“I had to. You can’t trust me, Alan. You said it yourself, you were scared of me. You don’t need that kind of man—you don’t need me.”
All Jeremy wants is to be a good man, like his adopted dad. He works hard as a mechanic, takes care of his brothers, and keeps his head down. His only vice these days is the occasional cigarette. When he'd stepped out onto the street, he hadn't expected to step right into a scene from his dark past, and when he saw that alpha smacking an omega around in front of their kid--something dark and terrifying unleashed in him.
Alan thought he and his son Simon had escaped his abusive ex, Mark, Simon's father. A year ago, Mark had hit six year old Simon for the first time, Alan gathered his courage, grabbed Simon, and ran as far as he possibly could. But Mark's found them, and he's not happy.
Somehow, he and Simon are saved by a tall, dark man with a vicious streak, and now they don't have to worry about Mark chasing them any longer. But have they just traded one dangerous situation for the next? Jeremy is nothing but tender after that first incident, and he's never laid a finger on them, but Alan doesn't know if he can trust an alpha with any kind of dark streak, no matter how protective he seems.
Jeremy is appalled at what he did to the abuser, but he doesn't regret it. It just confirms that he can't trust himself with a family of his own. He'll turn out just like his bio-dad, whether he wants to or not. But until Alan can get on his feet, he's going to make sure he and his kid are protected. Even if it's from himself.
Two broken men hold the key to each other's healing and their hearts--but can they get past their wounds to find the dream they've both longed for so long?
Beastly is the first in a contemporary mpreg trilogy of three men with broken pasts who became brothers, thanks to the only man who gave them a chance. Trigger warning for violence and abuse. Warning! This book contains adult situations, with adults doing adult-only things, so 18+ readers only! Guaranteed HEA.
This was interesting. I don’t think I’ve read anything from this author before and it was pretty good. There is violence and abuse briefly in this book, so have a care. Jeremy was minding his own business, trying to get away from his coworker’s talk of love and pushing it on him. He’s happy for Tommy, but what’s good for one doesn’t always mean it;s for another. After what he was raised in, he doesn’t feel like he will ever be ok to be in a relationship, for fear of turning out violent himself. And he proves his point when he sees another alpha beating on a little omega and his kid. Jeremy saw nothing but red. It took several people to pull him off the guy, but Jeremy refuses to let someone beat on someone especially when it’s a kid and someone who’s much smaller. Alan has lived in fear his husband would find him. He ran a year ago and just when he thought he could breathe for a minute, there the man stood. He tried to defend himself and get his son to safety but he was no match for his abuser. When he thought all hope was gone, a man came out of nowhere and started beating his husband to pieces. Alan grabbed his son and ran. They’d have to run again, as much as he didn’t want to. Jeremy’s Dad came up with a solution though, as Jeremy and Grover were checking on them. Grover is taking them home with them to be taken care of and made to feel safe. Jeremy is dreading it. Not because he doesn’t feel for the guy, but because he DOES. He feels he’s no good for anyone and after what he just did to Mark, Alan’s ex, it drives the point home. Alan is so brave. After having to deal with so much abuse, he finally found courage and ran. Yeah, Jeremy scared him with how he was beating on Mark, but mostly he felt relief. At least now he could breathe for a bit with Mark in the hospital. But after the initial scare, Alan starts to see what Jeremy really is. Which is a kind man, who protects others. Now if he can just get Jeremy to believe that, maybe Jeremy will loosen up a bit. Because Alan feels a pull to Jeremy, he’s never felt before. Even with Mark. But Jeremy has a bad past and it will be easier said than done. For the first time in reading this author, it was good. Give it a try and see what you think. I do have to say after meeting the other brothers, there is one in particular I’m ready to see get his story. A good start.
Not the best nor worst mpreg story I've read. A couple things brought the rating down, though. Even for something that was self-published, there were way too many typos and grammatical errors to ignore. There were also a few instances of incorrect names.
This was an unexpected pleasure. Wow I never expected the story to be so good. After having spent most of his life labeled - erroneously I might add a BEAST - for actions I deemed not of his making. The first Greaves Brother is big & rough, but a bad temper was tamed by a loving adoptive father who he worked with in the family run garage as an auto mechanic. Jeremy was ashamed of the beast within himself that was created in the horrible abusive environment he'd been born into. His frustration festered when he hadn't been able to protect his mother or himself from his father's rage.
Jeremy was so afraid he'd treat his Omega mate and children the same so he made sure that it could never occur by never mating. Until proverbially an Omega an Omega and child in need were attacked by an aggressive Alpha in front of the garage. Jeremy snapped! All he saw was his former father's face and his inner Beast burst forward. His "father" and "brother" had to pull him off the now cowering man.
