The Savior should be on the cover instead of that woman's photo.

This is a study resource for individuals and families available for free on ChurchofJesusChrist.org or for download on the Gospel Library app (Blue with Christus).

It integrates modern day talks and speeches related to the New Testament with books in the NT from cover to cover. About 4-5 themed are teased out in each section although there are also ample prompts to allow readers to find what is meaningful to them while reading. Each chapter is broken down to span a number of chapters of scripture.

This study guide requires a bit more commitment than a “scripture a day” style option but it can easily be completed investing 15-20 minutes or so per day. Conversely, if you go deep into each area it can entertain a reader for 30-60 minutes per day.

I appreciated the effort of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to empower individuals and families to take more responsibility for their own edification. This is found both structurally at a fundamental level with the proliferation of the priesthood and lay clergy and callings for men, women and teenager children alike as well as the push for individual ownership of scriptures and their study.

Adding a 2020 lens, many appreciate the value of this and the next year’s release for the Book of Mormon in a time when it became necessary to observe church services in our homes during COVID 19. Our family uses these resources weekly to help our children learn some fundamental lessons about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I absolutely loved reading this manual along with the New Testament this year! I loved reading the questions that caused me to ponder. I loved reading the challenges that caused me to think & act. And I loved learning more about the reasons we have the New Testament in the first place - to learn & grow!

I really appreciate what the church is doing with home centered gospel study, and this manual DID have some great stuff. But mostly it felt like past manuals, with a lot of dead-end questions, and virtually no new approaches to familiar scriptures/topics/themes. But I still feel like it was a worthwhile companion to the New Testament, and I'm looking forward to using the Book of Mormon one next year.

I've loved having this manual to accompany my study of the New Testament this year. At first the instruction to record my impressions felt teadious. But as I soldiered forward I found that was one of the greatest experiences of the year. I'm so thankful for the Lord's direction to create this new initiative.

I have absolutely LOVED the come follow me program! I love how the manual is set up and I’ve learned so much! It has strengthened my testimony and knowledge of the New Testament so much. I can’t wait to study the Book of Mormon manual next year. It truly is an inspired program.

I am really liking the emphasis on home study. It helped me to read all of the New Testament this year. The 4 star rating was as much on me as the book as we have room to improve as a family in taking time to discuss the readings each week.

The study plan of this book got me started on a much more in-depth study of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I realized that additional study plans can be created in Gospel Library. Creating & using additional study plans greatly increased my joy, especially as I made studying them the first part of my day.

The 2020 Come Follow me is available as of this writing (2019-12-11) and I look forward to a continued increase in understanding and joy.

Soooo, true confessions: I did NOT do the entire book. I started it in January, gave up sometime in February or March and then my husband and I dedicated time on Sunday for the last 8 weeks or so to do it together. I am sure it is a fantastic help to a lot of people. This kind of thing just doesn’t work for me/us. I realize I may have completely missed the boat and didn’t figure out how to use it effectively for MY needs. Everyone is different. So many of the questions/prompts were mind-numbing: what do you know about why Jesus Christ came to earth? I could have gone deeper. I could have tried harder. Maybe I’ll get it figured out next year.

This is the first time I've read the entire New Testament with a manual for myself. I really enjoyed the reflective questions and the cross-referencing with other scripture, including Conference talks. It was a super resource! I liked how there was plenty of reading to last the whole week of scheduled study, but it didn't ever feel overwhelming. I could tell a big difference in Sunday School. People are actually reading/studying the lessons before coming to class, and it helps a lot with the discussion. I'm sad to finish it. I'd love to redo the NT (Particularly the second half) next year too. For now, my notes and references are still included in the manual itself.

A great resource to guide my family through studying the Savior’s life throughout the year.
I appreciated that the New Testament was divided into doable portions throughout the year. It is further divided into sections for an individual to ponder and for families to discuss.
Although some weeks were better than others, it was deeply meaningful for me to read, ponder and discuss my Savior throughout the year. It became the focus of my life this year and I hope it has in turn made me more Christ-like.
I loved the art work scattered throughout, there were fun ideas for small group activities.

Does alright for historical context, though deeper insight and scene setup would have been helpful. Occasionally narrow-mindedly self-righteous.

What it does do well is in its reflective application of The New Testament. Many of its questions are superficial, though several are hard-hittingly poignant.

I also really like its Family Home Evening suggestions. Generally, their scope fits well for a spiritually unified and focused family, though may prove weak and disinteresting to other families. A stronger mix of the spiritual, insightful, and fun might help those sections.

I've really enjoyed studying the New Testament this year, and this manual was a great tool to guide me and my family. There were lots of thoughtful questions, additional resources (linked in the Gospel Library), beautiful artwork, and even some space in the margins for notes (I write small!). I loved that the chapters were labeled with dates so it was easy to stay on track throughout the year; there was no extra schedule to keep track of. I'm glad we're continuing with a similar manual next year.

If you are looking for something to help you study the New Tesrament, either on your own or as a family, this is the book to read. We had wonderful experiences with this book and our family last year. For years I've been trying to find something that helps us do what this book has done. It changed the way we studied scripture and brought it deeper into our hearts. It helped me teach my children about Jesus in a more meaningful way and strengthened my knowledge and testimony as well.

I have read/studied the New Testament over ten times, but this year I felt closer to Christ than I have before. I loved spending the first six months on JUST the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And during the last six months, I received more enlightenment from Acts, Romans, the Hebrews, and the books of Peter. I testify that Jesus Christ lives and that He is our Savior.

This was an excellent guide through the New Testament. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this while reading the New Testament. Loved the supplemental materials suggested in the book, but the main highlight for me were the the interactive parts and discussion with family. Made lots of notes in the book throughout the year. Somewhat like journal entries...

I really enjoyed this style of study and I think Sunday school lessons/discussions were more productive and insightful for it. My only qualm with it was I wish there were more ideas in it for teaching young children about the new testament.

A good study guide to help you think about what you are reading. Some of the questions were super basic, and my cynical self struggled to take it seriously at times, but when I did I had good insights and understandings.

A study guide for the New Testament. Took me almost a year to develop a routine to study this book. When we, as a family, got going we did well. Did I learn much? Yes, but I need to learn more! It is an excellent study guide.

Well, the first year is done! This was such a great way to study the New Testament. I am currently serving in primary so I really rely on individual study and this manual makes it so much easier. Can't wait for Book of Mormon this year.

I loved using this as a study guide with the New Testament this year. It helped along my inquiries but also encouraged a freedom to follow where I felt inspired to study more in depth, whether it be a different place in the Bible or the Book of Mormon or doctrine and covenants.

I thought this manual was a good starting point for family discussion. Later in the year, I was happy to come across several additional resources that enhanced this basic manual and our family discussions.
