Something ancient is stirring in the heart of Burning Peak. And it isn't pretty.
Hattie Jenkins and the Infiniti are about to face their final battle with warlock chief, Gideon Shields.
Though they have to contend with two reanimated dragons as well as the demented sorcerer, the team feel hopeful their preparations will pay off.
But when Shields takes the life of their alchemist ally, Orville Nugget, the odds don't look too great for Hattie and the cats. Because the young alchemist's dragon-steel was their only hope against the ravages of dragon-fire.
Only the most powerful magic can defeat Shields and his fiery-titan now.
But is Hattie's witch-power potent enough to bring the Chief Warlock down, so she can release her beloved Coven Isles from Shields' reign of tyranny at last...
Find out what happens in the fiery finale of this much-loved series!
Author's note: This is the final book in an eight-part series. All seven previous books are great to read as standalone's, however, I'd definitely recommend reading this one last. All loose ends are tied up in this final instalment.
***Previously released as The Angel and the Dragon***
Oh how I love Hattie Jenkins and The Infiniti. Since the first book in the series, I've felt a connection to Glessie Isle and all the supernatural and Unawakened people alike. Following in the adventures that brought Hattie "Seraphim" to her calling has been pure suspense and Joy. Finally finding out how all the murders have tied together and where the cards fall for CPI David Trewlove.
I'm just so sad to see it all come to and end, but what and end, knowing who the Wormwig is and seeing how the story ends for all our favorite characters.
Believe me if there is ever anything written about Glissie Isles, it will be at the top of my list.
The only thing I hated about this book is that it's the last one in the series! I LOVED how Ms. Goodfellow connected everything together so that it all made sense. I love how all the cats had their time to shine. At first, in the beginning of the series, I thought Portia would be a villain or be murdered but...she actually became a beloved character to me! I'm very sorry to see this series come to an end and I hope Ms. Goodfellow writes another series. (HINT: I'd love a book about how the lemniscate came to be with one book focusing on each cat for the most part. :) ) Unfortunately, I figured out quite early whom the other dragon was going to be and who carried the code but putting that aside, there were some surprises that made the book very interesting. These books can be stand-alone (IE: you don't have to read them in order) but they are much more interesting if you do read them in order. :) Plus there is something strangely satisfying in seeing all 8 books together inside your Kindle or IPad. :) For anyone who loves witches, dragons, magic, and murder...this is THE series for YOU!
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Until I purchased "Spells and Jingle Bells" on my Kindle, I had never heard of many of the fabulous authors who contributed to the book. After reading it, I have since purchased at least one other e-book from many of the authors. One author in particular, Pearl Goodfellow, has really made an impression on me. Her story lines are engaging. Her characters are well flushed-out. And then there's The Infinity. Who cannot love an immortal clowder of black cats? Me! That's who. So I started from the beginning of the series and read them all in order.
So, now I ask...Ms. Goodfellow...when will the next book be released? I can't wait!
Absolutely wonderful end to the series. All ends tied up, all questions answered in a fast paced action packed adventure that has you wondering if the "good guys" can really win. Their arch enemy is set on taking over everything with fire and destruction. Can our heroine and her fearless (well most of them) moggies do anything to help the Custodians save the world? Magic, all manner of supernaturals, dragons and witches are packed into a plot that will keep you riveted. Wonderful characters, some surprises and great dialogue make this a must read. Nice to see a series that doesn't fall down at the end.
I received this book for free in return for an honest review. This is the last book in the Infiniti series with Hattie Jenkins and I feel that it is the best of all of them. It is very well written. The plot was well conceived and easy to follow. There were no loose ends that needed to be tied up. I will miss this series, but I know that the Infiniti will continue. I definitely do recommend this book
I just binge-read the whole series, and I'm very glad that Pearl is writing another series with these characters. They are all really well-drawn, including all the cats. I have really enjoyed watching Hattie and the cats go through their adventures, solving mysteries along the way, as Hattie (reluctantly) comes into her magic. And HEAs all around at the end. I can hardly wait to read the next series.
A great finale, as well as a strong stand alone tale.
More murder, more attempts on Hattie and the others of her guardian group by the evil governor/warlock. It's a twisted trail they have to follow to get all the info on this evil man, but slowly it all comes to light, but will it be in time? The showdown is a whopper, with an evil black diamond created Dragon out to finish off the loyal crew!
This book is the best of the series! Y'all need to read this series with Hattie, David, the Infinity , and all of their friends. Hattie, David, and these magical cats use their detective skills to make sure good wins over evil. All I can say is Pearl Goodfellow is a creative genius.
I enjoyed the entire Infiniti series, and this was a satisfying end to it. I was hopeful that I knew the identity of the Dragon before the reveal at the end of the book, and was happy that I was correct. Hopefully we'll see the Infiniti again, in another of Pearl's books. I would highly recomend this entire series.
This story ties together previous books and identifies the real really bad guy, who is raising a dragon to destroy the planet. He combines magic and "warlock technology" to fend off those who would stop him. The one you least expect is the one who saves the day.
Pearl Goodfellow has done it again! An amazing end to a fantastic series! Read them all...then read them again. You’ll be glad you did. Cheers for the Infinity and Hattie!
Wow! Won't give away the wow, but there are a few wows in this book! This trip with the infinity is worth every minute. Ms. Goodfellow has a winner of a series. Love the kitties
This is the last book in a series about magical beings battling over the earth. I found it amusing and well-researched, moving along smoothly within the canon of lore regarding such matters. However, the plethora of grammatical errors was jarring.
I have just finished the last of her infinity books, I have given it 5stars because of how much fun I had reading it. I can certainly see it being a mini series on lifetime. Or some channel. It won't win a Pulitzer, but I am extremely entertained
Let me begin by saying if you haven't read the other books in the Hattie Jenkins & the Infiniti Chronicles, please start at the beginning so you can truly enjoy the entire series. This is the final book in the series and was so Bittersweet . It was an Amazing and Magical ending to an Enchanting Witch Murder Mystery! You are taken on a Wild and Emotional Roller Coaster ride as Hattie, the Infiniti and their Friends put all the pieces together to fight an Evil and Wicked Warlock. There will be moments of shock and awe, laughter and yes, you will shed some tears. It is a battle between Good and Evil and Brave Friends coming together to fight with the Greatest Magic of all...Love!
Although I am sad that this is the end of the Series, Hattie, her moggie crew and all the friends I found in the pages will stay with me always!
Such a bittersweet moment when a series comes to an end. This is such a great world and I love the Infinity, I hope the author will bring us back from time to time. This story was fast paced as it wove it's way through tying up loose ends. The epilogue was really needed after that hectic pace. Would love to know more about the cats themselves and of course check in with everyone.
