After taking out her anger on the Paragon cabals in a big way, there’s nowhere in Los Angeles’ four magical territories that Nina can hide. Good thing she’s done hiding. It’s time to throw down.
Wow. So Blackbird did not pull punches in this issue. The revelations in this issue were…unexpected, but honestly? It fits. It completely explains everything, including why everyone has been so cagey lately. Have I mentioned that I’m completely in love with the artwork for this series? It’s absolutely amazing. This cover is one of my favorites. I think. It’s hard to decide when they’ve all been so lovely! Also, did I mention that there were more cats in this issue than normal? I love it! They’re all super cute.
Genuinely didn't see that one coming! This series is getting better and better with each issue, and I love that even though it's supposed to be for her own good, we're not made to see the mom and sister as good people. They might have had good reasons, but they're shitty people who fucked up a teenager's entire life and refuse to take responsibility for what they did. I truly hope it stays that way, I'm tired of stories were the wronged hero forgives and forgets. One can move on without excusing anything, and I love that - so far - it feels like that's where the story is heading.
whats with all the horrible writing? why so much obtuse hate for the west side?? or should i say.... The Westside, kind of like that dumb Nightside thing
anyway yeah I'll be finishing the arc and reading the next issue, but I think that the quality of this is just not up to par to continue beyond that. hopefully there's no hook at the end of issue 6, but honestly if there is that would be more than impressive - i don't think this series could manage that much juice.
This is probably the best issue yet. I loved the revelations we get and it’s starting to make sense. Blackbird is definitely my favorite comic at the moment. Everything, from the fantastical elements, to the story and the art style is perfect. I am curious to see what the sister has to say in the next issues.
3/5. The plot twist wasn’t surprising since it was hinted since book two. I don’t trust Carter or Clint and I think she should think twice about becoming a paragon. Also the lying cat was cursed by ninas mom and now he can show her the truth about what happened the night of the earthquake. The fighting with Marisa was funny bc of the cat incident but that’s it.
Wow, I wish every issue was this packed with material because it was so amazing! That ending was unexpected by me and it really does drive the story so much closer to conclusion. I can't wait to read the next one. 😊
More of a 3.5 star rating; This volume had a lot to process but i’m finally starting to get the answers to questions that have confused me for several comic issues now.
