I’ve been trying to follow the “law of attraction” and believe the positive affirmations I repeat to myself, but it’s hard to do when I keep tripping, falling face first, and running into men who I should stay away from.

Conducting inventory the morning after a one-night-stand is not something I should brag about when I planned to be happily married at this point in my life.

This new guy is a milkman and a milk model which is a totally normal career … not much can go wrong. Or, so I thought. It turns out, some women like to hire milkmen for reasons that have nothing to do with milk. It’s weird, trust me.

I need to figure out if I can handle the lifestyle of being the milkman’s other half, or if I should search for another source of dairy.

Depending on my decision, though, I need to ask myself if I’m prepared to tell my future children that their father is, in fact, the milkman.

Madelyn seems to have bad luck when it comes to her career choices; she goes from one job to another quite quickly. So when she gets a job fast with a start-up advertising company as a fashion stylist, she is excited. This should have made her suspicious, but she needed a job as her finances were looking bleak and in the red. Wesley Moon was a child model who was only known for one thing - the Got Milk? Kid. He was the cute childhood model with the milk mustache. After that, his resume was filled with modeling jobs for second-rate companies. He has been hired by Madelyn's company to model; the thing is though that he never read his contract correctly -Wesley thought he was modeling for a bring back of his past, not a Breast milk commercial. This picture gets out and will begin a domino effect of not only trouble for the company Madelyn has just joined three days ago but also for Madelyn's personal life as she and Wesley start to form a bond and chemistry sizzles from the page. At least for Madelyn, he is a good substitute for Timber. The Milkman was a fun romance read, that has both it's excellent and enjoyable parts but also can be a tad slow in places. Will Madelyn be able to tell her future children that their father was indeed "the milkman" or was he just another notch on her terrible boyfriend track records like Nick or the guys who flatmate keeps trying to fix her with her ongoing internet ventures?

Milkman is book five in the Man Cave series but it can be read as a standalone. This one started off a little confusing for me. It started with a prologue from Wesley then we jumped Chapter One with Madelyn' s crazy life but once I saw the connection, I wasn't confused anymore.
Wesley was a child model for a milk commercial. After he has has second rate modelling jobs. . Being a model is not his dream job. Madelyn just started a new job at an advertising company. Her new company is crazy. Her boss has weird ideas. She meet Wesley at her new job when he's called in to be a model for one of their campaigns. Her and Wesley have great chemistry. They keep finding themselves in funny situations. This one was definitely a fun read.

I am loving the Man Cave series by Shari J. Ryan. They are fun and over-the-top reads that are just fun to get lost in! In Milkman we get a story that will have you laughing out loud and wanting to know what will happen next. Maddy and Wesley are fun characters with so much chemistry and wacky moments.

Maddy and Wesley have been struggling with who they are and who they want to be separately. Believing their luck is changing with their new opportunity at a new company, they instead find themselves in zany situations with some crazy people!

Milkman by Shari J. Ryan is just such a fun and light read with over-the-top humor and romance and I loved it. I love how they connected, their slow burn romance and their very hot chemistry.
Though this is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Shari Ryan gives us yet another installment to her Man Cave series with her new release (Book 5) Milkman. Although Milkman is a part of a series of marvelous men by Ryan, you don’t necessarily have to read each of these as a series in order to meet Maddy and her milkman, Wesley.

Ryan created a unique slow burn of a romance between characters whose main message was to work on yourself before sharing a HEA. Both characters are searching for what they want out of life. With that comes a lot of hard decisions and timing is everything. Wesley and Maddy struggle immensely with their self worth as well as where their life is headed. Although this is a heavy topic, Ryan manages to lighten the mood with well placed, funny milk humor and some very colorful side characters.

In the end, Ryan created a funny, interesting book with a unique perspective with Milkman making this one a definite one click worthy read.

Milkman was a funny and interesting book with a unique and somewhat comedic story line. Both Wesley and Madelyn are down on their luck in terms of life and their employment status when they end up meeting through a mutual job oppportunity. The chemistry between them is there from the start, but they have a sort of slow burn friendship turned more. They both ultimately learn that you have to work on yourself before you can be the best you for someone else. I enjoyed the ending of the book.

Hands down my favorite Shari J. Ryan’s book that I have read to date!

Wesley & Madelyn has some hilarious banter that kept me laughing! And Madelyn’s roommate Layla had some of the best one liners throughout the story.

I love a book that can have me laughing and the next minute make me feel for the character. A great story and I look forward to more!

Good Story Masked by Childish Humour.

I see lots of people reviewing this as the funniest thing they've read. Maybe if you're 13. I barely cracked a smile. Definitely more ridiculous than funny, in my opinion. That all said, there's a decent story in there and that line in the bad towards the end "It was nice to see you again, Madelyn" actually made me cry!

