Captivated by the story of a cowboy hanged as a horse thief in 1890, an independent, modern-day woman travels back in time with only thirty days to save an innocent man.
Haunted by an old article about a man hanged over a hundred years ago, Mia Kellogg boards an old steam locomotive and plows right into the arms of the handsome cowboy Dusty Mann. Knowing time is of the essence, her problem is convincing her cowboy he’s in danger?>
Dusty Mann works as a foreman but is determined to buy his own ranch.
He doesn’t need a modern, straightforward woman to barrel into his life or knock his plans off track.
But Mia steals his heart—and then claims she’s from the future.

I haven't read a time travel book for a while. This one was really good and I enjoyed it. Pretty quick read. The story had the right amount of suspense. Admittedly, I didn't like the heroine at first, but she grew on me. Dusty is adorable (swoon). I am looking forward to the next story.
I loved “Time to Save a Cowboy”. I loved the idea of Amelia going back in time to save Dusty. The progression of the story was good, but I thought the story ended too quickly. Of course, it’s possible I don’t like any ending because that mean’s the book is over. Either way, it was a great story and one I’ll read again someday. And it gives me a new author to check out as well. If you like romance and time travel, check out this book. I don’t think you’ll be sorry.
Writing should not consist of the flow of thoughts through your head. Because it makes for very challenging reading, and creates a book that needs major editing.
This was only the third time travel romance I read, and everyone has been different from the others. This one was okay, and it was interesting to read about ’cowboy times’. Maybe there was too much telling in some places in the first part of the book and then the end came quite suddenly, so it was kind of out of balance. The main persons were quite good - Mia was a ’livid person’ but Dusty remained a bit too simple, and the love story between them felt not very believable. Anyway, I enjoyed reading and had fun time.
Time to Save a Cowboy (Book 1) By Niki J. Mitchell
Four stars, good old time fashion romance time travel novel..Dusty was destin for Mia, he from the past her the future..Stealing a horse was a crime, and it had additional add ons of fire, shootings, and a farce of a trial..Bad guys got away with it, it would have been great if they could have solve it..But he was saved by going forward in time..She got her man back..

I enjoyed this story of Time Travel to 1890. I liked the story, premise and the logic. Unfortunately the end seemed a little sketchy, hurried and illogical at the end. I would recommend this to anyone who likes romantic, old West time travel books.
The author didn't waste much time transporting the heroine to the past. I enjoyed the fact that there was a clear mechanism that caused the time travel. I wished that the villains of the piece had a clearer punishment, but overall I enjoyed the story. It has been a couple of years since this was published, but I hope the author eventually continues the series.
I adored this book. Such fun to see a woman from the present travel back in time. I was so sad when Mia is sent forward in time right after Dusty is sentenced to hang. It has a great and positive ending.
While reading this book, I continued to wonder why it got 4 stars on Goodreads. Yes, the premise is good, and the plot was romantic and easy to follow, however the writing itself was sophomoric and even painful at times. I ended up skipping ahead to the end just to ease my pain. Sorry.
First, it's rare to find a time travel book. Second, it virtually impossible to find one that has suspense, mystery, and intriguer. Mitchell meets all of these characteristics. I hope she writes many more. This is a great genre for her.
I never cared much for books about time travel, but I enjoyed this one. Mia bought a garnet ring in an antique shop while on vacation. She saw a picture of a handsome cowboy then saw a scrapbook with an article about that cowboy hanging as a horse thief on July 4, 1890. When Mia put the ring on, it was hot and she couldn't get it off. She was transported back to a month before the cowboy's hanging. His name was Dusty. They fell in love and she tried to save him from hanging. Two days before he was to hang Mia was transported back to present day just before a big July 4th party at her parent's house. She told her favorite Uncle Al about her time travel since he believed in it. When he came to the family gathering, he had a surprise for Mia. You will have to read the book to find out what his surprise was. It was the reason I gave this book five stars.
Love when I find a new author. The story grabs you from the first pages and keeps you turning till the end. Mia is on a mini vacation with her cousin and aunt reliving the Wild West. Thinking of getting something to remember her trip she buys a ring at a old fashioned store. While paying a picture and a newspaper clipping from 1890 catches her eyes. The cowboy is handsome, but so sad he was hanged for stealing a horse. He didn’t look the type. The story and his face kept bothering her, it couldn’t be true. Boarding the train with her family she shows her cousin her ring and when she puts it on she feels funny, something isn’t right. The surroundings seemed a little different, it can’t be true! How in the world did she windup in the year 1890? Was it to save Dusty, the cowboy in the picture?
When you know the place a book is written about it makes it really special, I have been to the ranch many times over the years! My grandparents owned a couple of horses which came from there when I was young. My sister and her family lived in Hesperia for a number of years. Even rode horseback along the river. But that aside, the storyline in this book was awesome! I hope he gets to go back and get his ranch though!
In hopes of saving an innocent cowboy from getting hung for a crime he did not commit, Mia travels back to 1890. She is unable to convince her cowboy of the danger. This Western Time Travel Romance has many twists and turns which makes for a fun and entertaining story.
I like a good time travel but this was pretty cheesy. I enjoyed the characters but storyline although interesting at times fell flat once the trial started. And the ending just had me rolling my eyes.
Such a bittersweet story. We never know where life is going to take us. I laughed, got mad and cried. I would definitely read this again. I’m fixing to start book 2. Looking forward to it. I hope there will be more!
Torn with a rating - I love time travel n visualizing each era -I enjoy a bit of suspense - characters need to come alive n feel as if I know them - I would rate each of these differently - and then there is the ending which was interesting but lacking - my rating runs from 4 to 1
Who would have believed a garnet ring would take one to the past. Fall in love and try to save a cowboy’s life. Who would believe a garnet belt buckle would take a cowboy to the future where his girlfriend went back to. Only author Niki J. Mitchell.
I really liked this one. Started off a bit slow but rapidly gets to the point where you can't put it down! Wish it had continued on for a bit more. But a good read!