The thing he feared the most had come true. Jeremy willingly accompanied the police, as the ambulance took his "assault victim" to the hospital. The only witnesses the terrified Omega and his child had fled. Frantically packing to runaway again. In a shocking twist, a gruff, but surprisingly nonthreatening big older Alpha offered the frightened Omega & his son protection and refuge in his now empty house since his three "sons" were all adults & had moved out. His relationship to their rescuer helped them make up their minds.
Avoidance seemed like the best way for Jeremy to keep his growing feelings for the Omega contained and definitely discourage the hero worshipping young boy. Only real life did not happen how he wanted. Strong emotions and sparks flew between Jeremy & the Omega despite his best efforts to stay away. Fate was not to be thwarted so easily.
I completely enjoyed this book. I can't wait to read about the two other Greaves brothers and learn of their back stories, especially the temperamental brother that stayed away far more often than he came for brief visits. This is a wonderful story of forgiveness and redemption, allowing love to have its way with hardened hearts. New life helps ease the way.
I adore both men. Jeremy lives with a violent nature, but longs to be more like his adopted father. His violent nature, however, is what saves Alan, and his son Simon. With Simon's abusive ex after them, Jeremy is the one who keeps him safe.
I hate how Jeremy doubts himself, and considers himself broken. His story is heartbreaking. Seeing Alan try to make Jeremy see better about himself is beautiful and touching.
One of my favorite things is the way Simon is drawn to Jeremy. It's natural and tender. Simon is such a sweet kid, who you can't help but to fall in love with immediately. In general, Simon will bring out the feels, as he knows "'...my papa doesn't love me...'"
It's a story of attraction, need, and want. It's a story of fear, doubts, and mistakes. It's a story of taking chances and acting on one's chance at love.
Jeremy and Alan are sweet together, and have some hot moments. And, of course, this leads them to an accidental pregnancy.
Beastly is a hopeful mpreg love story. Crista Crown captures the beauty of looking beyond your past, and having faith in yourself. As well, this romance is a wonderful second chance for Alan to find love, and for Simon to find a loving papa.
I was hoping for a nice, light read that I could get through quick with a decent level of enjoyment, but this is just a bit too ridiculous.
Alan finds his ex waiting for him at his apartment. He turns and flees. He runs around the corner. His ex chases him down, there is an altercation in from of the garage Jeremy works at. The cops show up at Alan's house, saying they saw a young man run that way and that he appeared to come into the building. Which apparently they didn't see it first hand, they saw it on the garage's security footage. So, apparently the camera has the ability to see around corners. And even though there are magic security cameras that made this plot possible, the police asked Alan if Mark owned the Ford Focus, since they apparently couldn't check the car for any papers or run the plates?
Could use some more editing too.... I noticed a handful of typos and was only half awake and half paying attention. Ex. dooros, instead of doors.
I know that this is story is its own world but the legal system was so different it drove me nuts. Assault cases rarely to go court when there is proof. Even if the assailant wanted to waste 10 minutes in court and irritate a judge, there would never be a jury. Also, assailants aren't held for trial for that long. Nowhere in the US can the penal system afford to keep an run of the mill abusive husband for a year - another reason the case would be settled quickly out of court. Thanks for reading this rant and enjoy another great story by C.C.
I felt like it jumped a lot in a situation where maybe more time and detail would have been helpful. I felt like alan got over being jumped and beaten and his son after a year fleeing Mark his alpha way to soon. And he trusts way to fast tried groover. Don't get me started on how he was want but attracted to jermery then head over heels for him and jermery himself. I wanted to yell grow up at.
An omega who was abused by his ex and is on the run with his son. The Alpha, haunted by his past, who comes to his rescue. Alan and Jeremy find each other and their connection helps them move onto the future. I love their story and definitely recommend it. It's sweet, sexy and overall satisfying to read.
This book is sweet, and the story will pull you in. Jeremy is so scared to love, scared he will do the unthinkable and truly hurt someone. Alan is stronger emotionally than he realizes and has an adorable son Simon. The unconventional family that is Grover, Jeremy, Darius and Cam, show you that family can be what you make it.
Great read. Love all the unique side characters that help bring Jeremy and Alan (and a adorable Simon) together. Very quick read and I wanted more though it was as complete as it could be. Alan was amazing, sweet and you couldn't help but want to hug him. Jeremy is troubled and takes him some time to see he can be different. Can't wait for the next.
I feel like it was just too rushed. It could have used a lot more details. This book just seemed like a brief overlook of their relationship instead of us being able to enjoy it with them and to grow with them.
This book was nothing ground breaking, but I really liked the writing style. I really felt for Alan, I LOVED Simon, and Jeremey was adorable. I felt like the plot did move rather quickly and somethings were just glossed over.
