This is by far the most comprehensive book I have read on Prince and his life in music. Unlike most Biographies that tend to jump here and there this one stays true to the timeline, almost your living his life with him as it goes. It covers every single album, tour and studio sessions. The book is tight with so much material and analysis that it moves fast. It was so interesting to read little pieces of studio sessions and later work that were out of the public eye. It was a great insight into the life and career of one of Music's most celebrated artists. Its brilliantly written and stands as a fascinating insight into the life and career of Prince. Its a brilliant insight and would definitely search others out written by the Author.

Nothing to see here

There is absolutely nothing of note within the pages that has not been written before. For the novice/ casual fan, or those who thought that he stopped making music in the 90s. I believe the author did his best. But, fell short of creating a page turner.

But, honestly I am not disappointed. There is so little information out there-hardcore fans possess tons, if you know where to look. This no different than what countless have written before.

If you are new to the Prince universe, enjoy. Those who know the back-masked vocal by Lisa, in Baby I'm a Star, don't bother.

A Great Read. One of the best and most informative books I have read on Prince, his life and his music. The Author is clearly both a fan and an expert on him, what I enjoyed the most was the little pieces of information surrounding the facts, highlighting just what an amazing musician and performer Prince was. if your a Prince fan, a music fan, or a Biography fan then this book really is a must have.

One of the best books I have read so far on Prince. A real page turner with a great insight into the life and career of this musical genius. Wonderfully written covering his entire career in real time. Can't recommend this book enough, if your a fan of Prince you need this book. It's a different perspective to any other Prince book I have read. Really enjoyed it.
