This book is amazing. Teenage angst, drama, forbidden love. Ugh. My heart. What's not to love? He's a bad boy with bad ideas. She's a sweetheart, perfection, and the apple of her daddy's eye. Of course, Dad is always watching, forbidding she get wrapped up in anything that could derail all the hard work she's done to get where she is in life.

But that drive to let go is there. And so is he. The boy who will change her world. Strap on your seatbelt because you're in for a ride filled with laughter, tears, anger, and a million ways to let go. Or hold on. Depends on how you look at it. Read it. You won't regret a moment of it.

Now, where's my sequel?!

Forbidden Young Love Written To Perfection!!

He's the bad boy that every girl secretly wants. She's the good girl that no boy is good enough for. When they're together, they're an unstoppable force.

I absolutely loved every word of this book. Flawlessly written, the words will take you on an emotional rollercoaster and leave you feeling broken and bruised, but in the end your heart will be whole again.
K.B. Andrews writes young love like no other. She is truly a hidden gem.

A very sweet Romeo and Juliet without the dying kind of romance. I actually really loved this story. All she wants is to be free and he wants to open up her cage. He's the poor forbidden boy nextdoor and she's the popular Cheerleader. Somewhere along the way I joined the squad cheering them on. Fingers crossed for their story to continue.

Happy release day to the fantastic K.B. Andrews and her newest novel, Sweat. I have always loved K.B.'s novels, but this one truly hit home with me and I loved every single word of it. Addison is the beautiful, smart, good-girl that lives with her father, whereas, Ian lives next-door with his drinking and drugging mother, drives a cool car, and just does his own thing. Then one day she starts watching him and he notices. What does this all mean? This is the perfect love story.

Ian and Addison's story just blew me away. It's odd to admit, but I was once Addison. It's hard to believe now at 43, sitting here with a glass of wine, and 40 lbs later - but I was her. And of course, what did I do? I fell for the bad boy that went to a neighboring high school. My Dad was furious, tried to keep us apart, and yet we still ended up married and having two children.

Whether you have lived this story or not, it's an outstanding book. Addison does the thing that I think all of the "cool girls" want to do when they're in high school. She does what she wants without worrying about what others will say. Now, there is plenty of drama and conflict for her and Ian so she doesn't get the privilege of truly being herself for long - but at least we get to see what's really on the inside. This amazing young-adult romance that K.B. Andrews has written embodies all of the angst from our teen years whether it's a snobby girl, an overbearing and protective parent, or a bunch of boys that, unfortunately, think that they really are funny.

Besides the overall plot and theme of the novel, I love how this one was developed. Boy and girl know each other but finally, speak to one another. Then they decide to be together and deal with all of the external conflicts. Then they concede and try to stay away from one another. The plot builds and builds with rising and falling action and I wondered several times what would come of Ian and Addison. K.B. put so much emotion and passion into their story that it's impossible for any reader to not be immediately sucked into the novel and invested in the characters.

Will Ian and Addison find a happy ending or will they be the teenage love that got away? You'll have to read to find out! Bravo to one of my absolute favorite authors, K.B. Andrews for such an amazing novel. I have loved everything of hers that I have read, but this one really touched me.

This is one of those reads that should not be missed and skipped over as the author tells a beautiful story of two teenagers, Ian and Addison who are mature beyond their years. A story that drew me in from the get go about a High School young woman, who seems perfect in everyone’s eyes, the popular cheerleader, dating the quarterback, smart and beautiful who seems happy in her life....but...inside she is dying, wanting to break free from the pressures and her verbally abusive father. Then there’s Ian, the bad boy in High School, who doesn’t give a darn, who’s mom is good for nothing and is looking for his escape. He has had a thing for Addison, his next door neighbour for years and he “sees” her like no one else. Addison has snuck her glances at the bad boy neighbour for years as well and when things come to a head with her dad and friends, she runs into the arms of the one person no one approves of...can they make it.
Oh my my my my, this author does it again with a story that had me in tears at times and swooning at the young man who is wise beyond his years, with a heart of gold under the tough exterior and that heart belongs to only one young woman. These two stole my breath and had me cheering for them throughout the story as they struggle with peer pressure and adults who underestimate them and their love. I’m also relieved the author didn’t leave the readers hanging in the end and it was worth the wait. Even though there was no epilogue, as I would have loved to see these two in the future with their HEA lasting through the years, I could not give it less than 5 stars.

I have always loved reading young adult romance, it takes me back to those earth-shattering feelings, the deep and undying love where every drama is the absolute end of the world. Ahhh, those were the days. This book brought all that back to me. I loved it. I felt every stomach-churning moment of love and lust, along with Ian and Addison.

The story was so well written that I was there with them. I had to hold myself back from beating a couple of characters to a pulp and hold my breath when events turned, but I just soaked every word in.

Addison is such a good girl; a great student and daughter, popular, cheerleader, beautiful and seems to have it all. While Ian is the bad boy who is waiting for his chance with Addison, his next door neighbour. The two of them are chalk and cheese but, oh boy, are they just made for each other. I felt their love and the painful push and pull that life throws at them. A real page-turner!

I haven't read any of K.B Andrews books before but I'm definitely going to rectify that.

Sweat is freaking Perfect!!!

