About the author

Fae Dunn

3 books8 followers
Fae was challenged to read through the Bible and found it to be such a blessing in her everyday life that she has now read the Bible from cover to cover more than 30 times.

She is a graduate of Grace University, having a dual degree in Management and Biblical Studies. One of her professors pointed out to her that she is good at applying the Scriptures to everyday life and that is how “Faithful Promises of God” came about.

Fae wrote this book while on the mission field in Tobago where she volunteered at a government school, working with children who struggle. Her first book, “Faithful Hope” is also a devotional but written totally different and designed to help those who are in painful situations.

Fae was a journalist and photographer when she was in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC), upon graduating from high school. Fae now resides in Nebraska to be closer to family and friends. She has three children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, which keep her busy. And, she continues to write.

I read this book via an Amazon KINDLE Unlimited download.
Ever since I’ve started to read/review Christian books, I’ve found it interesting how many devotional books there are. In general, devotional books are designed to increase a person’s relationship with the Lord, and each one approaches this matter somewhat differently. While some might just give only a scriptural quotation for each day of a year for which readers are asked to dwell on during the course of each day; Ms. Dunn has interwoven herself and her experiences to give something for her readers they can relate to on a visual level.

Ms. Dunn in her description for this book states that these daily devotions
will nourish your soul,

PSALM 119:174-175 [ESV]
“I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight. Let my soul
live and praise you, and let your rules help me.”

strengthen your faith,
1 Thessalonians 3:2 [NLT]
“and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ,
to establish and exhort you in your faith,”

and light the path for each day
PSALM 119:105 [ESV]
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

For each day in this book the author first gives her readers a specific biblical passage to
be read, followed by a brief tract regarding the passage, culminating in a brief prayer to
the Lord. And in doing so, readers should be able to enhance their relationship with the Lord and those who dear to them, which is why I’ve given Ms. Dunn 5 STARS for having compiled the devotions and related item in her book

I won this as an e-book from Goodreads.

I was looking for a daily inspirational read, similar to Marianne Williamson's A Year of Miracles: Daily Devotions and Reflections, which I had borrowed from the library. This daily guide has a different tone and I just didn't resonant with it. It's not what I was looking for, but I appreciate the author's intentions and am grateful to have won it from Goodreads.
