Ava is a bounty hunter that hunts and lives alone. Her job takes her to Berkeley after a dangerous outlaw, member of a motorcycle club that is accused of serious crimes. As she follows him, she realizes that there is someone else after her prey: a rival motorcycle club that wants the man dead. If she wants to collect her money and finish the job she has no other choice. She has to work with the club and especially one particular hot, sexy and haughty biker, Bjorn.
Bjorn has been a member of the Riders of Tyr even before he was born. His father was a member and he had no choice but to follow the life. All the people he knows are members or affiliated to the club and his life is tied to it. When his King orders him to blow up a member of the rival gang, he doesn't even flinch. He never expected that he would end up working with a stubborn, bad-ass bounty hunter. That also happens to be unbearably alluring.
I think that's the only way to start a review for this book, honestly. Ava is the motherf*cking Queen, period.
Talk about a badass female character, I definitely wasn't expecting her, and she sets the tone immediately. She is here and she isn't going to bow down to anyone or back down and let the Riders control her actions. She works with them, not for them, and damn I just love her. I love the fact that she carries her weapons everywhere and wears pretty little dresses, and drives a car the riders make fun of. I love that she is smart, and has connections and doesn't depend on them or back down in front of the Rider's King (Man I can't wait for Tor to fall hard... Whipped doesn't even seem like enough) and that she is still soft and loving.
Bjorn, on the other hand, is a teddy bear. A huge, tattooed, "could probably break all of my bones with his pinky finger", possessive, protective, teddy bear.
This is a story about two people overcoming two different kind of grief and hurt, and daring to love and care for another again. It honestly made me reflect a lot about lost chances and lost relationships and while it was hard to read sometimes, it was also extremely well done, and very tender and soft.
And those quotes....I haven't read it in 6 months and I can still quote Bjorn when he talks to Ava... Fire, fire everywhere, and drooling... A lot of drooling.
I love this series sooo much! This is my 4th time rereading this book. I wanted to start my year off with a series reread and nothing compares to this! I wish that the second half of Ava and Bjorns story was still available to read but on to the hellhound and the sweetheart ❤️ I am patiently waiting for this author to be able to publish these stories and finish the series! Ava is forever the queen and she continues to thrive and rule throughout the series 👑
Ava totally kicka$$ for sure- however how quickly things progressed between them was kind of eye rolling - like seggs yes but love? Especially after calling her his deceased wife’s name? Sorry no- left on a cliffhanger- don’t need to know what happens after

Bounty hunter chick meets big bad biker and his gang. In retrospective, it has some GTA and Full Throttle vibes. Wouldn't read twice, but wasn't THAT bad. Just... please, don't shoot too close to your boyfriend's ears, he's going to suffer severe damages you know?
