Lions, tigers, and bears....oh my! Not really, just lions in this one. Lots of lions! What's up with the collared lion? Why are all the other lions afraid of him? Simba Station takes you on a wild ride as the lions revolt! Find out what happens on Lion Island in this fast-paced read of man versus lions.
Dr. Jane Peevey is fighting for the life of Simba Station—a natural wildlife phenomenon that she and another zoologist have discovered in the African Republic of Boogami. The natural wildlife preserve is located on a peninsula that juts out from the Boogami River forming a natural defensive perimeter for the pride of lions that live there. These lions, like no others in Africa, can be closely studied by the scientists at Simba Station, an old abandoned mining town on the other side of the river. Looking down from the higher side of the river, the scientists can almost be a part of a lion’s daily life. Feeling protected and safe on the peninsula, the lions allow the scientists to observe them on a regular basis. However, the harmony between the scientists and the lions is threatened as the Republic of Boogami is enticed to transform Simba Station into an exclusive theme park.
Millionaire event and theme park builder Dante Pierpont has convinced the President of Boogami that a lot of money is to be made by building a theme park around the natural wildlife attraction of the lions. Dante and the President of Boogami see money, while Dr. Peevey sees the destruction of the lion wildlife preserve. As Dr. Peevey is forced to give ground to the developer, she unexpectedly picks up an ally in professional hunter Baker Brown and his partner Amos Ashanti. Even though Jane loathes hunting and Baker, she grudgingly accepts his help if it will protect the lions that she loves.
It seems as if the age old contest of civilization versus nature will take place in the jungles of Boogami. Suddenly, a lion that appears to be the subject of some science experiment gone awry, stumbles onto the scene. All the other lions react strangely to this newcomer, the collared lion. From that point on, nature is turned upside down.
The scientists and professional hunters are concerned with how all of the lions are reacting to the collared lion, but the developers and Boogami government are only concerned with making money. As the lions rebel and attack, civilization retreats and defends. Simba Station becomes the ultimate thrill ride of the century.
