Frozen - Book 5 - Winter temperatures in Alberta, Canada can drop as low as -22 to -40 F for weeks at a time. These temperatures are manageable in modern civilization. The odds of survival at these temperatures decrease when all modern conveniences such as furnaces and electricity are taken out of the equation. Such is the life many would face after an EMP. The teens had faced insurmountable odds of getting home. Each and every teenager in the group had been forced to do and act well beyond their years to survive to this point. Unfortunately, their parents, grateful to have them back refuse to accept the changes in their children and attempt to force them back into the young roles they had before the end of civilization. What they don’t understand is that it’s not possible to erase those changes. When the town is hit with a devastating virus, the teens take it upon themselves to travel first to the closest military encampment to find the medicine their loved ones so desperately need. Stone walled at every turn, they make the hard decision to embark on an epic journey to a faraway city to search the ruins for the help they need. Traveling through a Frozen wasteland, they not only have to fight the elements and other survivors but also the inner struggles and changes each one has to accept and live with. It’s not just the weather that has Frozen.
Remastered with new content, edits and covers the 6 book Stranded Series is sure to thrill.
Theresa Shaver lives in South Central Alberta Canada. As an avid reader, I used to dream about writing and sharing my own stories with the world. Publishing was a far off and intimidating goal until Amazon opened the gates! I love that I get real feed back from my fans on my books instead of some guy behind a desk who studies market trends. I write to share my dreams with the world and now I can. My first series is a Young Adult Post-apocalypse story. I love writing about the growth of characters faced with such huge challenges and plan to continue future stories in wrecked worlds. It's a new do it yourself world in so many industries so never stop believing in your dreams and do it yourself!
We're back with my favorite MCs and once again they're off on an adventure and it ends on a cliffhanger...making me buy book 6 right after I finished this one.
Winter has set in and this story taking place in Canada it gets cold. With the cold comes isolation which causes friction between characters. Add to that the fact that the parents treat their children like children instead of the adults they had to become on the road and it's no wonder that they take the first opportunity to go out on a mission.
The mission? Finding medication to battle against the disease that's sweeping through town causing many deaths.
We get to see other communities and how they function which was interesting. My fav character Cooper came back in play which made me happy. The rest of the story was good until the annoying cliffhanger. 😉
This is book 5 in the series and drops off with a cliffhanger, had me screaming NO!!! What happens next. I couldn't get enough of this series. The books are separated by how the groups divided up after the lights went out and ventured home. Book 1 followed the group that went by land, book 2 the group that went by sea, book 3 is the merge of the land and sea groups, book 4 is about the group that stayed behind, book 5 jumps back to groups land and sea. Read the books in order. They are filled with a ton of action and life and death situations with characters that will draw you in and have you invested in the story.
The students are home but are they safe? After saving their town from captors they are not adjusting to being treated like kids again. When winter comes they get stuck inside but a plague takes hold in the town. It is time for the Mapleleaf Mafia to save the day again as well as their sanity. The evolution of the characters and their relationships continues as Quinn loses himself, Josh is forced to take lead with Alex. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see what happens.
I enjoyed this continued story. I don't like the ending. Left you hanging to buy the next book. I read 5 of these books. I'm done. I'll just use my imagination to end this series on my own. I'm sure most will keep on reading this series. It's probably worth it. I just have many other books to read & this series to me has run it's course & I'm ready to end it & move on.
I love being able to read about some of my favorite characters again. The story is not quite as entertaining as the first books in the sense that they aren't traveling across countries anymore but it is very realistic in a coming of age story. I was glad for the addition of the PTSD, and surprised only one seems to have it. Minor editing errors.
The inner struggles of young adults growing up. Makes me smile when they choose to stick together and help because it is the right thing to do. Willing to face dangerous situations again because they want to help and know that they can do it together. Left me anxious for the next install and how it all ends for them.
I hate "to be continued" at the end of a tv show or a book. I really liked Frozen but im left hanging off the proverbial cliff because i dont know the name of the book that continues from Frozen. Has it been written yet? If so what's it called? I feel very frustrated right now but Frozen was good just expect to be frustrated at the end.
This is the 5th book in the Stranded series. I liked reading about the children’s hospital and the zoo. It was nice to hear about how other people were dealing with life since the EMP. The book ends rather abruptly and on a cliffhanger. I did not like that, but the series is complete, so I won’t have to wait to read the next book.
Ok so this wasn't my favorite book in the series but it was still a good read. And the ending....!!!!!!! Eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. I can't get enough of these characters!
I’ve read the rest of the series and was looking forward to another good yarn. Unfortunately there was no ending. The whole storyline was based on getting the meds and getting back to the farm. Something was missing, the ending.
School faction turned night mare, fighting to get home to the families. Life for these adults is an amazing transformation of who the were before and the young adults they have become.
I have literally read over 100 dystopian and post apocalyptic books over the last couple of years and all of Theresa Shavers books so far. The stranded series are at the top of my list of favorites. If Mrs. Shaver writes it I will read it. Anxiously awaiting the next book.
I hate being left in the air for such a long time. I just finished this series for the second time and am anxiously awaiting the next, and also waiting for the sequel to the other series. Hope to see them soon.
Books are hard to up down.Once you get caught up in their world and story line you want to find out if they survive. Enjoyed all of the series. Opens your eyes to the what is in this world.
I have enjoyed this series. Well written with wonderful characters. This is a fresh take on an amp attack. I am looking forward to more from this author