Wesley & Madelyn

This is book five in the Man Cave Collection, it was a good book, but I had expected so much more after reading the other books in the series. There were no major issues with it, but I just didn’t feel the connection that I was hoping for.

This is book 5 in The Man Cave series and can be read as a standalone.

I have read the book and I have to say, and I know I may be alone, but I was a bit let down with this one. I had such high expectations from reading the last few. I saw the blurb and who doesn't like a beautiful male model advertising milk. Milkman, though well written I was just not as happy with it. The pace was a bit slow, and some jokes I didn’t get.

Wesley Moon got his start as the Get Milk kid. You know the one with the milk mustache. Let's fast forward to now and he hasn't been as a hot commodity so now he has been asked to join and be the model to the new campaign.

Madelyn is on her next job. She doesn't have the best of luck in keeping her jobs. They simply don't last long but this one is something along the lines of what she wants to do. She wants to fashion advertising. So she is really excited about this new startup company. Let's face it she needs the job and money. Once she starts she realizes it is not what she thought it would be.

Now, this book isn't horrible, it isn't what I thought it would be. I found myself not getting attached to the story and people. I want to be sucked in and grabbed. I felt like it was grasping.

I liked the lead characters plenty. Wesley and Madelyn are good people. They have a great friendship but I don't really feel the chemistry with them. The other people leave a lot to be desired. I did not like Madelyn’s roommate and she is the main one. She is all about herself and doesn't give a crap about her friend.

All in all, it wasn't bad it just wasn't for me. I will read more because as I said I liked the other books.

The Man Cave series is one of the funniest rom-com I have read lately. Milkman had me laughing throughout the book. Wesley was a child model who is known for his commercials for milk. He is now an adult model but really wants to do something different. Maddy is trying to find out what she is suppose to be doing with her life. After losing her job, she thinks she's find the ideal job working for a start up advertising agency. But the job is not what she expected but she feels that she has to continue working until she find another job. Wesley and Maddy meets at a commercial shoot for an advertising campaign that Maddy's agency is doing for a client. The client has an unusual product and Maddy doesn't agree with the direction that her boss is taking with the campaign. She does what she is suppose to. Wesley finally wises up to what he is modeling for and is furious.

What happens afterward is a mess of craziness, attraction and trying to find employment for both Wesley and Maddy. They both started with friendship but that didn't last long due to their crazy chemistry with each other. Add in Maddy's crazy roommate's business idea that involves Wesley which they implement and Maddy's new job that was a better fit for her and you are in for a ride.

Wesley and Maddy are both on the same journey to discover themselves, learning to take the necessary steps towards what they reach really want in life, and having someone in their life that understands them and love them for who they are. Their journey is just a little crazy and filled with fun and chemistry!

A quirky romance that meets all the traditional requirements

Maddie Wall meets Wesley Moon (yes, their initials form a palindrome which oddly was not mentioned in the book) at an ill-fated shoot for a breast milk ad where he sports a milk-tash. Sparks fly as Twitter explodes, leaving them both looking for a career change while pursuing a slow-simmer romance between them.

Both of the main characters are fun, funny and intelligent. We learn a little more about Maddie’s past at first than we do of Wesley’s, but we soon learn that they are of a like mind when it comes to reading self-help books. Clearly, they are in the wrong jobs, but what will become of them as they attempt to improve their lives and will their new-look worlds include each other?

Maddie’s roommate provides some side plot as she thinks up her latest internet business venture and ropes both protagonists into her plans at one time or another. Yet, she is not a likeable character, and in fact, I can’t think of a single supporting character in this book who is.

Surprisingly, given the other books in this series, the sex is rather lackluster or non-existent as our heroes follow their paths to a better life.

A personal note here: My pet peeve of the use of the word ‘moron’ to describe oneself or another doing something rather stupid is not needed in a PC world where a thesaurus is only a Google search away.

Still, the romance is fun and I did particularly enjoy the ending, before the epilogue. Romance lovers will enjoy this quirky light read.

Reviewed on behalf of The Book Boyfriend Addict. A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 5th (4th that I’ve read) standalone book in Shari J. Ryan’s Man Cave series. It’s an oftentimes over the top rom-com with more milk puns than you’ll ever find in one place! Madelyn’s work situation and how she handles it was arguably my favorite part of this book, it was funny and so crazy, it’ll just suck you right in. The romance aspect of the story didn’t totally do it for me, although I did like Wesley and thought they were cute together, ultimately. I felt like I never really got to know Wesley that well, I would have enjoyed a few chapters from his POV (aside from just the prologue). Plus I felt like they barely spent any time together so the few scenes where they actually were together just felt awkward. I almost preferred them as just friends. He was wrapped up in her work drama and I enjoyed seeing how they helped each out of their various jams. One scene involving a blind date, “chocolate bananas”, and chicken parm was seriously funny and had me laughing out loud! If you’re in the mood for a silly, comedy with a side of romance, you’ll probably get a kick out of this one!

