When two red foxes have an argument which breaks apart their community, a gentle buffalo decides to take a braid of sweetgrass to a local elder and asks her to help with a sharing circle for all the animals. -- Publisher's website
I picked this up for my friend’s daughter and I teared up in the bookstore because it was so well written and illustrated. I think it deals with conflict, respect, and boundaries so well, and I wish I had had something like this when I was a kid.
The Sharing Circle is an introduction to sharing circles starring a variety of adorable cartoon plains animals. It goes over all of the different aspects of a sharing circle and is genuinely a lovely way to show how we can make meaningful changes in our relationships when things go wrong. Recommended!
This is a beautifully written and illustrated children’s book on Restorative Circles. I would highly recommend to parents, counselors, teachers that work with young children looking for social-emotional material. A community of animals learn how to express feelings safely through the power of the Sharing Circle.
The art in this book is so sweet and the imagery of the animals on the plains makes me so happy! A lovely message to teach to little kids, and especially to young adults and anyone who loves books :)
Loved this simple story about friends in a fight, the origins of the sharing circle and the power it holds. Would be awesome to introduce the sharing circle to kiddos.
This book is so beautiful. Love the story and the message and the opportunity to create and continue traditions. The illustrations are bright and brilliant.
