Logan Buttars has always been good-natured and happy-go-lucky. After watching two of his brothers settle down, he recognizes a void in his life he didn't know about. He tried to fill that void with canine service with special needs students, but it's not quite cutting it.
Veterinarian Layla Guyman has appreciated Logan's friendship and easy way with animals when he comes into the clinic to get the service dogs. When she attends his brother's wedding, she sees him through new eyes.
But with his future at Steeple Ridge in the balance, she's not sure a relationship with him is worth the risk. After all, she's got an established practice in her east-coast hometown and he's talking service dog training all the way across the country in California.
Can she rely on her faith and employ patience to tame Logan's wild heart?

A sweet western romance. I thought the first half of the book was the best part of the story. Lots of drama and getting to know the characters and their challenges. The second half provides the HEA but it is slower without much excitement. The characters are well developed.
Romance, clean, series, but stand alone read This was more of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but love her stories, so rounded up. Loved reading this story with Logan and Layla. They were two genuine, honest characters, trying to work their way around their hurts and misunderstandings. Loved that they figured out their way through obstacles and figured out how to be themselves and trust each other. Their differences complemented each other. My only criticism, was I wished for more of their story. I am assuming it will come out in some of the other books in this series. Logan and Layla's story was a story of community, friendships, and pasts that came together beautifully. Layla throwing out her dating 'rule' and how she worked around it to protect her heart, and then finally open it up was lovely. Always a good read for me from this author.

KISSING SANTA. AT STEEPLE RIDGE by Liz Isaacson Logan can't help staring at Layla and her hair style for the wedding. He always been attracted to her, but she pulls back every time. She had a three date rule, and Logan was the only one she might break it for. Christmas festival, her plans were going well, she needed a Santa, mainly Logan. The Buttar brothers were a coveted prize, how could she become a winner of the one named Logan. All of Liz stories are delightful you feel like you know them, and what they are doing puts a smile on your face. A delighful series, that readers of all ages will enjoy, and awaiting the next one. Given ARC.for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
This is a sweet story about two incredible people who are instantly attracted to each other, but have to navigate obstacles life has placed in their paths if they want a happily ever after. This story centers around faith and forgiveness, plus finding a purpose in life. This is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves a good, clean story.
Logan & his twin brother Darren are the last 2 single Buttars cowboys. Logan has been waiting 2 years to ask Layla, the veterinarian out on a date again. She went out with him briefly 2 years ago & then broke his heart. Logan hasn't dated since then. Layla still has a crush on Logan, but her last boyfriend hurt her so bad, she has a 3 date rule. Only 3 dates with a guy, no kissing till date #4. No heartbreak. Logan finally asks Layla for a date & she agrees. Logan encourages Darren to ask someone on a date & says it will be a double date, as both men are too nervous to go alone. When Logan asks Layla if he can kiss her, she is petrified & Logan storms off. Luckily he gets up the courage to confront her & goes back asking her what he did wrong. She finally tells him about her dating rules. Now they both have to decide if a relationship is worth the fight. Will Logan ever feel like he is doing anything important with his life? Why doesn't God give him the answers he seeks? Can he go to college in California without Layla by his side? Logan isn't a planner, but if he wants to succeed he will have to be more mature & plan, not just talk. Can Logan leave his twin Darren in Vermont? Layla plans everything & is so intense. Can she learn to be more relaxed & not so intense? Does she want to go to California with Logan & abandon her clinic for 2 years? Will she be able to forgive Logan the way God tells us to forgive others? Can she convince Logan he deserves her even if she has more education than he does? I enjoyed the story, the characters had to look inside themselves to determine their weaknesses as well as their strengths. Logan & Darren were both encouraging to each other. They also did not hold back when telling each other they were being stupid. I look forward to reading Darren's story.
Veterinarian Layla Guyman has a three-date rule. Apart from having a severe dose of OCD, she also comes from an interfering academic family that have been successful in ruining any relationship she has ever had. She hasn’t had a boyfriend for 10 years and the parting words of the last one still ring in her ears. Logan Buttars’ two brothers have found love and have moved away from Steeple Ridge, leaving him and his twin to carry on. Logan loves animals and even volunteers at Layla’s clinic, but he is the happy-go-lucky type who never plans and for the most part manages to avoid making future plans. When challenged, Logan realises that more than anything he wants to be able to train service dogs and that forces him to examine the way in which he handles his life. Persuading Layla, with her lists and long term plans, to join him when he goes off to college seems an insurmountable hurdle, and second to that is the pending separation from his twin who is also struggling with the new Logan. Kissing Santa at Steeple Ridge is a sweet clean love story, one that exposes the influence loved ones have on the way we live our lives and the hurt that can be inflicted with careless words. The story is well written and although part of a series, can nevertheless be read as a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Logan Buttars fell hard for the town veterinarian, Layla Guyton, almost the day he landed at Steeple Ridge with his brothers. They got along well until suddenly, Layla started giving him the cold shoulder. Not knowing what to do, Logan packed his broken heart away and buried himself in work. When two of his brothers marry and move off the ranch, Logan begins to see that he has a gap in his life. He wants what Ben and Sam have found but the only woman he wants it with is Layla. Can he convince her to give them a chance?
