When a hiker falls from a cliff edge while walking the Cotswolds Way, it seems like no accident. The more Jack and Sarah investigate the walkers on the trail that day, the more likely it seems that danger is still afoot. Is there a potential killer in this Cherringham tour group? And when will he or she strike again?
Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.
I like this series and this is episode 33. I decided that it was time to download the remaining in the series. The final two books however, are not available on Audible. It's so frustrating, it's like cutting the final chapter from a book. Back to this book Jack and Sarah once more are called you to solve another mystery. Who was the victim, why was she singled out, and why did the perpetrator carry out the deed. Sorry, if you are looking for answers from me, then please read the story. TV's Midsomer Murders actor, Neil Dudgeon narrates this series, ironic in way as his show, like this series, has at least one fatality.
While taking a hiking tour in the Cotswolds a group of Americans, a German and a Brit, become involved with what could have been a very bad situation. Jack and Sara are great at solving things like this. These books are fun and as they go on, the characters become great friends. Love getting to know them!
I really enjoy the Cherringham series. They are short books that can be read quickly. Characters are interesting and the style of writing light and easy to read. The murders have a twist and the process of gathering the data means you are able to follow the thought processes of the "detectives". Not all about murder either, though it is an area of the Cotswolds I might avoid!
This was a good episode. It involves the town historian who is a quirky character and a tour group of walkers who all come from different backgrounds. When one of them falls off the side of a cliff, it doesn't look like an accident. Luckily she survives but strangely doesn't want the accident investigated. Very good story.
As always, the authors deliver an interesting, complex plot populated with some new fun characters. Of course, Jack and Sarah solve the crime with the help of Cherringham's quirky residents.
A good book to listen too when you clean the house. It gives you ”Midsomer murders” wibes. It is fun to try to figure out how the guilty person is. Jack is a retired cop from US, Sarah is a singel mom and they solves crime together. This one was about a mystery.
