what comes next.
I dunno why I keep finding these series that aren’t quite finished yet...but I do. This one is lovely - the men are all unique yet complement Cassia in an amazing way. They all offer her something. I was looking forward to more development with Tristan, but so far it’s just a flirtation. Amazing story and I can’t wait for the next book!
Case is continuing to grow and become a stronger person. Loved watching all the relationships grow. The author does a good job having each one have their own special bond with her. Let the trials to be queen continue!
The third book in this series was amazing. It kept me on my toes, guessing, full of action and I loved every moment of it. It amazes me how much the author is able to fit into these stories while still doing an amazing job at it. I very eagerly await for book 4!
Great follow on in the story of chassis and her prince's. Intriguing twisting plot with small restbites for connections and relationships. Hope this continues as the series continues.
Great author, great series, amazing characters and an enthralling story line. It keeps getting better and better. My only criticism is spelling errors that should have been picked up in editing. Bring on the next book!
Finally Cassia is starting the beginning half of the Queen's Trails while staying with the Winter Prince. She still doesnt know how to use her magic but at least she is following her instincts.
With all 4 of her Mate Princes by her side she defeated Tiana and is now back at the Autumn Palace.

I gave this series a shot out of boredom and was very happy I did so. The story is well written and keeps your attention. Looking forward to seeing the conclusion of the story in the forth installment.
Wow so good. There is so much packed in this book. A real page turner. I was totally sucked in the world with all the characters. I can't wait to see what happens next
Carino, mi piace come funziona questo reverse harem e la aggiunta fresca fresca è piacevole, un ottima lettura per la mia fuga dallo studio, avrei adorato ancora di più questa serie da ragazzina.

Amazing!!! I loved every book in this series! Totally wonderful fantasy romance adventure! It gave me everything I was looking for without getting too heavy. Absolutely delightful read!!!
I really enjoyed this book. It had a great story and the characters keep growing more and more. The biggest issue I found was with the editing, which is why i rated it 3.5 instead of 4 stars.
