If Christmas miracles were real, I never would have left Maple Grove...
I'm not the same guy I was when I left Maple Grove twelve years ago. Before, I was broken and betrayed. Now, I'm strong and indifferent.
I had one goal coming back to Maple Grove on December 23rd--celebrate at my best friend's engagement party and get out before sunrise on Christmas Eve. But mother nature had other plans for me when a blizzard rolled through that evening and left me stranded with the one woman I can't be trusted alone in a room with... Paige Williams.
In just 24 hours, Paige manages to flip my life on its head, making me confront my past demons. Paige is the nice to my naughty. The sweet to my spice. But one thing is for sure... she's put the joy back in Christmas for me. And I'm never going back.
Katana Collins is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels, novellas, and comic books in a variety of genres. She is most known for her sensual contemporary romances and her wildly popular comic book— Batman White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn with DC Comics.
When she was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse … she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.
An avid animal lover, she lives in Portland, Maine with her kind of mean cat, derpy lab-pitt mix, mellow chihuahua, and very not mellow cairn terrier puppy. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too.
She can usually be found in a coffee shop with her nose buried in a laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.
She loves connecting with book lovers like herself, and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel free to drop her an email, visit her on her website. She also loves connecting on Instagram, Facebook or in her reader group, Kat’s Kittens!
Holiday Intercepted is a novella in the Maple Grove series by Katana Collins. I fell for this book when I first saw the cover. Then I was lucky enough to win a copy in a giveaway. This is my first book by this author. You can completely read this as a stand alone. I do admit though, that at the very beginning, it took me a bit to fit all the characters together. I went back and read the blurbs of the previous books which really helped.
Taylor Wilson grew up in Maple Grove, New Hampshire and was the local football star. During his senior year, though, his life fell apart. He couldn’t get out of town fast enough when he graduated. The only good memory he took with him was a kiss he shared with Paige Williams while performing in the school play. It was a kiss that made all other kisses pale in comparison. A kiss he never forgot. Now he has gone on to be an NFL star and hasn’t returned to Maple Grove for twelve years. It is the engagement party of his friend Cam and he is finally forced to return home two days before Christmas. He’ll show up and make a short appearance. Then he would leave as quickly as possible.
Paige Williams is the drama teacher at the Maple Grove High School. Way back in high school, she had a huge crush on Taylor. And then there was that kiss. A kiss that she has never forgotten. She knows he is finally coming back to town for Cam’s party, which she is also attending. She’s pretty sure he won’t even notice her.
Just being back in Maple Grove is bringing all the anger and disappointment back that Taylor would have rather avoided. But one look at Paige and he can’t stay away. It doesn’t take long for the chemistry between them to start sparking. The past, though, gets in the way. Paige has a way of calming him, of making him listen. Of just being there for him as no one else has been. As the blizzard outside kicks up, so does the attraction between these two and they are both able to fill an emptiness in each other that neither of them thought would ever happen.
“Why her? Why now? And why God, why, did it have to be here?”
With Paige by his side, Taylor is able to face his past and forgive. Taylor’s team lives and plays in Boston, an hour away from Maple Grove. Is it possible that this could work? That they could be a part of each other’s lives? And, what does Paige want in her future? To continue teaching here in Maple Grove, or does she have higher dreams?
“I’d spent so many years being angry and resentful. Not even trying to move beyond that emotion and for what? What good had that done for me in twelve years?”
This was definitely a weekend of Christmas Miracles for both Taylor and Paige. They have a lot to figure out. Trying for a future together is a risk. What if it doesn’t work out? Are they all in, or do they walk away?
I loved this short little book. Both of these characters has experienced so much loss and sacrifice. Together they were better, stronger. They both deserved this happiness, this Christmas Miracle.
Holiday Intercepted was a short novella in the Maple Grove series by Katana Collins. It could be read as a stand-alone, but better read within the series.
Taylor Wilson was an NFL Tight End superstar. He grew up in the small town Maple Grove and got out as fast as he could. He’s never been back until now, twelve years later.
Paige Williams was the sister to Taylor’s best childhood friend, Scott; however, Taylor and Scott had a falling out so Paige and Taylor hadn’t seen each other since then and Paige was totally off limits.
