Jenny Jorgenson—or Miss Jenny as she’s known to her Kindergarten students—couldn't be more ready for Christmas vacation. But before she can experience the joys of The Most Wonderful Season of All, she has to get 127 five-year-olds to remember their lines for the Kindergarten Christmas program and make sure no one knocks the scenery over—not that that’s what happened last year or anything. Jenny also dreads showing up at her best friend Cheryl’s annual holiday party without a date—for the fifth year running. The only bright spot in her life, at the moment, is Mr. Sanderson, who teaches next door. He’s cute, he’s smart and he’s terrific with kids. Unfortunately, he’s made it clear he’s not looking for love.
Hi, there! I write sweet PG-rated feel-good romance, romantic comedy and humorous women's fiction.
When I'm not writing, I try to keep my houseplants alive, continue my quest for the perfect gingerbread recipe and enjoy spending time with my husband of many years.
Presently, I don't blog, tweet, Facebook, pinter or insta-anything. Maybe someday :).
3 Stars which include a few chuckles for TINSEL TERRORS - a Sweet & Clean Romantic Comedy Short Story by Mazy Morris.
MY RATING GUIDE: 1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= THIS WAS SWEET/CUTE; 3.5= I enjoyed it!; 4= I liked it a lot. 5= I Loved it, it was great! (I rarely give 5 Stars).
TINSEL TERRORS ~ a Short Story. James Sanderson/ MMC is an elementary school teacher. Jenny Jorgensen/FMC teaches in the room next door. Jenny organized the Children’s Christmas program the previous year and disaster struck. The children accomplished the unimaginable. Somehow Jenny has gotten herself nominated again this year and tomorrow is the presentation for the parents. James will assist with a few other teachers. Will disaster strike twice? Perhaps romance?
TINSEL TERRORS ~ WHAT I LIKED 1) This short novella is perfect length for reading before bed, during lunch time, while waiting for an appointment or standing in queue. 2) It is a Quick reading yet funny short story. I snickered a few times while reading. 3) The content is Clean which certain readers prefer. 4) I enjoyed TINSEL TERRORS and intend to check out Mazy’s other works.
WHAT I DIDNT LIKE TINSEL TERRORS was an enjoyable and funny story but I felt it was simply a bit too brief - feeling a bit short of the true HEA I always desire. A solid (and happy) epilogue would have bumped TINSEL into a solid 4 for me. Especially during these times, I crave a HEA.
READER CAUTIONS ~ This is a Clean read which could be read by ages 14yrs and up. PROFANITY - None. VIOLENCE - None. SEXUAL SITUATIONS - None.
This was an okay holiday themed short story. You could read it during a bus trip, if it's a very short bus trip. Jenny and James are both kindergarten teachers and Jenny has had the hots for him for a while but she feels like he's not interested and she's making a fool out of herself. In the end, it turns out he is interested after all. It was an easy quick read, not very memorable. I got it as a freebie from somewhere. Steam level: kissing. I don't know what's going on with the author name, there seem to be several editions and some say the author is Alice Bex, mine says the author is Mazy Morris. I think authors should stick to one pen name per story.
Another lovely feel good story. She has rashly agreed to organise the annual Christmas concert by the kindergarten children. Frankly she couldn't say no to the beautiful green eyes of her fellow teacher. Now she was stuck! A play based on an elf and lots of tinsel might not have been the best idea especially when he asked her out for coffee. All she could was grunt. Will the play go off as planned? Will she get over her crush or will it lead to a stronger one? Great little festive read.
Tinsel Terrors is a short read that follows the life of a Kindergarten teacher, Miss Jenny, right before the Christmas show, of which she's in charge. So, if said show is the nightmare of every teacher, why did she agree? It may or may not have had to do with a certain next-door teacher who's clearly not interested in her. Or is he? This short read is perfect for Sweet romance fans to try a new author while also having a few laughs, getting a glimpse into Kindergarten teachers' lives around Christmas, as well as getting a taste of the season 🙂 ~3.5 stars
I have absolutely loved this little series of Christmassy novellas, they have been perfect quick tea break reads and I have loved them all. This was book number four and the last one in the series, which I am gutted about!
