Casandra Hilton, a New York debutant and East Coast heiress is found floating on a bed of seaweed and wood wreckage off the coast of South America. But when asked for her name or any kind of identification, she responds with a blank stare. Even though she has survived, she has no memory of her former life and any attempt she makes to remember fills her with fear. The kind Uruguayan family that took her in soon becomes dependent on her innate abilities with horses, particularly one troublesome stallion.
Shane Stapley, a Texas billionaire, has traveled to Argentina to purchase a champion stallion from the Cortez ranch. Early one morning he finds Casandra dealing with a stallion who refuses to leave the stables where they keep the mares. Everything about her draws him closer until he learns she cannot guarantee her heart is free to fall in love.
The attraction is obvious, but the risk is great. Will their patience pay off in a match between them or end in sorrow when they learn they must part?
Sophia Summers is an award winning author who just wants to relax a little and enjoy a great beach read. She lives in a quiet southern town brimming with an extra dose of hospitality and a whole lot of charm.
She writes historical romance under a different name. The Billionaire Royals is her first contemporary romance series.
An fantastic clean, fast and romantic read. This unique plot had me pulled in from the beginning feeling her fear and pain. I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense around not knowing who she was and where she came from. I was really on the edge of my seat with suspense and a sense of fear from the unknown as time went on. It moves at a fast paced and is interesting as you followed how naturally horses, their training and care knowledge came like second nature to Larina but she didn't know why or how. The characters are interesting, believable and realistic. Shane and Larina meet at the Cirtez ranch and are attracted to one another and bond over the love of horses. Can a future be made?
A case of amnesia eased by a horse? How could this be! Kiki was found in the water with no memory of who she was, where she came from but a difficult horse, Caballo, was eased by her talking and petting him. Was this an indication of who she had been. Interactions with buyers of horses helped her remember that she had a brother and knew about training and riding horses. One buyer brought her and Caballo back to the states with the promise he would help her get her memory back. Was he successful? This book is a must read!
Found floating in the sea with amnesia, the family that rescued her have named her Larina. With no memory of her past, the place she is most comfortable in is the barn with the horses. Her new family are in awe as she has a way with the horses, especially the one they need to cooperate the most.
Shane has traveled to Argentina to buy a horse. He wasn't expecting to fall for the woman who can't remember her past. How can he convince her to move with him as the only people she knows live in South America?~
A wonderful romance story. Casandra had amnesia and didn’t know how she ended up in South America. However, in the process she found a family who accepted her as they found her. She also met a young man she fell in love with but didn’t know if she was free to fall in love or if she was already committed to someone else. The story was written so that it was spellbinding and kept your interest the see how things would turn out.
Discovered barely alive floating on flotsam by fishermen in coastal waters off Uruguay, a young woman is given the name Larina Maressa (meaning seagull from the sea) by her rescuers. Distraught as she is to remember nothing of her past, Larina finds peace working with their horses, something she has surely done before. Her meetings with two American buyers persuades her to make the move to the USA to see if she can discover who she is. Loved this romantic suspense story.
I really enjoyed this book. It had an unusual story line and moved through several locations. I have not felt so involved with a character like this in a long time. I also enjoyed the addition of the horses and learning more about them. I hope you will give it a try! (I received an advance copy from the author. The opinions here are my own.)
This is a charming romance with two delightful main characters; Shane and Larina. Drawn together over the love of horses they are also attracted to one another. There's only one problem. Larina has no idea who she really is. She is suffering from amnesia and until she can recover her memory she cannot commit to a relationship with Shane.
Sophia Summers writes a great and imaginative story with the best characters and with Shane and. Sandi being the best of the best. I liked that the settings varied with their traveling from the U.S. To South America and back again. I, especially like epilogues, which this book had.
I enjoyed this story. As I like equestrian tales and mysteries with people of warmth, integrity and generosity, this story was bound to " hit the spot". An enjoyable read with a good ending.
This was a fun story that is a very quick read. I loved the descriptions of the horses and their personalities probably more than the rest of the story. This is a clean romance.
What a great story line! I really enjoyed the story. I loved it and I have enjoyed everyone of Sophia's books. Can't wait to see what comes next in the series. That ranch is a mecca for romance.
This is an amazing and breathtaking love story with endearing and thrilling moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat and heartwarming time that will have you enjoying their journey to true love.
This was so good! Very sweet good story lines and I love horses also. Had a beautiful Appolasa he was so sweet,he played with my kids I don't think he knew he was a horse!
A very good story that I would have liked to see "fleshed out" a little more. Quick read with an excellent love story. Worth reading along with the others in the series.
A sweet heartwarning romantic novel. Quite an intriguing page turner. Previous reviewers have essentially covered the story itself but I can add that it was a flawlessly written novel that I read in one sitting. Personally I would have enjoyed a bit more sexual chemisty but it was still a great read. I received an ARC & this is my honest & voluntary review.