Layla has a three date rule for the men in her life, and NO KISSING! But, really, Logan Buttars?? How can she stick to that when the man in question is Logan Buttars?? Every unmarried woman in town wants to be in her shoes and she has a feeling that her own heart is already in way too deep. Can she protect her heart if she throws her rules away?
Book three of the Buttars brothers novels brings readers the story of the first twin to fall in love. These brothers are all laser focused on the women they love and none of them are afraid to look a little silly in the process. (And, they're all pretty much addicted to kissing those women. 'Nuf said?) I'm looking forward to reading Darren's story to finish the series!
What a sweet romance! Logan feels that Layla is the only woman for him, but she cut it off with him two years earlier after the maximum three dates she set as a rule for herself after getting her heart broken years before. Layla's got a problem, though - she can't seem to get her mind off Logan and finds a way to stretch her rules so she can start "seeing" him again. All this adulting behavior finally forces Logan to realize that he's needs to get on the stick about pursuing his education and career goals in order to be a worthy man for Layla.
The writing is beautiful as always with a book by this author. She does a fabulous job of building the intensity and chemistry between the couple without ever taking the intimacy beyond a kiss. It's a joy to watch both main characters experience the necessary personal growth as they figure out how to make their relationship work. We also get updates on the couples of the previous books in this series, as well as a brief introduction to the next couple. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I absolutely love Liz Isaacson and all of her many different novels that she has written! She is wonderful and creates so many different stories that I have all fallen in love with, and I am so excited to read this new series about Steeple Ridge.
"Kissing Santa at Steeple Ridge: A Buttars Brothers Novel (Steeple Ridge Romance, #3)" is the third edition to this wonderful series. The loud child, the one with an open personality, would have to be Logan Buttars; however, this outgoing individual is having the hardest time settling down with the right woman. Can the local vet be the he has been looking for? Will he mess it up before they can even get started?
Please, if you have never picked up a novel by Ms. Isaacson, I would like to encourage you to do so. I promise you that you will not regret it!
Kissing Santa at Steeple Ridge by Liz Isaacson doesn’t disappoint in our adventure of getting to know the Buttar brothers. A sweet romance with a holiday twist you won’t want to miss. Two years ago Logan Buttars dated Layla Guyman but Layla broke it off with no explanation, but was still determined to get her back. Layla had been hurt by a man years before and set up ‘rules’ that she went by in dating and to protect herself, or so she thought. Logan hadn’t dated much but knew he wanted Layla in his life. And for someone who doesn’t like to dress up in silly Halloween costumes or Santa Claus that has its challenges. Love (and God) has a way of getting in the way of rules and misunderstandings that can wreak havoc on the best of plans.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very good story about someone who is a (obsessive) detailed planner and he is fly by the seat of your pants, act and react type of person. Talk about opposites attracting. But they do have a lot in common and after Layla gets over her three date rule she and Logan can relax and enjoy their time together. Then when Logan is accepted to college in California has an opportunity to leave in a month instead of in the fall he decided that breaking up with Layla is better because she can't be ready to leave in a month. He doesn't think to ask if she could going him later. Will their faith in God get them through and bring them back together or will He have other plans for them?
There’s a lot of emotion packed into this story, and once again a Liz Isaacson title brought me to tears by the end. My heart hurt watching Layla and Logan dance around their feelings for one another. The master planner veterinarian and the consummate fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants Buttars brother show us that opposites do attract. Unfortunately, they also show us that opposites clash when Logan’s failure to plan repeatedly pushes Layla away. I loved watching these two figure it out. They both had some learning to do, but with the guidance of a higher power, they made the right decisions for themselves and each other. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and loved it so much, I purchased a copy.
I just love anything that Ms. Isaacson writes. Her style is about everyday people nothing phony. The characters are so believable, they seem like real people. I loved Logan in the prior two and his story didn't disappoint. This story helps reflect one's struggle with life and seeking guide in prayer. Sometimes we act on our own and unfortunate things happen that really didn't need to if we just continue to fully hand things over to the Lord.
