Gambit and Rogue’s honeymoon/mission has been crashed by the likes of Deadpool, the Imperial Guard, the Technet, Deathbird, Shi’ar rebels…and now the Starjammers! Best honeymoon ever?
KELLY THOMPSON has a degree in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art & Design. Her love of comics and superheroes have compelled her since she first discovered them as a teenager. Currently living in Portland, Oregon with her boyfriend and the two brilliant cats that run their lives, you can find Kelly all over the Internet where she is generally well liked, except where she's detested.
Kelly has published two novels - THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING (2012) and STORYKILLER (2014) and the graphic novel HEART IN A BOX from Dark Horse Comics (2015). She's currently writing ROGUE & GAMBIT, HAWKEYE, and PHASMA for Marvel Comics and GHOSTBUSTERS for IDW. Other major credits include: A-Force, Captain Marvel & The Carol Corps, Jem and The Holograms, Misfits, Power Rangers Pink, and the creator-owned mini-series Mega Princess.
Kelly's ambitions are eclipsed only by her desire to exist entirely in pajamas. Fortunately pajamas and writers go hand in hand (most of the time). Please buy all her stuff so that she can buy (and wear) more pajamas.
I am glad the space adventure is done. But I don't really care for the introduction of a new, worse version of Rogue's powers. That's an obstacle that wasn't necessary. We'll see how it plays out. I did appreciate Gambit's response, when he said he knew Rogue would try to push him away but that he wasn't going anywhere. They then mentioned their wedding vows, but I don't remember them specifically. Did they show up in X-Men Gold? They weren't in this series. Anyway, the ending was great, I definitely want more of Gambit and Rogue actually figuring out how to live together as a couple etc. Her meeting Gambit's cats was adorable.
So, Rogue is having issues with her powers again, but thankfully she had a husband that is willing to work through the issues with her. They're finally done being in space and actually get to enjoy living together with their cars until something else goes haywire. I'm looking forward to the rest of this.
This was great! I loved the human side of this issue. Gambit and Rogue have some serious heartfelt moments and deal with everything is going. When Rogue is told "she is not broken" was such an impactful part. With the first major battle out of the way, I am curious how this story will progress.
