A good read but although it sort of cleared up the Caspian bit - it really didn't do that justice as most of this dealt with the two investigations she undertook. A bit disappointing. Possession and ghostly activity seem to be on the increase in the house. Even has had her body taken over and now Caspian has made himself scarce. Her mother has volunteered her services to the police in the case regarding the death of her neighbour. She failed to find out if her daughter and team could actually do it at the time her mother arranged it. As it happened they had another case to do first. A little girl is haunting a hotel. Can they find out why and pass her over? Will she find out any more information about the neighbours death? Why has Caspian disappeared and why did he ask her to remember? Will she?
I really enjoyed this third in the series. The story continues on with Moody trying to help the ghost captain who is disappearing for longer periods. The investigation team is also hired by a hotel to try and find answers about the haunting they have of the ghost of a little girl. I love these characters and the unique stories behind the ghosts that Moody comes across. This was a very entertaining read.
How can you go wrong with a romance between a gorgeous boat captain from the 1800's and blind woman who sees ghosts? This was enchanting and fun and I couldn't put it down. I just love stories that take me away to a place where I can dream. The description of this old house on a hill in the northwest overlooking the Pacific is enough to delight me. Add to that an annoying mother with her toy boy romance, a cousin who is Bryn's right hand and eyes and Carlos who is the tech guy completing the you tube posse, well wheat more do you want? More more more. Thank goodness the next in the series has just been released. Got to go now. On to the next Moody Mystery
Kim takes us on a journey from Cove House to Portland, to Seattle and even back to the 1800’s. And what a ride it is. Bryndle and her team meet new ghosts and learn more about the mysterious Caspian. You’ll be captivated by the story, unable to put it down until the very end, and may even find yourself believing in ghosts too. A great read, you’re sure to enjoy.
Coming About, third in the Moody series, takes the paranormal adventure to a new level. On the surface, Kim Hornsby spins a romantic tale of past interwoven with present. This reader senses the deeper exploration of circularity, intersection, and interconnection. Does love truly transcend time? To which reality or realities do we belong? Anxiously awaiting further exploration of these intriguing themes in the next Moody installment.
Bryndle Moody has her 6th, er rather 5th sense back, thanks to Caspian Cortez. Following a kiss, Caspian vanished, and it's been days since Bryn has seen, heard or felt his presence. Bryn is haunted by Caspian's last words to her.
In trying to get more information, Bryn divulges to Joan Hightower, the librarian and former friend of the previous owner of Cove House, that she has met Caspian and that when he is near, Bryn has her sight. Bryn senses that Joan is withholding information.
Out of desperation, Bryn enters the bloody bedroom to summon Jacqueline, and feels a stabbing pain in her back. Jacqueline was angry.
Rachel, Bryn's mom has invited the cop looking into her next door neighbor's murder to stay over. Bryn has a feeling that Ron is hiding something. Although, Bryn was not the one to pick up any vibes of murder, Rachel conveniently told Ron it was Bryn not Eve who got a reading.
Moody Investigations was heading to Portland for a case in a hotel of the ghost of a little girl. Following the case, they were to join Ron, so Bryn could actually get a reading for the murder case. While at the hotel, Bryn dreams of Caspian and both proclaim that they have feelings for one another.
Still desperate to see Caspian, Bryn decides that maybe he hasn't returned because she hasn't held up her end of the bargain and sets out to find his bones. Bryn made her way to the beach and concentrated on how Caspian died in the 1850's, and opened her eyes to being in the 1850's where she spotted Caspian on a boat, slumped over, being rowed out then tossed into the water. She goes into action, rescues him and gets his men to hoist him aboard, where she gives him CPR, and quickly tells his crew that she is a nurse after referring to her as a witch.
Next thing Bryn knows, she woke up in her bed with everyone trying to figure out just how she got there!
If you love paranormal, then you will love this series! It's engrossing!
This series is so good. This is the 3rd book in the series and wow! I love the characters and love going on their paranormal adventures with them.
