"I'll wait." Those were the last words he spoke to her and he damn right meant them. Runner fell for the wild beauty that was dragged in by the Riders from the first moment he laid her eyes on her. She was an enemy of the club and he shouldn't but... It was her eyes, that vast ocean of blue that drowned him. When Magdalene comes back for Vik's wedding, Runner will know the real meaning of passion and pain. And the true essence of love.
"I'll wait." Those were the last words she heard from him. Magdalene wanted to go back every single day since the Riders let her go, to see him again, to listen to that perfect, soft voice of his. But she was scared of her own self around him. When Lysa, the woman she once tried to kill, asks Magdalene to be her maid of honor, she will be back once more to face her past and her deep-seated fears. And she'll find so much more.
These characters are the perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover," or "don't make assumptions." One of the things I love the most about this series is that the author can make me feel so many things. And I was definitely feeling Runner's heartache and pain, and his need for her, but I still couldn't muster enough frustration or impatience, or anger towards Magdalene because there were small instances where I could see that she wasn't doing it to hurt him, that there was more to her character and that she wanted him... So I held up, and she made me cry, so hard, because this is a woman that is so strong but is also terribly hurt, and lost, and so so so terrified.
This is a story about daring to take a risk, a chance, and overcoming deep-rooted fears. And about a man who refuses to give up because he sees her, and not the mask she puts on.
Made me cry, laugh, "aww,"and blush, and cry again but this time of joy. 100% recommend.
