Arista once dreamed of a planet full of humans. Now it scares her to death. After the disastrous events at the human colony, Arista’s reality has been turned upside down and she finds herself in a world in which the machines never came to power, and, in fact, are outlawed.
Now she and Frees must try and navigate this strange, new universe without getting killed by some anti-artificial nutjob. The only question is: without a Quantum Gate, how do they get back? After she breaks out of jail, Arista must use all her guile and knowhow to find a solution. But that means getting off the glittering jewel of Manhattan and into the real world.
And she and Frees aren't the only ones who are looking for a way back. DISPARITY is the fourth book in the heart-pounding QUANTUM GATE series. Don’t miss your chance to rise up and fight for what is yours.
Bestselling author Eric Warren has loved stories all his life. And despite writing from a young age, it took him a few years to realize being an author was what he wanted to do for a living. Today, he is the author of over twenty novels, including the highly successful INFINITY'S END series. Never one to shy away from what he loves, he plans to continue writing for another century, depending on the viability of life-extending technology.
I binged read the five books in a week, prequel included ,a real page turner. Tense dark moments, nerve wrecking, action packed, witty dialogue, extreme situations pushed to the limits, thought provoking, touching the basic issues of moral and ethics, do we have exclusivity to “ human emotions” as we refer to them? The author touches sensitive aspects of our inner selves, if the means justify our actions...The plot’s twists non stop, revealing new layers of oddities and arcane horrors on nearly every page. Yes, it keeps the book moving, which is exactly what you want in a narrative. An immersive storyline, that has me hooked from the very beginning of the series. Eric Warren’s creative imagination magnifies the narrative elements which is compelling and riveting. I couldn’t get enough of it! As much as I wanted to know the outcome, I didn’t want the story to finish. I love the Device Arista has, it’s unique! What an amazing and outstanding series! I highly recommend it without any doubt!Wishing Causality book 4 releases soon... I received an early version of this book from the publisher and my review is entirely voluntary.
In this entire series, this was the book I was most scared to write, just because the ideas had been percolating in my head for so long. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to live up to my own expectations. But in the end it really came together and I enjoy this "darker side" of the Quantum Gate series immensely.
This has been a very intriguing series . You definitely need to read the books in order. It offers unexpected surprises as she learns the truth behind her world.
Four books in and I'm actively wishing the protagonist will just die already
Four books in to a 5 book series and I've never hated a protagonist as much as i hate this one. I won't go into details do ad to avoid spoiling it for others. Just know you're in for book after book of the same theme. Man bad, machine good. Mankind deserved what they got, it's the machines time now.....yadda, yadda, yadda. Lifes too short to keep hoping the protagonist will realize what an idiot she really is and change.
Another amazing book in this series! Arista and Frees are in a timeline that is the opposite of their reality, a world where AI's and bionic enhancements are forbidden by law. When you're a human with a bionic arm and an AI that is not a good world to be in. Luckily they find some people to help them. I'm still warming up to David but I love Blu.
I can't believe the next book is already the last book in the series! I don't want it to stop yet!
An alternate, parallel universe... that's where Arista and Frees find themselves blown into by the colony Gate... not back to before the sentient androids rose to dominate. A world where androids and bionic humans don't exist. As they struggle to find a way back to their own world, this universe is as daunting as any place can be, Echo of their world has mysteriously come with Arista and Frees; her impact upon the other world has dangerous repercussions... if she gets back through the Gate, things could get even worse. Even more haunting is the truth why Frees was malfunctioning... one of the powerful AIs, Charlie, survived and in this new world he may achieve a desired victory of his own. With dark shadows hunting them down, it is the unexpected allies that Arista and Frees discover that makes the world they stumbled into bearable... and the critical key to getting home. A hauntingly brilliant twist to an already spectacular series. Highly recommended.