Milkman is the fifth installment in Shari Ryan's Man Cave series of standalones, and it's another romcom full of laugh-out-loud moments, awkward encounters and a slow burn between the two main characters.

Madelyn is working at a start-up advertising company -- one that has very loose morals -- when she meets Wesley, a model who was famous as a child for being the "Get Milk" kid. There are a few starts and stops for the two before they get together, but even once they do, their romance is on shaky ground.

It's not all hearts and flowers for this couple. Madelyn and Wesley's story is a bit heavier than some of the other couples in this series. They both struggle with the paths their lives are on, and have major hang-ups about their self-worth. While there is a lot of humor in this story, there is also some deep soul-searching that the two of them must do before they can get to their HEA. I loved seeing how they both grew as individuals before coming together as a couple when the timing was finally right.

And the milk humor! I never thought I would read so many milkman jokes! The end of this story is complete with a wonderful HEA set several years in the future, where Maddy tells their daughter the story of just how she fell for the milkman.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

It all started when I got a new job, which came with a new guy. That’s when I managed to cause an unforeseeable disaster, which took down an entire company in less than a week.
The new job, the new guy and a big mouth led to another giant mistake. Then, one more for good measure.

Flash forward a couple of weeks, and ... I’ve got milk ... because I’m dating the milkman, and yes, milk did his body good.

Not only do milkmen still exist, but I’ve come to learn that some women hire a milkman to deliver more than just milk.

I’m not the sharing type, but I also don’t like to cry over spilled—you get my point. So, I can either have a cow or search for greener pastures.

Depending on my decision, though, I need to ask myself if I’m prepared to tell my future children that their father is, in fact, the milkman.

I loved this story! Shari has such a unique way of telling a story and this book was no different! There were many times I laughed out loud while reading their story! Maedlyn & Wesley's story was a slow burn and they definitely had their issues on figuring life out! This is a good read!

Milkman is another wonderfully charming, hilarious, and steamy romance in Ryan's Man Cave series! Both Wesley and Madelyn have career and life goals that keep alluding them. Madelyn is living with a friend who uses her to start up new businesses and Wesley had a mom who forced him to use his looks instead of his brain. They are stuck on a path that is frustrating and they don't know how to change directions. No matter how hard they try to fix their situations, things just never work the way they want them to. But that path lead them to each other. Despite the awkward reason, they are very attracted to each other. Their back and forth lead to some crazy sexual tension and explosive chemistry. This steamy, slow burn romance is sweet, hilarious, awkward, and heartfelt. It is filled with witty banter, lovably, quirky characters, awkward moments and lots of heart. Don't miss this latest standalone rom-com in the Man Cave series!

Shari Ryan has done it again with her Man Cave series--Milkman was hilarious and just what I needed!

I have adored all the 'man' stories, but this one tops them all. Seriously, there were moments I literally laughed out loud while reading it. Wesley and Madelyn's story was to die for--I kept shaking my head, asking myself how does Shari Ryan come up with this stuff! A long-time fan of the author, I love when Shari puts out a romantic comedy because she's just so dang good playing her characters back and forth--some of the things they say, oh my!

Even though Milkman is part of a series, don't worry if you've not read the others. They're perfectly fine to read out of order, but fair warning, you're doing to have moments where you're wiping your tears from all the laughing. Aside from the hilarity, there is truly an enjoyable store here and I think most readers will like the humor and light-heartedness that Ryan delivers.

An amazing author with a fun sense of humor, for sure!

I do not usually give ratings this bad, but this was just… Not good.
First of all neither of the main characters was particularly likable or trustworthy. I don’t have the time or patience to get to know/develop some empathy for these characters. The backstory on both Madelyn and Wesley was hella confusing. Don’t dabble in complicated family/parental issues without fully flushing out the scenario. It just left me confused.
This leads me to my second issue, which was that I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on for 3/4 of the book. They were unnecessary complications, strange tangential characters (her weird ass roommate), and monologues that I had no interest in reading.
The other books in the series were a little borderline for me. I think this author does a lot with making unlikable characters interesting to read, and the other books have pulled it out for me, this one did not. I would pretty much recommend the other books in the series, but not this one.

Milkman (Man Cave Series Book 5) by Shari Ryan

5+++++ Stars

What a spectacular romantic comedy written by Shari!! Fair warning: Laugh out loud moments. Shari totally out did herself! I can always look forward to a great book when it comes to her and this surely didn't disappoint!! I love everything about it! I was hooked!