This book is fantastic. K.B. Andrews brings everything to the table with it. I was happy, sad, angry, wanted to hit a few of the characters, and wanted to hug Addy and Ian. It is by far one of my favorite books of 2018.

I have read this book so many times. I literally feel like I know these characters inside and out. Both Addy and Ian are just so freaking loveable. They truly are a favorite of mine.

Addy is so sheltered and oppressed by her overbearing father. The way she longs to get out of his control makes me seriously wanna punch him in the face. But she is strong, smart and fiesty. She believes wholeheartedly that Ian can set her free of her meager existence.

Ian, the not so bad boy, watches Addy from afar. Angered with how she is treated by her father. Waiting for his chance with her, knowing he is the key to let her fly free.

The emotions that Andrews brings to the surface are entirely relatable on so many levels, to so many young people. She nails it on the freaking head. One of the best YA books ever!!

Sweat is one of those stories that reminds us of first love and the impetuousness of youth. Addison is the golden girl. She's in the "right" crowd, keeps her grades up, dates the popular boy - she has it all, except she doesn't want any of it. What she does want is the bad boy next door. On the surface, Ian is everything she shouldn't be around, and her father has no problem with ensuring that she stays on the path he's set for her, whether by force or trickery. The story is emotional and packed with teenage angst, but it's also thoroughly compelling from start to finish. It's a Romeo and Juliet style, coming of age romance minus the tragic ending. The forbidden romance trope isn't a new one, and we've all seen this story done and done again, but KB Andrews took it and made it all refreshing with Ian and Addison. It is a romance, but it's also a story of following your heart regardless of what society dictates.

Such a strong story that mostly fall for upper YA, that was well written and caught me by the heart. Addison and Ian are great characters that were great and so so vivid. I loved them o much - I wanted to get to know what will happen as fast as I can, but I also wanted this story to last as long as it could.
The plot was nice and easy, but wrapping is so many emotions that I was like a crybaby during the read and I was proud of it! As Addison was so much like me when I was trying to be perfect in my life and she represented that kind of life so perfectly! And the twist with one "little" thing and the emotions there - so so good. Ms. Andrews for sure knows how to write a book with all kinds of emotions. And I would classify this as kind of Romeo & Juliet retelling - I was never a fan but this one I devoured!
I hope there will be a spin-off!

I just finished Sweat and it was unlike anything I was expecting. Addison is the picture of popularity. She has everything. Her father is the upstanding, contributing member of society that everyone respects. He is the school Principal. Ian is the poster child for a convict in the making. Or are they? This story has all the elements of showing why you should never judge people based on appearances or what masks they put on for society. If you look beneath the fog, behind the curtains, and sweep away the paint you will find that not all is as it seems. I really enjoyed this book and I think you will too.

This book takes place during Addison and Ian's senior year of high school and is a coming of age romance. It begins as an opposite attracts story and evolves into a tender romance in which Addison learns much about herself and owning the person she wants to be. I loved all of the high school drama and pettiness surrounding there romance and am very happy they found their happily ever after in spite of the people who tried to stand in their way. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Addison is the good girl who does what others expect of her. She is a good student, a cheerleader, popular and her father is the principal of the school.

Ian is the bad boy next door. He is the one that everyone tells her she should away from as all he will ever do is bring her down.

They appear to be two opposites who have nothing in common but sometimes appearances can be deceiving. This is a romantic and emotional story of finding your own happiness despite what others think.

Straight-laced and at the top of her class Addison feels like everything she is doing is a lie, others expectations placed on her. But what does she really want? Bad boy Ian lives next door and has been watching her, waiting for her to let go. But can forbidden love really give Addison all of the answers she has been looking for? This story is filled with coming of age teenage angst, breaking out and proves that love knows no bounds. Beautifully written and a fabulous read.

I really enjoyed the story of Addison and Ian! I loved everything about the book, the storyline, the characters, and of course K.B.'s writing style.

Ian and Addison live next to each other, and they've both had a little crush on each other for some time. However, they come from different worlds. When their worlds finally collide together, it's magical, hard, but magical. Until her father comes and finds them.

Addi needs to get out of her head to accept the fact she's been living a lie. A lie to herself, her father (who is not a nice person), her friends, just everyone. Ian is able to bring her out of her shell and see who she really is.

How will people act at school with them?
What will happen when Ian turns 18?
What happens with Addi turns 18?

Addi has to break up with her boyfriend, who I HATE BY THE WAY!! But they break up and he's so mean to her, and tries to hurt her. Ian is right there to take care of that situation!! I love that he's so protective over her!

You can literally feel the pull between Addi and Ian throughout the whole book. Their love for one another is palpable, you feel it between the pages.

What another great book by K.B. Andrews! I LOVED IT!

This was just bad. I really hate insta love and this was super insta love. They have barely ever spoken and the first time they do they make out with the best kiss they have both ever had?! The book is super fast paced. Within 2 days they are together and Addison does a complete 180. The Characters are very one dimensional. This probably would have been a dang for me but it was only 200 pages so I pushed through it but this was really cheesy and over the top.

Oh, to be young and in love. While I remember high school was slightly different, it’s easy to imagine clicks and how horrible it can be for some kids at that stage.
This is such a great story. I was on edge the entire time. Just waiting for what will happen next. It’s never a dull moment for Ian and Addison. You would not want to miss this! 5 stars!
