I found that the book summarises the synopses of the many plays and films in quite a lot of detail as well as quoting the critical reviews and other commentary. The book does not attempt to provide much insight to the character of Rex or his relationships with wives or other actors and so readers may want to access a different biography for that type of info. The writing was fine but I was a bit underwhelmed.