"Always consider your options, and be careful if there is a full glass of milk sitting at the edge of a table when hands are reaching out from every direction. The milk will continue to spill until life's lesson is understood. Also it's inappropriate for a grown man to cry over spilled milk, so I don't recommend that either."

"He's a Milk-Dud, no question about it."

"The only hashtag I can focus on is #milkman."

Very highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

Who is Wesley Moon? What does he do for a living? What is he best known for? When interviewed about it, what does he say? How does Jules, the interviewer, try to spin his comments? Who is Madelyn Wall and what does she do for a living? What is Virtual Generation? By Chapter 3, I was shaking my head in disbelief about Mick. Madelyn's roommate Layla is plain crazy....I'm not sure if that is good or bad. Wesley is a trip! I really like him. This was my first book in this standalone series and now I want to read more!

Shari made me appreciate milk in a totally different way in this hilarious Rom-Com. I don’t like milk, but let me tell you, I will get over it to have him deliver to my door. This cover is also perfect. You won’t want to miss this if you need a laugh and lots of swoon worthy moments. The mantras/thoughts at the beginning of each chapter I really looked forward to and they made me smile. Shari puts unique spins on her stories that I really appreciate and you need to read this for the twist and bedtime story alone. Shari thank you for reminding me that laughter is the best medicine and that milk does a body good in more ways than one.

Brace for it, the puns are strong in this one. Maddy is fantastically snarky, and I loved her for every sarcastic comment. Wesley was just an utter sweetheart. The pair of them end up tangled in a situation I just can’t even begin to describe. Social media nightmare? Check. Career-ending possibilities? Also check. Funniest, most ridiculous thing imaginable? Double check. There were moments that Wesley and Maddy didn’t completely “gel” for me, but the bad puns, the almost dad-level bad jokes, and the fantastically snarky innuendo carried me through to the end.

Milkman is the 5th book in the Man Cave series, but I had not read the others before reading this one. This didn't effect my understanding of the story, so you can definitely read it as a standalone. This book had me laughing out loud in parts and wanting to scream at characters in the other. Madelyn is a bit down on her luck with jobs. Her search to find herself and what she truly wants to do is so relatable. It's so hard as a young adult navigating the work force and trying to figure out who you are. When she meets Wesley, she truly seems to start figuring out what she wants and who she wants to be. I loved this book and highly recommend it! Shari did a great job writing this story!

Shari J Ryan's rom-coms never disappoint and this was no exception. I laughed, I loved, I rolled my eyes, I swooned. I fell head over heels for Wesley! I love his and Madelyn's banter. Every wall that she tries to put up, he tears it down. As a model, all he is ever seen for is his body and desperately wants someone to get to know the intellectual man behind the sexy body. Madelyn is ready to set the world on fire and check some goals off her list and that doesn't include the sexy model that tries his best to catch her eye. Once these two find their way to each other, life throws them every obstacle possible. Is their love strong enough to handle it or will life tear them apart??

3.5 Stars rounded up

This was a bit of a miss for me. I always enjoy Shari Ryan’s books/ writing and I liked the concept of the story, the grown up Milk Man but I just couldn’t connect fully with Wesley. I enjoyed his POV but then some things he did (or didn’t do but should have) in Madelyn POV just didn’t fit with his character for me at times. I like a hero with a little bit more drive too. He should have gone after his dream sooner. So I guess my favorite part of this book was the last 5-10% or so. But like I said I liked many of Shari Ryan’s stories and I will continue to read more form her.

Another great book in Shari J Ryans Man Cave series. This story can be read as a complete standalone though.

In this story we are treated to the delights that are Maddy and Wesley. Maddy has had a run of bad luck with her job prospects, so when she's offered a new, almost perfect job, just like that, over the phone, it almost sounds too good to be true. Well her suspicions should be right! Enter crazt receptionsist and slight crazier boss... In fact the whole office are a little odd!

Wesley Moon is the child star from the 'Get Milk' adverts back in the day. Never really making it big and only known for his low level modelling gigs. But he's stuck in a rut, not really knowing which way to move forward in his life, and still not doing what he really wants, just what is expected of him.

When Maddy's company hires Wesley for a new advertising campaign they have going, it can only lead to one thing... a huge mess of spilt milk!!

With some brilliant witty banter between the characters, mixed in with a less than positive or healthy friendship between Maddy and her so-called friend/flatmate.

With plenty of humour, but with a touch of emotion too I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Wesley and Maddy. A little silly and OTT at time in my opinion, it was still an incredibly fun rom-com which kept the pages turning.