Well done!!! Another excellent story. I will definitely be reading and re-reading this book (really the entire series) over and over. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
Cute little small town romance. Overly organized vet crushes on local cowboy- and vice versa 💗 cant tell if it'd be a cowboy love story or a reverse fairlytale.
I felt a bit thrown into the storyline which sometimes works but I feel like there wasn't much build up and there wasn't a lot of history so the propelling romance did seem hasty. I did not know that this was #4 in the series but I think (from glimpsing the next story) that they may be standalones.
I did enjoy the faith based romance toward the middle of the book though. I think it changed a lot about the base of the book and helped the romance a lot.
If you're looking for something sweet, clean, and easy to read, that'll probably leave you smiling at the end, this is it. The only reason I took off a star is because it's just not cool when a character says "come with." I just can't stand that phrase. At all. Also, these MCs come across as a little bit weak and a little bit immature. They do grow, which was great to read about. Overall, it's a good story. Most of my issues were personal preference related. I still recommend this book. Liz Isaacson is one of my favorite authors when it comes to contemporary romance.
Kissing Santa at Steeple Ridge is the 4th book in the Steeple Ridge series by Liz Isaacson and as always a great read.
Logan and Layla have been attracted to each other for quite some time but neither has acted upon it or really knows how the other feels and Layla has this three date rule then she walks away.
Can these two let the holidays, fate and faith show them the way to each other and a HEA or will they both just let life and love pass them by???
Logan Buttars realizes their is a hole in his life when he sees two of his brothers and their brides. Logan has admired veterinarian, Layla, for two years but doesn't think she is interested in him. Both Logan and Layla lack confidence to take their relationship further until they receive a little push from Logan's twin, Darren, and Layla's best friends. Kissing Santa at Steeple Ridge is a sweet Christmas story which I enjoyed. I recommend the book to anyone wanting a quick contemporary Christmas read! I received my e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
Kissing Santa is the third of the Steeple Ridge series by Liz Isaacson. We met Logan briefly in the previous two books, and Layla was also presented briefly as the town veterinarian. Layla and Logan have been eyeing each other for a couple of years before they finally make the plunge into dating. From there it gets intense, as each one has old tapes playing in their heads. If you've read the first two books, you don't want to miss this one. The good news is that book four is also out and you can read them all in one fell swoop without waiting for months in between.
Another beautiful story about two slightly damaged souls who realise they need each other. Layla is a meticulous planner who has a three date rule so she doesn't get hurt, and Logan, who has been drifting by his three brothers sides since the death of their parents. There are times when both characters need a kick up their backsides, both have a stubborn streak that can be annoying. A sweet story with added dogs, a definite theme throughout Liz Isaacson books, and also lots of soup!!
Such a fun story of two people who take two years to finally admit feelings for one another, Layla a veterinarian with her lists and rules and Logan, a cowboy with a lacksadaisicle attitude. When they finally fall in love and Logan has to leave the state for school he expects Layla to just pack up within a month to follow him. When she can't he decides to end the relationship, but Layla has other plans to make him see reason. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Logan, the first of the twins to fall in love and Layla, the Vet who has been demoralised by a previous boyfriend. Logan feels inadequate due to his lack of education, a feeling many of us can relate to when in the company of people with degrees. Layla is afraid Logan won’t like the person she is inside. Real life issues, real feelings and as I’ve come to expect from Liz Isaacson, handled in a way people can relate to. Looking forward to Darren’s story.
I continue to enjoy the stories in this series. This time it's Logan's chance, especially since he's been waiting to date the girl of his dreams for 2 years (when she turned him down)! Success this time, though not without its ups and downs. I especially enjoyed the close relationship Logan and his twin brother have, as well as the other Buttars Brothers who have supported each other since their parents' deaths. I highly recommend this book.
Her Mistletoe Cowboy: WOW! Fantastic story of suspense, surprises and romance. Logan has eyes for her for a long time but he just didn't know to make the right move. It was same for her but here more about her rules. She was afraid of getting hurt. He was the shy one of his brothers. Layla and Logan were right for each other but it just took a while for them to realized. I really enjoyed it.
I'm always impressed how Ms. Isaacson creates relatable believable characters with real emotional issues and keeps a steady flow and pace that keeps the reader turning pages while soaking up the romance blooming off the pages book afer book.
Great watching these two characters overcome the internal and external battles while enjoying swoony kisses.
