Sacrificing the present to save the future. The Star Alliance is being obliterated in a surprise wide-scale attack by the Obsidian Empire who allied themselves with an ancient enemy that everyone thought extinct. The Damocles-3 R&D station is under attack as is every other world and base throughout the sector. R&D Chief Engineer Spiros Malayianis is ordered to leave the station so his critical knowledge of advanced weaponry is preserved, which could be the Alliance's only hope for survival. Before escaping, Spiros is ordered to wipe out all of his research so it doesn't fall into enemy's hands, but the engineer has other plans. The real question is whether or not he can live with the consequences of this single decision? One that could cost him his soul and forever change the course of his life... This edition of Damocles Fall is twice as long as the version on my website. It contains the original, plus all the Spiros' scenes from Fury to the Stars (re-edited) plus extra bonus scenes & story conclusion. This book can be read as a stand-alone book.

An amazing book that filled in on the Universe in Flames Made it easier to understand. I’ve read most of the others and this is superb. I’m ready for the next book by this fantastic writer.

This “Definitive Edition” is a true upgrade to a novel that I already greatly enjoyed. It really fleshes out Spiros, his thoughts and motivations. It’s also a heck of an exciting story all by itself which works both as a great standalone tale and as a wonderful background for the author’s Universe in Flames stories. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - this book definitely deserves it.

Lost in space

Unusual twist to follow and I was lost but eventually found my way back to the story I thought I was reading. Enjoyable experience, but I will have to see if it continues with a strong character line.

I like it!

As always I love the way Christian Kellias writes! His writings are so expertly worded that his story telling flows so smoothly. This rework of telling Spiros story fleshes out his character and background. Nicely done!

Great story

This is a great short story, telling the story of ones of the lesser characters in the series. Spiros Malayianis is the top R&D scientist in the, sector when his space station base comes under attack. I initially found the character to be too self absorbed and more worried about saving his work then the lives he cost butcher grew on me as the story progressed. The,second half of the book is taken from Fury to the Stars with a small epilogue added. This series is rapidly becoming a favourite.

'Damocles Fall' by Christian Kallias is a riveting Sci Fi story set somewhere in interstellar space at an orbiting R&D research station named Damocles-3. The book starts with an urgent shout to the chie protoganist Station Commander Theodoros Leonidis, about a huge fleet of unidentified spacecraft entering from hyperspace with power signatures so large that they indicate that the incoming fleet is certainly incredibly powerful, enough to overwhelm Damocles-3, in case they attack. Leonidis immediately sends signals to Alpha Prime, but finally when they do receive a message it informs them that the Obsidian have launched a large-scale attack on the Star Alliance and defences have fallen at Alpha Prime and all Star Alliance bases across the galaxy. This is the beginning leading to one of the most memorable and nailbiting tales of continuous action I have read. The cover is attractive and warrants a look inside. Among other memorable protagonists, a seeming ineffectual scientest named Spiros emerges as a key person in view of his research on new weaponry that can help the Star Alliance combat the Lizard like Obsidians, which must be saved and delivered to the Star Alliance. This is a story of great courage, great sacrifice of life and limb, faith in leadership and terrific battle scenes conducted with acumen and innovation. The Aliens attack and as expected Damocles 3 is the underdog. The flow is continuous and the development is at a steady increasing pace. The climax is explosive and unforgettable leaving the reader waiting for the next book in the series. This is without a doubt an exciting read, deserves a 5 Star rating and recommended.

This is a separate novella describing the events which happened in space station Damocles 3. If you haven't read Universe in Flames, it is still a good stand alone story. If you have, as I've stated early, it just gives you more details. Still a very interesting story.