Most of the storyline, approximately 75%, took place over a few days around Christmas and Christmas Eve. Collins detailed the challenges, pains and issues that kept Taylor away for so many years. Collins then fast forwarded and graced us with snippets two weeks out then an epilogue one year later. As a novella, it was short, sweet and to the point without much room for depth or dimension, but enjoyable none the less. My rating was a 3.5, which rounded to a 4 on this rating site. In the end, it was a journey of healing, forgiveness, acceptance, new beginnings and forever love.
So far I've read the Halloween and Thanksgiving novellas in the Maple Grove Series and I've loved them all. I haven't gotten into any of the main books yet, but I'm betting they are just as good. This is Paige and Taylor's story. There are lots of hidden family secrets in this one, and I thought it was great from start to finish.
I really enjoyed this Christmas novella and just love Taylor and Paige. This is such a sweet heartwarming story about understanding, forgiveness, family and most importantly, love. But also how it is never too late for any of those things, if you truly want them, Taylor and Paige are great together and have such incredible chemistry. They are sexy and certainly steam things up as they help make each other’s dreams come true and lives more fulfilling. We learn so much about these complex and wonderful characters even in this shorter time, that helps explain what makes them who they are and makes you feel what they feel. I’ve come to expect that in Katana’s books and it is what I love about her writing. I was so happy with where this story went in every single way and I loved the ending. This is such a good series and I can’t wait for more!
This was the perfect read to escape with for a couple hours! Taylor has come home, first time in over 10 years, for his best friend's engagement party with the hope of getting right back out of town early the next morning but the weather has other plans for him. Coming back brings up all the demons of his past, and there are quite a few still plaguing him. Though at the party he runs into Paige, probably the best part of his senior year of high school. They reconnect at the engagement party and the chemistry is something to behold. This is a story of forgiveness, understanding, love, and finding out it is never too late to follow your dreams. Oh and Christmas miracles are real. As I said at the beginning, this was the perfect escape book for a couple hours, it was just the right length to curl up for a afternoon and is a standalone.
a hunky dude on a Christmas book cover, sold!! u hooked me in there. I am a sucker for a great Christmas novella ... great read. I am new to Katana's books. such a new fan. My 1st read in the Maple Grove series, and I look forward to reading more soon. A sweet and sexy Christmas novella. Personally I really enjoy a novella ...it gives ya a look into an author's writing style and u get like a real taste. ... and I sometimes feel authors do take a bit more interesting take into that story? a bit more lust, steam, or whatever u wish to call it. well done. loved it! <3
This was a sweet & sexy novella set around Christmas time in the small town of Maple Grove. I absolutely adore this series and Holiday Intercepted was a perfect addition!
Taylor Wilson is back in town for Cam & Lydia’s engagement party. He has no desire to see or talk to anyone. Except maybe one person...
When he runs into Paige, memories come rushing back and sparks fly between them, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. This author has a talent of making me want to keep turning the pages. And I did.
It’s a heartwarming story of forgiveness with characters you can’t help but love. Definitely a story that left me feeling happy with a smile on my face.
What a heartwarming and emotional Christmas gift this books was. Holiday Intercepted is about a pro football player (Taylor) who hasn’t been back to his home town of Maple Grove since high school because of a series of life changing drama that happened to him. Paige went to school with Taylor and is now the drama teacher for the local school, she secretly had a crush on Taylor when the two of them were in a high school play, but hasn’t seen him in years until he shows up at one of his best friends engagement party. I loved the vulnerability that Taylor showed, especially with being a football player, you don’t expect to see the emotional side of them. Paige is a homegrown sweetheart that falls in love with Taylor as soon as she sees him again. Loved the chemistry between these two and the emotional situation she helps Taylor through. Short story, but it really doesn’t read like one. Loved it!
I enjoy the Maple Grove series SO MUCH. The characters are incredibly relatable and the author's sense of humor always seems to peek through for some laugh out loud moments. Don't worry, you'll experience tears before you're finished too. This story is about forgiveness and finding your home again after heartbreak. Paige and Taylor's love story is so complicated by the people around them that you can't help but cheer them on as they discover each other again. Fast, great read by a seriously underappreciated author.
Those you love in high school will sometimes come back to your life as an adult. You will end up loving them again.
Paige had a mad crush on her brother BFF Taylor Wilson the hot shot football player in their small town. Taylor comes back to visit for a engagement party and sees Paige again. BOOM all the feels return with a vengeance on both sides. Having to get over the issues that have kept Taylor away fro years and Paige issues that have kept her in town for years is the main theme of the story.
Cute novella written with tons of emotional moments that Collins can write amazingly well.
