Wanted: St. Nick is book eighteen in the Silverpines series by Josephine Blake. When Arabella Flint realises that she could not pay her bills and Matilda needed husband they placed added in the Groom's Gazette. Two brothers Nicholas and Gregory Duran neared a change and decided to apply to Arabella and Matilda's add in the Groom's Gazette. However, the brothers did not realise what they applied for. The readers of Wanted: St. Nick will follow Arabella, Matilda, Nicholas and Gregory to find out what happens.
Wanted: St.Nick is the first book I have read of Josephine Blake, and I enjoy it. This book engaged me from the start. I love Josephine Blake portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other. Wanted: St. Nick is well written and researched by Josephine Blake. The description of the settings done excellently by Josephine Blake.
The readers of Wanted: St. Nick will learn about living in a rural community in Oregon in the eighteen century. Also, the readers of Wanted: St. Nick will learn about working in a barbershop.
Arabella lost her Father in the disaster. Since then she's been struggling to make ends meet. When she receives a bunch of bills, she has to resort to accepting a loan from an older man. She's worried he'll use it as leverage to make her marry him but seems to have little options. She wrote an ad for a husband but no one has shown any interest at all. Nicholas' brother convinces him to move to Oregon and find a bride from the Grooms Gazette. He's not crazy about the idea until he lays eyes on Arabella. It would be nice if both brothers could start new lives together... will both couples suit? This is a clean, sweet romance. I liked it. I think it's meant to be a Christmas story, but really it could have been Wanted: Barber....
The latest in this delightful Silverpines anthology. Bella needs a financial rescue from a mysterious stranger who pays her debts but insists he has just "bought" her in the bargain. Nick just needs someone to heal his broken heart after his fiance' jilts him. Can these two unlikely people be just right for each other? The entire Silverpines series is a brilliant flip-flop on the mail order bride phenomenon in that the ladies are looking for men instead. There are, thus far, about 20 novellas which can be read as stand-alones but reading just a couple of them hooks most avid readers of historical western fictional romances for the entire set.
Silverpines was a small town that was devastated by a mine explosion and shortly thereafter a mudslide. Almost all of the men from there were killed, including Arabella's father, the town barber. AS he and so They women out advert in the Grooms Gazette paper look for mail order grooms. Nicholas and his brother came to town as prospective grooms. Some adventure, some humor and a couple very happy ending he occur in this story. You will greatly enjoy this book. I enjoyed reading it very much.
Gregory and Nicolas Duran read a notice in the Grooms Gazette for two women who were looking for husbands. Both men arrived on a train the same day that the women read their telegram. Matilda and Gregory were instantly interested in each other and Nicolas who had not wanted to come was hesitant in making any promises. Mr Diggory was ver enamoured with Arabella but she was Nicolas’s choice. This was another great book in the Silverpines series. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Each time I read a new installment I love this little locale more. Josephine Blake is one of my favorite Authors! She has such a way with a story. Wanted St. Nick is no exception. Heartbreak to friendship. Healing to love. Love to marriage... All of this with a few plot twists and a little bit of exasperation! Everything is there... Not just for Arabella Flint the Heroine, but for Nicholas Duran the Hero as well! You will fall in love with this book as quickly as I did.
I love that this book is about one couple but peaks into the lives of the other couple. It is great that it is a Christmas book, filled with the spirit and traditions of the holiday. The epilogue gives you a cliffhanger as to the next books in the series.
So many worries about the future and Arabella is in trouble with too many bills. Now she may lose her home. Nickolas is depressed and Gregory has a plan to help them both. Great reading with big surprises.
This is the 18th book in the Silverpines series. It introduces new characters of Arabella, the barber's daughter and of Nick, a former homesteader who had a bad break up. It's a novella length story but has a nice Christmas feel.
Silverpines continues it struggles to rebuild and recover from twin devistations that left so many women in trying circumstances. Bella finds her love.
Great story! Loved the characters, they were written so the readers felt like they knew them. There was a mystery about who Mr Diggory was and what happened to Karen. I’d recommend this book.
Nicholas- came with brother and Arabella -has fathers barber shop. I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written with charismatic characters and a good plot. Their story has a sweet and complete HEA.