This little Christmas novella was wonderful, Christmassy and so super sweet. It definitely left me with major festive vibes! I loved the two main characters, they were perfect for each other and i really loved the heartwarming ending…
I thoroughly enjoyed this brief glimpse at kindergarten drama, both planned and unplanned. Having taught music to k-5th grade children, I can attest to the validity of the Christmas program description! There was quite a bit of laughing as Miss Jenny kept chaos to a minimum! What a fun short story.
This is a cute, sweet romance centered around Christmas. A lot of funny moments centered around Christmas and 2 teachers, Jenny and James who have classrooms next to each other. James asks Jenny out for coffee, then she asks him to go to a Christmas party with her. Short story with a nice ending.
She's had an awkward crush for a long time. He knows about it, but the situation was different before. There's small children with glittery stuff that gets everywhere involved. Nice and cheerful and short.
Cute and fluffy. The story flowed nicely and the prose was fairly good - I liked how the author managed to convey the couple's disastrous backstory just through brief mentions along the way.
Tinsel Terrors was a quick read, only fifteen pages, but it was too short for me to enjoy. The ending was enjoyable and the plot was cute. I just wish it was a bit longer.
Miss Jenny (as called by her kindergarten class) has a huge crush on the teacher next door, Mr. Sanders. Will their crush be mutual? Will sparks fly? Cute story.
"This year—she couldn’t imagine why—Miss Jenny had once again been elected by the rest of the Kindergarten teachers to plan the Christmas Program."
I really like the idea that Mazy Morris has here.. a coffee break rom-com that's short, sweet, and able to be finished in the amount of time you'll drink your morning coffee... BRILLIANT! I wish there were more of these out there, I'd honestly start every morning this way.
Over all very cute holiday vibes. Ms. Jenny Jorgenson is in charge of leading students in the holiday play. Mr. James Sanderson (a fellow teacher) ends up being her +1 at a friends Christmas party. Which all led to a hot cocoa date with warm holiday lights and mistletoe. Awww.
I adore the concept of this story so much! Two kindergarten teachers—Jenny, overwhelmed and stressed about the school’s typically chaotic Christmas program, and her long-time crush, Mr. Sanderson, aka James, the cute, smart, and wonderfully good-with-kids gentleman—finding love not in anyone else, but unexpectedly, in each other.
The story was utterly delightful. I loved how much unfolded in just a few short pages—coffee shop outings, first dates, the nerve-wracking D-Day of the Kindergarten Christmas program, Cheryl’s annual holiday party, and that magical moment when they kissed under the mistletoe on their romantic date night.
However, the story felt a bit rushed, especially during their romantic night together. I’m left craving more of their chemistry, conversation, banter, and deepening connection! But, as a novella, the quick pace and swift ending were to be expected. I would absolutely dive into a full-length novel of this story!
Throw in some cute crazy kids and a pair of teachers who are so ready for Christmas vacation and you got Tinsel Terrors. Jenny has been loveless for a while now and she has one last task before she can enjoy her Christmas vacation and that is putting on the annual Christmas show. So when her friends ask her to their annual Christmas party she doesn’t want to show up alone…again... so she asks her fellow teacher but not all goes as planned. Can two people who weren’t looking for love find it in the least likely place or will things continue as they always have? Tinsel Terrors is one that anyone can bond with especially those who have kind of given up on love, but remember sometimes we all find love in the unlikeliest of people and places.
Miss Jenny teaches kindergarten. When the charming teacher from the next classroom asks her to direct the school Christmas pageant, she finds herself saying yes despite the disaster that was last year's pageant. Miss Jenny has a huge crush on him despite the fact that he doesn't seem interested. So she is really confused when he asks her out for coffee after the pageant.
This is a very short story. It is charmingly sweet with a clean, feel good plot. It serves nicely for a quick pick me up.
This is a refreshing short story of a couple of kindergarten teachers who move their friendly work relationship into a more intimate one. It is a bit humorous. It also gives a realistic read of a tired teacher who is looking for love.