Coming back to Maple Grove on December 23rd for his friends engagement party is something Taylor does not want to do. There is way to much hurt and baggage to overcome, but reconnecting with Paige turns the bad into good. But can they put the past behind them and start again? Or will the most wonderful time of the year be too much to handle? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that was a joy to read I highly recommend this book. This was my first book from this author and i can guarantee it will not be my last.
Great read! I have not yet read any other Maple Grove books, but now I want to. I didn't feel lost coming into the series with this book. Katana Collins gives enough for this to be a complete standalone. I enjoyed reading about Taylor and Paige. It was a short sweet story that made me laugh, swoon, and fall in love with these two. Even though it was novella the author does a great job at still making it a full story with out it feeling rushed. It's a great romantic holiday read and I can't wait to get to know the rest of Maple Grove!
Oh my gosh... it was so good to go back to Maple Grove. I enjoy these stories so much. Katana does an awesome job of bringing you to this community and showing you around. It’s good to see some others we have met before. Nothing beats a happily ever after that you can cheer for through the story.
Taylor and Paige haven’t seen each other in years but they’ve never forgotten each other either... I enjoyed the dynamics between these characters. They had quite the history behind them and I liked how Taylor wants Paige to help him move forward. Things aren’t always easy and Christmas time is the best time for a miracle. This was a fast-paced, quick read for me and I loved every minute of it. This sweet story was one I devoured in one sitting. If you like a great love story set at the holidays, be sure not to miss this book!
Holiday Intercepted was a quick but nicely done holiday story. Taylor and Paige deliver more than a holiday romance with in these pages.
Holiday Intercepted is a story of forgiveness, second chances, and discovering the place you belong. It brings the small town feel, along with holiday magic together to make the perfect backdrop for the rest of the story.
Taylor and Paige will draw you in to their story and leave you unable to set the book down until you've flipped the very last page.
If you are looking for a quick holiday romance, this will suit your needs just fine.
This was my first read in the Maple Grove series by Katana Collins, and I thoroughly enjoyed this short and sweet and sexy holiday read. The author gives enough backstory in this book that you don’t feel anything is missing but I now want to go and read the other books in the series. This book is about Taylor and Paige, and his return home after 12 years. Between the budding relationship with Paige and dealing with his family, Taylor has quite a bit going on that makes for a great read. Can’t wait to read more from Maple Grove and Katana Collins.
Holiday Intercepted is a sweet romance novella about a high school theater teacher and a pro football player. This is a sweet second chance romance filled with emotion both the heart warming and heart breaking kind. I loved this book! The story played out beautifully and seamlessly. I couldn't put this book down. I truly enjoyed this story beginning to end. Holiday Intercepted is a perfect holiday romance to add to any romance readers collection.
I received an ARC for honest review. I really enjoyed this novella. It had great characters and was an enjoyable quick read. I have liked all of the books I have read by this author and want to read more of the Maple Grove series after reading this book.
Tylor and Page shared hot kiss during High School play. They went their own way after HS, he went to play football, she to be an actress. Life had something different in store for Paige.. They meet again after few years at their friend engagement party. Would she be able to show Tylor, what is the true meaning of Christmas???
A sweet holiday novella with a bit of steam. Family, love, some laughs and perhaps a bit of forgiveness. I’ll definitely be looking for a full length book set in Maple Grove. Looking forward to reading more of this Author.
This was a great fun quick read. I laughed, cried and fell in love with this town and all the people in it. This is the first book I have read in this series and I am so happy I got to read it. This book is one where you will believe in the power of love, coming home and Christmas Miracles. If you are looking for a quick Christmas read then pick up this book. Though I feel this book is more than just a quick read, it makes me want to read more in this town.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
I enjoyed this read but it seemed to move way too quick at least for me. Within 24 hours of reuniting the H and h were practically living together after disliking and not talking for over 12 years.
This book is part of a series, the big problem with that is when I went to read book one, it hasn't been released. I did read the free prequel to the series, which is about the Tripp family, a few do make an appearance in this book.
I loved this. I am really enjoying all of the Katana Collins books I've picked up since October and I'm planning to read more over the next year. This one was cute and steamy with a storyline that was interesting. Things do seem to happen quickly...but...it's a novella so that's to be expected. I had a good time and would definitely read this again and would recommend.
This was the perfect holiday book, long enough to get the full story but short enough that you could be done in a day or two. Looking forward to reading more maple grove books.