I only had 2 notes while reading.
loc 42 - "amazing clairvoyance". I don't think people with these types of gifts think to themselves about their amazing gift. The author wants us to know Moody has a great gift but the readers who love this series will already know her gift is amazing.
loc 755 - "Benedict Cumberbatch narrated, and I happened to love that man enough to consider myself a Cumberbitch." I love this. I think there are many Cumberbitches out there. I'll have to look to see if this is a real thing or something the author would love to be real.
I can't wait for the next installment in the world of Moody. I definitely am a Moody Peep.
She needs Caspian to come back! I want him to! I have read the previous 2 books in this series and this book is more absorbing than those were, although I never thought that was possible. Throughout the book, Moody tries drastic measures to bring Caspian back and You go with her into her world, you yearn for Caspian when she yearns for him. You get involved in the The author took me into Moody's world and I didn't want to come out of it. I am desperately waiting for Book 4!
Bryndle and her crew are on new ghost hunting adventures, unfortunately that includes her mother, Rachel. While trying to summon ghosts Bryndle is still managing quite well without her sight. The story continues from the previous book, but I found Hornsby did a lovely job of reminding readers of previous events. It is highly recommended reading the series in order, characters develop and the Caspian element is captivating. Fans of paranormal hunting shows and general mystery novels will enjoy this series. I received an early copy but wrote this review voluntarily without bias.
Love, love, love this series. Once again, Kim Hornsby has captured the spirit (pun intended) of romance between a mortal and a ghost. Cannot wait until the next in the series comes out. This book is filled with plot twists that are unusual, mystery, laughter, romance, and strange, but real characters. Being the third in the series, it does not disappoint. I highly recommend this book and anything written by Kim Hornsby.
Once again Author Kim Hornsby has created a very believable story of a blind ghost hunter filled with surprising twists. In this Book 3 of the "Moody & The Ghost" mystery series we experience murder plots, being possessed, and sharing of premonition. Can't wait to see what happens next with Bryn, her ghost and the other ghosts living in her haunted house.
This series - Moody and the Ghost - is so entertaining! I never thought stories about a 'ghost hunter' would grab me like this! I'm used to hard-boiled murder mysteries and thrillers. While there are murders and mysteries to solve, there's also a lot of just plain good fun, loveable characters, really good writing. Hornsby makes me feel like I'm part of the crew with her vivid descriptions.
Moody & the Ghost – Coming About by Kim Hornsby is the third book in the Moody Mystery Series. Just like the first two books this one kept me turning the pages. This book is just as good if not better than the first 2. This book being the third does not disappoint. I love all the characters and all their adventures. I wish I didn’t have to wait to read the next book in this series.
I am just crazy about this series by Kim Hornsby. I've gobbled up the books unlike any series in my memory. I love these characters, the story line and with the incredible story telling ability of the author. The characters are interesting and the story line is fascinating.
How does a long dead ghost have such an attraction and such a grip on my imagination?
This was a fun read but there is something real twisty going on with a couple of the main characters in this series ! For the good I hope ! Like usual, it’s always a long wait for the next installment and having to wait is the worst 😁
Coming about is the third book in this series.. while I absolutely loved 1 and 2...... this one is just as good... I honestly think you’ll enjoy the Moody and the Ghost Series as much as I do.. especially those who like paranormal stories...
Where is Caspian? Has he deserted Bryndle? Struggling to find out where he fits in this crazy ghostly adventure, she searches town and family history as she travels through time. What a ride!
What a great book. The ending was the best. There was a few slow spots. I'm so glad to see Bryndle has got her mojo back working. Seems she might have gained a few new things sense going blind.
While some books that come as a 'series' tend to slow down as they come to an end, this one does not. There is a bit of romance and mystery in this paranormal story. Kim Hornsby has created a world that we can enter into, dream, explore, make new friends, and fall in love. I have laughed, been frustrated, angered, entertained, and have had my heart beat a little faster. I will not ever forget my journey through this series.
