Big 10 is one of the most simple, practical tools for helping a believer encounter the 10 truths that build a long-term foundation in Christ. Although it is difficult to describe the Big 10 study, it is designed to be used as a help in “life-on-life” discipleship—not so much as a study or a class—although it can be used in that manner as well. The purpose of the study is to foster discipleship relationships that will result in long-lasting devotion and passion for Jesus Christ. This material is designed to build and encourage a highway, not a cul-de-sac or a dead end. A cul-de-sac can only have a certain number of homes built in it. By contrast, a highway services a nearly limitless number of homes across a vast amount of land. In other words, choosing disciples from within the four walls of the church creates only limited growth. The number of people inside of the church who need to learn this material should quickly dwindle to almost nothing. It would be like a cul-de-sac filling up with homes. It may be a beautiful street, but cul-de-sacs are dead ends without the possibility of further growth. However, reaching outside of the church to evangelize and disciple creates limitless potential—like a highway. If you reach outside of the church to disciple others and your disciples do the same, imagine how quickly the church would grow. It could become a highway with far-reaching influence and limitless growth potential. Are you ready to be challenged in your growth as a follower of Christ? Are you ready to throw off every hindrance and run after Christ? Are you ready to reevaluate your priorities and passions? Whether you are discipling or being discipled, you will not want to miss a single day of the exciting season of growth in which you are about to enter. The goal is life transformation through complete heartfelt obedience to Christ in all you do.
