"I wasn’t looking for a carbon copy of myself. I wanted someone who had the jigsaw pieces that I was missing."
So what if this isn't deep or meaningful? And yeah it not perfect, but sometimes in life, you just need a book that will make you smile. That's exactly what I got from this book one big ass stupid smile on my face! I enjoyed it simply for what it was and yeah a jealous ex always makes my day!
Braynt is going to his sisters wedding, where his ex boyfriend that fell for the guy he cheated with will also be there. He’s bummed but going to take his best friend Haley…so, maybe it won’t be all bad. BUT, Haley has a better idea… She wants to Bryant to take a friend from her gym and make the ex douche jealous! Sounds perfect right? Neither of them counted on really liking each other.
Their banter was cute, I enjoyed them getting to know each other. It was fast, but… when ya know, ya know, right?
The only part I didn’t like, was when the ex ran his mouth and Max just believed him. There was no talking about it, no confronting anyone, he just left. I mean, I saw it coming a mile away because nobody ever told Max that the ex would be there, so, of course he’d find out and get mad… It just bugged me that he was so quick to believe a bitter ex before he would this guy that he’d totally fallen for. Never believe the ex, they’re liars lol
Other than that though, it was a really cute, short read and I was happy with the way it ended. I wouldn’t mind reading more about these two :) 4 stars from me!
Very short read. Several things really bothered me. After Bryant saw Tony at the wedding he said he didn’t feel anything. He also keeps saying he’s not thinking about Tony while he’s thinking about Tony.
They have sex without any preparation except putting on a condom. They didn’t even use lube. That couldn’t have been pleasurable for either one of them. The second time they didn’t even mention the condom.
I just can't. The writing for this was ridiculous. It was cringe worthy. And it was so distracting that even though I've only made it to 30%, and this was actually really short, it still took me ages to get to this point and it felt like I had been reading forever. I'm so sorry, I tried giving it a chance and the premise sounded really fun but it just didn't work.
This was a short quick read that I like. Bryant is having a hard time getting over his ex Tony. Bryant needs a date to his sister's wedding the same wedding that his ex will be at with the man that broke them up. When his friend Hayley suggest that he take a friend Max who is looking for some fun. I liked both of these character's I didn't like his ex Tony. The chemistry between Max and Bryant was good they hit it off right away. The sex scenes in this book were hot. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
There are two shorts The Wedding Date and Loving Mr Kale in this free download.
The first has Bryant, still bruised after breaking up with Tony, fixed up with a blind date, Max, for his sister's wedding. They are instantly attracted and also get along well but Bryant neglects to tell Max that Tony and his new partner will also attend . Slight complications ensue before a happy conclusion. The sex is steamy.
In the second, Jon and Alex have a sexual encounter and subsequently find themselves as PA and boss in a gaming company. The chemistry between them continues, romance flourishes and there is a happy ending.
I was bored by both of these stories but if you like steam and sickly happy endings then these are for you.
Insta-love and a little drama but overall a light read. There was something a little off for me with the way it was written and the characters' "voices". It just didn't seem organic. Also, I get really peeved when there aren't enough physical descriptions of the characters. Brown hair isn't enough to explain how someone looks. I may be being picky about but there are plenty of ways to work in someone's looks especially when you're using two points of view. And it doesn't have to happen all at once, it could happen throughout the story and that would be better than hardly anything being said about it.
Bryant needs a date for his sister's wedding so he can show his ex he's moved on. His friend Hayley sets him up on a blind date with Max and the two hot it off really well. But Bryant is nervous about owning up to his ex at the wedding which causes him to almost lose Max. The book is a sweet, low angst, easy read. I personally would have liked to have more depth in both their characters so that I felt I got to know them properly though.
Just a number of annoying things about this book. The story finishes with still about an hour left of reading time. Safe and lubricated/prepared sex is non existent. And there are several "huh?" moments or anomalies of the eye rolling variety. Apart from that, the plotline is like 27 other books I've read in the same trope. Nothing original or stand out about it.
This is a charming, quick read about love at first sight and misunderstandings. There is nothing droopy or overly sad. My only caution is the over use of exclamation points. Just try to block those out. But, really. Anyone looking for a smexy, light-hearted read will enjoy this one.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a nice story. I differ have any problems with it. The characters are fun and written well. I like that they are both ready to move on even if they didn't think so at the beginning. I'm glad that they didn't wallow long and take steps to fix mistakes.
While I thought this was a cute story, I felt that it needed more. The characters had so much more to offer. Is have liked to have seen the conversation between Desi and Bryant fleshed out more. In fact Desi could be a been expanded more to really give the story some depth.
This was a short story that was insta-love between two men. Of course, there is heartache which is resolved. If you can move past typos then it was a cute story.
Grammar errors abound. Some cute scenes (the bar scene the night before the wedding in particular added a star to this review), but so much more is missing here.
Well written (almost no typos). Well planned story. I like that the "lost in love" characters are able to move on together. I really loved that the cheating ex-boyfriend jerk gets put in his place and I would like to read more of the Only Him series.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Bryant and Max. Bryant is just looking for an escape from the torture he will endure at his sisters wedding. So his friend and co-worker comes up with a plan bring another hot guy to show his ex he's over him. He's not so sure about this plan but one look of a pic of Max and he thinks this just might work. Max isn't sure about this set up but one look of a pic of Bryant and he thinks he is my type why not. Sometimes though the best laid plans can blow up in our faces. When they get to the wedding things are going great for them until Max learns of Bryant's true intentions for bringing him to the wedding. Can they find a HEA or will Max never trust Bryant again?
This is an amazing story. It does have its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will these characters will take you on an emotional roller-coaster that you won't want to get off of. This is a great story that shows no matter what the sex is you can try and screw up a good thing it is what you do in the end that really counts. I would highly recommend this book.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Bryant and Max. Bryant's sister was getting married and Bryant learned his ex-boyfriend was going to be there. Bryant's ex cheated on his and they broke up a year ago and Bryant still wasn't over it. When a friend suggested Bryant take someone to the wedding to make his ex jealous, Bryant agreed. Hayley asked her friend Max to go to the wedding with Bryant, but they didn't tell him it was to make his ex jealous. Bryant and Max went to the wedding and had a great time over the weekend, they got to know each other and had a great connection. Both Max and Bryant wanted to see where this could go and if they could stay together after the wedding. Things went well until Bryant's ex got involved and caused trouble. i really enjoyed this story and really liked Max. I think he was a little nervous at first with how strong his connection to Bryant was, but they both wanted it to work. This was sweet story with an almost instant love between Bryant and Max with a little heat thrown in. Well done.
